La Digue is one of the most beautiful islands we have ever been. To reach the island you would need to take the ferry from Mahe to Praslin and from Praslin to La Digue. There are daily ferries from Mahe so it is pretty easy to get here. The journey takes around an hour and fifteen minutes.
Although it is a small island, 10.08 km2, many different activities can be done. On La Digue, only residents are allowed to drive. Tourists can rent bicycles, which I find very convenient and fun. We managed to cycle to all the important sights with no difficulty.
All the beaches are absolutely stunning and worth visiting them. Some trails require guides, whereas others don’t need one as the paths are well-maintained and they only require proper footwear and attention.
Make sure that you have local currency for Beach Cabanas. You can find them on almost every beach. Beach Cabanas sell fruit, drinks, cocktails and light snacks. Some of them can prepare fantastic lunches.
You cannot miss the most beautiful beach in the world, which is Anse Source d’Argent.
Other beaches are Grand Anse, Petite Anse, Anse Cocos, Anse Caiman and Anse Marron.
