Throwing my hat (hands?) in the ring with a quick demo of this new stage guitar. Be kind. 😇

Seagull S12 !! This was my morning project - to TUNE a few guitars! lol ... if you've ever had a 12 string, you know how challenging that can be at times, so I took advantage of the time, and made a quick recording! Enjoy! (better yet - come buy this gorgeous guitar! I'm playing, and singing through a Godin AS8 acoustic amp - great combo.
For my biggest fb fan ❤️ Marie

Today, we lost an amazing woman. One who gave me too much to detail here … family, fun, and friendship. Some people come into your life for a real purpose, and that's the case here. My first spot in the marching band, my first extended family, countless smiles, and words of encouragement for over 50 years. I'll miss you like crazy.
Gretsch … IN DA HOUSE!

This gorgeous 5420T in “single barrel burst” is a center block semi hollow tone monster! Bigsby trem, and that iconic Gretsch “Chime” … 2 pickups with volume, master volume, master tone and 3 way toggle. You gotta play this.
What’s in the box today ?

New guitar day - DBM now is a dealer for the Godin/Seagull line! yay!
I like dreadnoughts so it would be the Seagull S6 Original for me. I also love the warm sound of cedar.
I can’t find left handed models
Dave love this !!!! Can you share what app and backing tracks you are using very nice.
Hi Dave thanks for sharing, where do you get your backing tracks from they sound good.
Hey Dave sounds good what kind of keyboard are you playing? Thanks for sharing.
they make a lefthand model
I think with a lighter reed, this MP will be much more free blowing - stay tuned ... still trying to find a ligature that fits well. Jay Metcaff - why don't you match a ligature with your mouthpieces????
UPDATE: Found this MP to actually be a bit too bright. After fiddling, and fussing with reeds, and ligatures, I decided that it's not a good fit for me. Sent it back. The search continues - looking at a few Otto Links this week
Cool looking at your crotch instead of the guitars That said, thanks for making the video, rare comparison
I'm a longtime fan of the Mann! Fantastic video.
Just saw this, love the intro. Were you reading music or just playing? I've been trying to convert those notes to guitar. Great job.
Since you took the time and effort to compare such guitars that are rare to find other similar videos you might as well thought of having the guitars finely tuned and in the same standard tuning. The result here makes no sonic sense at all. We would appreciate if you remade the video and have the instruments in proper and same setting so we get the true difference of the three.
Geeze .... while I agree with your premise, it's very easy for you to just not watch the video, right? It was an impromptu decision, and I just wanted to give a quick comparison. Sorry if I failed to meet your demanding standards. I'm a musician, not a "you tuber" ... if there even IS such a thing. Have a wonderful day.
Thanks I've been trying to decide if I wanted to pull the trigger on getting a seagull s6 or not. I have a Martin d11e but can't find a seagull to try out first
When you get into the all solid wood class - there's lots of subjectivity. Best thing is to play each one, and listen closely! Give the Godin Fairmount a listen, too - it's fantastic!
No, no, no … this is 100% meant for stage. There is not enough tone for acoustic performances. A Taylor GS mini, or other travel guitar would be better. The best campfire guitar I can recommend is the Enya GO SP1 carbon fiber. Weather and temp resistant, fun to play, easy to transport. In stock at Dave Boyd Music

How does it sound unplugged? Can it hold it's own around a campfire?
sounds very boxy and mid heavy
perhaps it's your listening device. Sounds great in the room!
For all my new friends in Keuka Uke Class at Mozaic! Cheers!
You are the best! You made our day in the fingerlakes and can’t believe you made this video for me. Thank you soo much!!
You can thank Lisa for that! Happy birthday!!
This was the perfect clip! Thank you sooo much Dave!
the hell is this
Love this Great job Dave
I notice that I listed this as "at the Crab Trap",(Somers Point NJ) but it was actually at the Windrift in Avalon NJ. Simple shuffle pattern played on a n earlier Yamaha DGX type digital piano. ( Didn't love it, but it was there, so I used it)
Beautiful! Miss you Dave!
Hello Dave; nice to see and to hear you! I see you're loyal to the sunburst :-) You sound great; sorry for still not visiting! Good luck!
I love me some sunburst! (as you know!)
mister " SWEET TOOTH". in his own Candy Store......must be tempting Dave, all that gear... the Seagull sounds lovely but as you mentioned yourself , hell of a job to get these 12 strings tuned properly.... anyway good to see you have not lost your touch !!!!!!!
Thanks John! Just had a rare moment of quiet, so I took it!
Awesome performance by the multi-talented Harve Mann!
This song is very special to my family. We played it in marching band, and and it became a kind of family anthem.
That is one sweet looking guitar!
Sure is! That one's gone, but I have another in a beautiful natural finish .... facebook.com/marketplace/item/769418017883081
a man of many talents.....yes Sir !!!!
Seriously though Dave, lovely tune and recording...greetings from Holland!
I take it you are keeping this guitar !!😂😂😂😂😂😂
LOL - no! When I got my opening order from Seagull, one of the guitars was calling out to me, so I traded this one in!
Typically great Uncle Dave performance. Love the pickin'.
Thank you Ed!
So good
how about a song with it ??!!!😁😃😃
It's already SOLD! (yay)
@@daveboydmusic744 are you taking a leaf out of Donny's book?😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
@@matseims LOL - this isn't a museum! It's a retail store! Everything's for sale!
If you trimmed it, no one could enjoy how you can literally stop “traffic” with your talent.
Never heard a noisy crowd shut up so fast 😂that’s my daddy’s super power 🥰
always a pleasure watching you perform Dave. !!! greetings from Holland !!!
Thanks John .... just dug that one up from the archives. Hope all is well with you and Annamieka!
@@daveboydmusic744 ....coping.....did you get our latest recording which I mailed you last Sunday.....🤪🤪
@@matseims Hi John, I've been out of town taking care of my folks this past week ... a task my family and I share, but this week, no one was available but me, so I'm on duty 24/7 with Mom & Dad ... loving every second of it, but totally focused on them the entire day. I haven't been home for a week, so I'll check out the recording in a few days. I always enjoy your stuff. Cheers, mate!
Sorry - should've trimmed the video to cut out the set up time! Music starts at 4:21
L❤️VE this guitar!
i need
I got!
I know I said maple neck, and that's true, but the fingerboard is Indian Laurel. Like a light rosewood.
Classic Vibe is an amazing value in new guitars - best bang for the buck!
Very impressed with your channel & your music. Great singer musician!
Thank you Clay - I should post more often, but I run a music store, and perform nightly, so time is tight! (that's a great song title! lol)
Beautiful tribute to your friend, Tiny Tim. Great songs Harve! Enjoyed these performances....
Ain't you sump'em! Hell yeah, I'm impressed. Why did I not know this? What year?

Great job Dave ! Thanx for sharing this, good to see you in the saddle on keys again filling the air with great music!!! btw were you using the Roland Street Cube EX
nooooo, When I use the PA900, I add the sub from my EV Evolve 30M ... sometimes the tower as well, but this is a small room, so I rarely need extra projection.
Sorry about all the chatter, but these folks REALLY enjoy our ThursDAVE get-to-gethers!
