So beautiful, Jenny! ❤
Love this pattern. I might look for some of that yarn
woohoo i got it now to get that yarn
PS - Smoky seems extra cuddly for a cat! I used to have a "snugglemuffin" cat who would just tolerated being manhandled like that. Miss him!
Jenny - congrats on having your Pines & Needles shawl featured on Junction Fiber Mill's millcast earlier this week - it looks so nice with one of their color-changing yarns. =) Your hood/scarf is cute, and I LOVE those B&L colors. Hope you are having a great weekend -
@@wendysullivan5511 oh wow - I gotta watch that! I had no idea they featured it! Thank you!
I’m looking forward to this pattern being available and love all the rib welt patterns. Thank you!
Hello. I just finished the welt cowl out of cashmere and love how quick and easy it was. Love it. Possibly my new favorite. I live in 🇨🇦 so I am in a cold winter climate. Next up the welt scarf.
Wow - that is a gorgeous design and I can't wait for it to come out. So pretty and it's very stylish! Smokey is very handsome!
@@Syls_ewenique_knits thank you - yes he is my sweetie:)
Love the cowl in this series. Can't wait until this pattern comes out! I missed the test call so now I wait. Hopefully not too long. 😊
thank you! I am targeting mid February for the release:)
Happy Birthday, Jenny!
Very happy to watch your video( first time). I didn’t look very at your hat in the Ravelry shop and here I can have a better look. It looks great! Happy new year and thank you for your birthday sale! (Happy birthday !)
Just ordered the Lumos light, thank you for the generous discount code! The code is still valid. (says Jan. 1 above)
yay! enjoy - thanks - it should expire in a few days, I removed that Jan 1 thing.
Love all your patterns. Just bought 5 in your sale. Thanks! Starting with the cowl.
Happy birthday! Pines and Needles is my next accessory knit. Just finishing some needed socks first. It’s a gorgeous shawl. Thanks for the heads up on the light and the discount code. I have a lot of trouble seeing in the dark and I end up turning every light on in the area. Every light LOL. Am going to try the light out!
yay:) same here. this year my eyes just got a lot worse - I am sure it does not help that I sit in front of the screen for 8 hours then I knit at night.
I made the pine needles shawl what a wonderful knit. I truly enjoyed the pattern, so well written.
thank you so much!

Thank you for the no 1 hat pattern.🎄
I couldn't identify (from your picture list) what is the name of the green hat you are wearing at the end of your frank discussion. Please tell me. Thanks.
Hi! It's Flower Ridge hat:)
@@SweaterFreak Thanks and Merry Christmas.
Wow Jenny! Hard to pick a favourite but I’m loving the forest green cable hat. Gorgeous. Good advice for a new designer starting out 👍🏻
thank you, Carla! yes, i love the green cabled one too - i made a grey one and gifted it to my stepmom:)
I want to knit them all!
Beautiful hats!
@@Reknits4me thank you!!
@ I have issues with hats sliding up in the back. Do you have any tips or tricks?
@@Reknits4me definitely can discuss next episode!
Sounds great! I’ll watch for it! 🕊️
You look great in pink! =) I'll add that some of the newer yarn constructions might also have the "floppiness" that your new cowl needs, like the Berroco wizard I used for your latest NRNP cowl that is a chainette with nylon + wool roving. Possibly because there are fewer wool fibers for a given thickness of yarn. But not as luxurious as the cashmere, for sure. Hope you are having a relaxing weekend.
@@wendysullivan5511 thank you! Yes absolutely- I have some experience with chain and core yarns and they def add that lightness w/o using luxury fibers.
beautiful!
Good to see you Jenny - glad you are feeling better!
Jenny, you are an amazing artist! Much love from Colorado ❤
Thank you so much:)
"Don't pay attention to my mount", but this is exactly how I knit and I'm so excited to run into a tutorial/chennal that holds the yarn this way!!
@@AndrewMacLaine it’s combination knitting! Love it!
Super helpful information on the Superwash vs. non-superwash for the cowl! Thank you!
@@stephaniebograd3315 glad it helps. I never saw anyone raise this subject and I think ppl should know yarn properties and how they work in patterns
Hi Jenny-always interesting to see what tools others use and like. I hear you on the cat problem with spinning yarn balls on caddies 😂. I’ve never tried. Have to say I am one of those who loves to wind yarn into cakes, even mid-project I sometimes can’t resist rewinding to tidy up my yarn ball…but the important thing is to enjoy the process, right!
@@wendysullivan5511 absolutely! Glad you liked the episode:)
Good info Jenny . I do like how short rows help with the fit.
Absolutely!
Thank you!
glad you enjoyed it!
I love that cashmere ribbed welt cowl. Will you be releasing the pattern soon?
yes! early december - sign up to my newsletter not to miss it:) and thank you!
Thank you 🙏
Hi Jenny - Love that new purple scarf =) And I think that purple is dark enough to be perfect in the colorwork cowl you showed first! I enjoy how you knit with all kinds of (nice) wools.
@@wendysullivan5511 thank you so much - I really do think showing variety of yarns beyond what most ppl see is interesting:)
Super easy to understand, thanks for the help!
Love the way the cowl turned out! I am still working on clue 3! But loving it. Wow! On the candy....
yay! so glad to hear:)
Another awesome episode! I love your pink yarn - so pretty!! I also keep some of my wips in ziplocks, especially when I'm traveling. Somehow it just makes sense to me! I've been on vacation this week, so I had time to stash dive and pick a new cast on which will be another Escher's Dream cowl.
@@Syls_ewenique_knits yes ziplocks are great! Have so much fun!!!
I had to laugh, my Wips are in ziplock bags too. I like to see what is in a bag and zip lock fits the bill. I also am a huge fan of natural fibers, that are not superwashed, and I like more tonal colors rather than variegated and speckled yarn. Thanks for your podcast! I'm excited for the release of your new and revised hats and the cowl.
I also usually prefer non-superwash, but I also love colors. I love heathers and tonals. I also like variegated IF the value of the colors is very close and IF the colors are harmonious. I find that big light/dark differences and strongly contrasting colors are what creates the distractions when variegated yarns are worked into a fabric. The colors in the Everyday shawl you were wearing in this episode are a great example - they would create a cohesive fabric that shows patterning if they were used in a variegated yarn. I dislike totally solid colors - too boring, haha. Question for you: do you find that you like to knit with different colors/color combinations that what you like to wear?
@@wendysullivan5511 excellent question! Mostly yes actually;) this shawl I am wearing is an exception- I rarely wear red but I was so attracted to this in a skein that I had to have it. I am weak when it comes to self repeating long sectional yarn
Agreed about socks…wtf …go buy them and hide them in your shoes on your feet
@@Bethene0317 yup! Bingo
Hey Jenny. Love your everyday shawl. I like tonal wools. I did buy a few skeins from your de stash, and might use them in that shawl. I too love 💯 wool
thank you Carla! nothing like 100% wool!
Thanks for the heads up on the Temu finds. I wish I could use ziplock bags but have cats they try to chew thru them. I did get some lg deli Q bags but still have to put them away because they will try to chew on that too.
Funny enough of my cats loves ziplocks too. Go figure! I have to lock it all up in the closet :)
Love your "interesting" constructions. I was trying to resist NRNP because I have so many projects on the go, but I think I just chose some stash yarn that may work (I may have to add in a second color again. as I did last year, always exciting when I don't know what is coming!)
I am assuming that this shawl is your Shawls Ahoi pattern, which I have absolutely loved knitting. My question is... the icord on the two sides are a two stitch icord. Do you still use three stitch icord for the bind off or should I knit 1, knit 2 tog through back loop?
Hi! I bound off my shawl exactly like it's shown in this video!
Fabulous 👠💄🧶❤
No amount of yarn is too much!🧶
I just need a bigger house lol!
I need to see if you have a shrug in your patterns. I just don’t want to make a ribbed one. Thanks for all your help.
no shrugs yet!
Thanks Jenny! I appreciate your answer. One day I may get in a plane, but no time soon. If I could board, and wake up at Rhinebeck I’d do it haha 🤣 Enjoy that lovely weather. Here too in Kamloops we have full sun. It’s glorious !!
haha it's not the plane that's the issue, for me it's all the bureaucracy that goes with traveling these days. It's just not fun anymore.
