Vikram Seth is an Indian writer known for his novels, poetry, travel writing, and children's books. He was born in Kolkata and spent parts of his youth in India, London, and California. Seth studied at Doon School, Oxford University, and Stanford University. He now lives in England and India. Some of his notable works include the novels The Golden Gate, A Suitable Boy, and An Equal Music, as well as the travel memoir From Heaven Lake and poetry collections Mappings and The Humble Administrator's Garden.
