Originally "burned off" on April 4, 1975 as part of CBS' "FRIDAY COMEDY SPECIAL" {a showcase for "busted" sitcom pilots}.

Now I know this is rare... because it is just the movie reshot for TV... Change up a few of the names and locations and you have the original movie once again... and I have seen the original enough times to know what is coming!! And this lead actor is no Steve Guttenberg...

Does the sun EVER come out in Canada? It looks like they purposely picked the most drab and overcast days to film. It gives an eerie feeling to the show aside from the lack of funny.

This is such a good movie. And I have never seen this Police Academy movie before. And it is kind of different to me. But it is worth the watch and it is still a good and a funny movie to watch.

This Police Academy movie was first released 26 years ago in theaters.

Directors cut fight was better and more realistic. In the theatrical version fender all of a sudden forgets how to fight? Van damme had no chance and the only way to stop fender was to kill him

Where can I find the full series of police academy tv series please

My bro and I always loved this movie (The Theatrical Cut). Only recently had obtained and seen "The Renegade Director's Cut" while my bro saw it back when it had come out. Actually decided to make a B&W version of it as well as properly matte out (black bars) the time stamps. I actually prefer the Director's Cut (Workprint) in black and white over the original colored version (which was all over the place color grade wise). Had read that Albert Pyun originally wanted the film to be in B&W but Cannon (the studio) wouldn't allow it. I think both movie versions compliment one another better this way. I liked Fender's death in the Director's Cut.

Fenders screaming now makes sense since this was supposed to be a death metal musical.

Yeah, the original version is the best. Directors cut worth a look though if youre a big fan.

I think I slightly prefer the directors cut although the fishing village raid is cut out, which is an important scene. The ending is better and there's more narration. I think of them more as one film showing different parts of a whole.

This women is responsible for my ongoing carpel tunnel issues. Many a lonely night as a teen spent with Shannon Tweed movies.
