I could definitely see that happening. I think a lot of people should go and look at the year prior. They finished 10-3, but the team easily could have been 11-2 or 12-1 if Noah was the QB. This team this year has most of that core back. Even offensive line looks good.

D-line is voted to be one of the best in the SEC this year. We added Jules from Pitt and Goodwine from Alabama to go with Boogie, Tonka and TJ Sanders. Did you guys really look deep into our team. We also added a 6’4” wr from Nevada and another kid from FSU and Josh Simon and Brady Hunt are 2 really good TE’s. Our O-line was so banged up last year we used TE’s as O-Lineman in practice. Don’t judge 2024 off of 2023

Ostrenga is going to be a 1st or 2nd round NFL pick. More athletic than Lachey and a better blocker. They are loaded at TE. Not as bullish on McNamara ad you all are. He has durability issues. But I think Sullivan is a solid back up and is much more mobile than aby QB Iowa has had since Bethard.

If this oline can protect the QB, Dante Reno is deadly accurate. Luke Doty is also a very good QB. Sanders has been very banged up as well as Oscar Adaway. Jawarn Howell will be the bell cow running back that this team will live and die with. Howell is a hard nosed north south runner. Sort of a poor man's Marcus Lattimore. For SC to be successful Howell will need 800 - 1000 yards on the ground. This is a guy with a chip on his shoulder who takes pride in himself and that block G on his helmet. This is year 4 and the excuses and the honeymoon is over. It's time to quit worrying about KENTUCKY and LSU , and for LSU , KENTUCKY, and CLEMSON to start worrying about the warriors donning the garnet and black. I'm not expecting a national championship, but I'm expecting to compete and for this team to expect victory everytime we put on those shoulder pads and lace up those cleats. I'm fully anticipating a 4-0 start.

Defense will be nasty, like in the 90's... Don't think B Turner gets moved from the 2nd D end...Think he breaks out this year..

I'm a big Ute fan, but they lost both Rose bowl games to Ohio State and Penn State, and haven't achieved the elite status, but are expected to be strong this year. The team will go as Rising goes, so they better have strong replacements in case of injury again.

When you reach your argument on Matt Campbell, Both years under McGuire we finished winning our last five games in '22 and won 5 out of 6 in '23. McGuire always gets teams to finish strong they've just gotten derailed by QB injuries.

I don’t think last year will have any effect on this years team at all I mean in they lost 3 in a row in 22 and didn’t effect them the rest of the season.

Did you watch Iowa last year? That game vs Nebraska was lost until Chubba Purdy threw a gift to Iowa defense.

Iowa State has a better defense than Utah in 3 of the last 4 years. I was excited to add Utah to the big 12, but the way everyone wants to crown them as champions of big 12 without playing a game is laughable. I was all in on them representing Big 12 in CFP. Unfortunately the way this has gone, has caused me to lean towards rooting against them in every game this season. Go cougars?

I agree, Utah will be one of the top teams. But before you cast the ring and form a crown, maybe you need to wait until they play a few conference games. Utah fits a B12 model on developing teams, but I don't see them as being better than Kansas State, OSU, KU, ISU, etc. Flashes? Since the formation of the B12, K-State has been a consistent winner. Since the start of the B12, K-State's season record is 19 winning, 6 losing (including the COVID season) and 2 ties(6-6). Seven of the 19 wins were seasons with 11 wins, with 4 in a row and 6 out of 7. It took TX 15 yrs. to finally win their 4th B12 championship. Before that TX, Baylor and Kansas State were tied for 2nd most B12 championships at 3. Since Coach Klieman came to K-State, his record against OU is 3-1. Utah will be a factor in the B12. The "standard", that's a wait and see.

Yea they can- Texas Tech is truly a sleeping giant. Billionaire donors who are involved. Top 3 basketball facilities in the country. Top track facility in the country . Now the new upgrade to their south end stadium will make it the top Big 12 stadium and largest football facility in the entire country. Huge alumni base who runs Dallas/Fort Worth. Over 40k students. Very underrated. The potential is enormous

"Not a lot of sustained success"??? Has he ever heard of Ok State? Same head coach last 19 years. Won at least 7 games, and went to a bowl game the last 18 in a row. 10, nine win seasons. Won 12 bowl games in the Gundy era. Develops 3 star guys into winners. Very similar results to Utah.

Let's play a season before making such an assertion.

I am of course an Iowa fan, and as such I have to be optimistic about their progress. I really do think this season could see them as a top 4 or 5 in the big. If Cades leg comes around they could be even higher. With a good or better offence they will be able to rest the D a little instead of the D playing over 90 plays as they did at Penn St. If you look at the yards made in the big ten championship, Michigan didn't really light it up. They got all of the breaks, two of their touchdowns only covered 11 yards. One on a fumble that was controversial and one was a great return on a punt. The controversy was that no one thought it was a fumble. The Mich player picked the ball up to give it to the ref, he didn't try to run it in. Just one game but I had to address it because it looked bad and was embarrassing.

Donny could not be more wrong about us wanting a 12-0 or 11-1 team every year. Not the same team anyway. We like parody. That being said, Oklahoma State has been the most consistent team in the Big 12 by far. Been to a bowl game and had 7 plus wins every single year since 2006. Oklahoma State could be a dangerous team now that OU and Texas are gone.
