Good for you, man! My first impression is that your family was probably shocked to hear you are now a motorcycle guy, but then on further thought, I would more lean towards them thinking, "Nothing he does surprises us!" Relax & chill now! Thanks for sharing.

I am in my 60's and live a life very similar to your description. 7 acres, gardens, orchard, chickens, dogs, cats etc. Don't get me wrong, I love it & the peace and solitude it affords me, but each year becomes more difficult to have the energy to keep up with everything. I will scale WAY back by the time I am in my 80's if I am still here. With regard to how things have changed over the years, I can speak to growing up in the 60's in the conservative US Midwest. TV was showing lots of Vietnam war protests and race riots. Assassinations were somewhat regular there for awhile. As a kid I don't remember people cultishly following political figures like we see now. Church was telling us to "love one another" but also making it clear who we should not love. As a gay kid, it was not an easy time. Like you, I don't have a "fix" for things now, but I can say, things were not all sunshine and roses in older days.

Wow this is a fantastic perspective, thank you for sharing! I hear the same thing from my cousin out in Kansas, that it gets quite hard to keep up with everything. It's also really interesting to hear from someone that shows the grass wasn't always greener, I appreciate that.

Speaking as someone very active with a non stop to do list, mostly physical stuff, don't wait too long. The younger you are, the easier it is to get all that stuff done :- ) As for the cats, yes, wonderfully entertaining and great pals. They actually lead parallel lives, but are willing to share them with us in exchange for very little. I have a memo posted, a commonly heard bit of wisdom ("If not now, when?) , but it's a great little nudge!

The next time you are lamenting no having a regular "crowd" to hang with, remember this particular coffee shop crowd and feel lucky that you are mostly a lone wolf. Granted we don't know the whole situation, but Yikes! Sometimes it's best to be doing your own thing! St. Louis is my nearest city...hope you enjoy your time there. Seems like you have a good balance of trust in the process and introspection. Micro decisions and macro effects, maybe the word you are looking for is "the butterfly effect"? My childhood friend and I used to think a lot about that when we were kids, like just going for a walk, could change your whole life in a big way.

I don't know squat about Instagram, but your idea about starting over with a clean slate is probably a good one. As far as putting a face on your product, I would tend to agree. You are quite handsome, and you may as well let that benefit you to whatever extent that it may. Videos instead of just pics would show that you are well spoken and not just another pretty face. I was on Facebook from 2020 till earlier this year. I got rid of it because I got tired of my "friends" concentrating on politics, I haven't missed it yet!

I don't necessarily think that it's young people "nowadays"...I think it's always been the case. I taught school for 36 years and over that time, (regardless of what some people would say), young people have not changed a great deal. You (Peter) can't measure them by what you see/feel in yourself, because you are atypical in some ways (in a GOOD way!). I think people become self-aware when the need arises, on an individual basis. Some are perfectly happy to amble through life kind of cluelessly, but if they are happy, they see no need to change (nor should they, I suppose). It's when someone feels a need to take a good hard look at oneself that progress is made on self-awareness. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Be safe.

I would almost call these things "tradeoffs" rather than "sacrifices." Leaving a place where you weren't being fulfilled doesn't seem severe enough to be a sacrifice. Giving up something you hold dear is a sacrifice. I am not meaning to sound harsh...it is probably just 2 different ways to convey the same thing.... I absolutely agree that this is the right time in your life to do this. See where it takes you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

RE: Messages vs. Calls....Some would say calls are more effective because it's not as easy for them to say "not interested", but I might argue that if they are inclined to say, "not interested, " you may as well know right away with a message instead of being jerked around in person by someone who doesn't want to hurt your feelings etc. Plus, if you are more comfortable with messages, you are apt to do many more of them, thus increasing coverage over what calls might have been. Just my 2 cents worth! Take care & stay safe!

A couple of thoughts... 1. Based on my observation of the way you operate, these videos/journals have become a very valuable part of your day. Can you imagine if you suddenly stopped doing them? I think your head would explode, or you would drive everyone in your daily life crazy with thoughts and reflections! I don't say that in a flippant or belittling way, it just seems that you are a person who wants/needs to think things through and reflect regularly in order to function at the top of your game. Respect to you! 2. Someday when you are famous, the 267(?) unpublished daily vlogs may become highly sought after! 3. Regarding your channel growth/pressures. Speaking for myself, not all comments necessitate a reply if that gets to be overwhelming or tedious. Like you, some things I write/comment are just things I am sending into the universe, so just by writing them and thinking them through, I have gotten value from the process of commenting. Thanks as always. Stay safe.

Your ego seems transfixed on being accepted and understood by others through shared values. Why do you need validated by others to know your own worth? Why does everyone around you need to be a reflection of yourself? Don't you think there's value in people being themselves?

These are great questions and I actually appreciate you taking the time to watch and leave some though provoking questions. I understand your pushback. I wouldn't go so far as to say my self worth is tied to validation of others or needing everyone around me to be a reflection of my own values. I would, however, say that there's a distinct sense of belonging when you ARE around people who share your values (which also, doesn't mean they are a direct reflection of you). This is something I haven't experienced to this extent until this weekend. Up until this point I've felt more isolated. That idea was what I was hoping to explore and capture in the video. It can be hard with such a limited context. Thanks again for watching and leaving your comment!

I think that on this trip, you are in an exciting location surrounded by people who you connect with and who all have good ideas. This may cause a bit of a "rush" during which everything sounds like a good idea at the time. You are super smart to step back and let the "newness" of the idea cool off & then take a look later, based on what your true objectives are. It sounds that you have it all under control. Good for you!

Jesus Christ, pull yourself together you wimp, you don't need a spoon for a yoghurt, drink it and then scoop the rest out with the lid or your finger.

It's probably because you look Spanish 😅, a lot of young Spanish guys have the exact same style of facial hair as you. Very, very common
