In March 1986 Q.P.R.achieved the impossible by beating Liverpool over two legs in the Milk Cup Semi Final. It was apt that at the time a song by Billy Ocean called " When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going) was riding high in the U.K charts spending four weeks at number one. For many Q.P.R. fans of that era this song brings back many happy memories of beating that season's League and F.A...

Those were the days, my friends!! 🇮🇱
Proper lad 😂
His autobiography is absolutely brilliant. He gambled on everything. Football was just a way of making money to fund his gambling.
honest
This ground is in part till standing, well was when I visited Iceland one changing shed left...
I rembeer that night, great night!!! TYouRs!!!!!
Was there, bit of trouble in the Paddock if I recall. I normally always stood there, but was in the Loft for this game - thankfully
Used to love it in the paddocks
What an achievement! To win the league Cup as a third division team!!! Absolutely demolished Birmingham in the 2 leg semi. My Dad was 21 during this season. What a time to be a Rangers fan. Promotion and league Cup winners! Makes me smile thinking about the celebrations. 😂
Lovely three goals, lovely win!!
A brilliant point gained by the R's against the so-called Liverpool "superstars"!
So called, your still bitter then after all these years.
@@Ramps-rc9iy Me?? Bitter???? Naaa, never bitter!! You'll never walk alone!! 😂😂

Alan Mullery was a fine player , world class . Your name is what ?
Irrelevant. Football is all about opinions
Fool - he only wanted the job because his ego thought he was better than TV, but as Charlie George told Revie when subbed after 45 minutes for England. 'You've subbed me for Keegan, he isn't fit to lace my boots, hold on sorry, one of my boots'. Mullery was a fool who proved he wasn't in the same universe as TV in a very short period
Think I was at this...
Lived life on his terms, for good or bad!
What a fantastic team! What a fantastic year!!!
In 1992 it was still pretty rare to have Sky. It only launched in ‘89/‘90. I had to go round my Auntie’s house, a friend who had Sky or a pub to watch a live match. It felt so glamorous when you were only used to four channels! 😆

Alan McDonald is by far my favourite QPR player of all time x
Love my club QPR
Today Brian Clough would have eaten Nigel Farage for breakfast!
Without any doubt Stan was a World Class Footballer ... BUT he would not stick to rules ... THAT was his Downfall
9:40 No one likes to see that on a football pitch. _EVERYONE likes to see that on a football pitch!!!!_ 😆
This was before his fling with Dani Behr right?
30:52 to 30:56i like sky transition And 16:49 to 16:53 with voice me like it
England were useless.
I still reckon 66/67 was better
Great player. International quality.
I remember that season well I was nine. I remember watching the R's on Match of the Day. What a wonderful team that was.
TV bought in reassurance at QPR, great tactician with every area of the pitch well managed
Always kicked off. I guess that's why it stopped.
hughes was a vile creep - good old Michael Robinson
Thank god he was sacked and should not have been appointed...
funny how we always have something dropped on us before big games or events - bloody FA hate us
Peter Hucker getting into his Mini
The Everton game mentioned is the game where Pat Van Den Hauwe became Psycho Pat and that goal at 4.20 is probably the greatest goal ever scored UTFT
Don Revie had a hell of a run on the media with Brian Clough...that QPR board does it still say "South Africa Road End"🤔
He came back to the UK again on a permanent basis in 1984, seeking to land the post of QPR boss, and saying: "I never thought I'd have the chance to get back into the English game but I have discovered I have missed the involvement. I've been away seven years and don't know everything about First Division players. But I'm still able to get on to the training pitch and after 40 years, I feel I have something to offer the game." However, Revie fell out with Rangers chairman Jim Gregory over the package, prompting the QPR supremo to say: "The terms he asked for then were not those he was seeking when I met him. In view of his increased demands, I have unfortunately come to the conclusion that I no longer wish Mr Revie to be the new manager of Queen's Park Rangers."
When qos was great.. Not so more
What a brilliant player for the Owls. 22 goals each season from 1981/82 to 1983/84. Had everything.
Aguero! Fixture 20 years earlier...
Barry Davies quoting Oscar Wilde in commentary, wonderful stuff
💙🤍
Yes, greatest side, no question.
Good night. Thank you so much for the video. Bravo! Enjoyed and liked. Greetings and loves from me. Baku city
The best QPR shirt. I'm a Pompey fan and Neill and Fillery played for us,Fenwick managed us.
Gosh TV did really well at QRR. When they reached that FA Cup semi final they were up against Cyrille Regis at his best. When they reached the final they were up against Glenn Hoddle at his best.
