A manga with little to no likeable characters creates no comfort zone for the reader and it genuinely feels terrible to go page after page of worse and more depressing darker content. That’s the most vague description ever berserk but it’s a worthy explanation of the series

For me it felt like Griffith blamed Guts for the Stuff that happened to him after Guts left the Hawks and thats his kind of revenge. Griffith couldnt know that both were going to be saved by Skullknight, so it seemed like he wanted to inflict pain to Guts. Dont know if he had a motive to hurt Casca but maybe he wanted to gain control over her again, after she broke free of him due to her Relationship with Guts. Im currently reading the manga again and noticed how Casca looked at Griffith while he was crippled. It looked like petty, but not like admiration anymore.
