Understandable, I get what you’re saying. To be honest, I agree with you. He didn’t have to put it like that. Although, I’d not say that he was feeling insecure, more like “Show off the fact that he’s got more heirlooms than I”. He and I joke sometimes on that fact and it’s fun to joke about it together. Of course, when it’s together. Though, he does it the way he did, sometimes it’s a bit too much and redundant to hear, so I decide not care and brush off what he says when it comes to him putting me down. I don’t let it affect me and I don’t think I should. I simply let it go and move on with my life since it’s not much of a big deal. Idt it should be a big deal. I appreciate your concern though. 🙂 I could talk to him to stop doing that but I don’t think it’d help since he does it a lot of times (not just to me). Low blows sometimes. I simply because I do not feel like arguing with him. It’s either he gets the attention or he thinks he’s won by having me let it slide. Though, when it’s in jokes and we can all laugh together, that’s ok but yeah, I get where you’re coming from. He likes mentioning he’s got many heirlooms to his friends, family or persons. He’s happy about them. Though, as much as I’m happy for him, I’d like him to be a bit more humble and just be happy for others sometimes when such a thing happens to them, too. He can sometimes self-centred or so. He also has a bit of an ego (sometimes, it can inflate, lol) when it comes to games or so. All I can do is sigh either literally and/or mentally when it happens and say nothing, then brush it off. Mostly, when it regards things like this. He’s done it multiple times and he will keeps on doing it even if it’s not always about this topic. I think it makes him feel better in some way or another even if he could tell me “No, it isn’t the case”. Mostly when he gets angry at a game because of people “sucking” or so at the game because they either didn’t do what they “should have done” to aid him or whatever, end result being them losing the match or him dying. I don’t really feel like arguing with him when he seems to be in a foul mood or whatsoever. Mostly not over games. It’s true it doesn’t really make things fun for me when he does what he did in the video but well, I’m not going to defend him and say “But he’s my friend”. He can do that by himself if he wants to and if he cares to care. I’m just sharing a bit of my thoughts regarding the topic/context. Mind you, he spent money on the game to get those heirloom shards/heirlooms. Meanwhile, I don’t and he jokes about me being broke. I do try to dissuade him from spending money too much on game but he does he. I don’t really put much thoughts into it since I don’t control him. The only consequences will be brought by his own actions and he has to live with them.

@@Ultrakrokmou I'll be completely honest with you, this guy sounds extremely toxic and insecure and it more so sounds like you've convinced yourself that you have to deal with it just to avoid what happens if you don't accept his toxicity. I don't blame you, but I feel like it should be brought to your attention that you are very clearly trying to make up excuses for him when you clearly know his behavior is not acceptable. You say you don't think he is insecure, but at the same time you admit that he feels the need to put others down to make himself feel better, that is literally insecurity. He isn't sure of himself or his own achievements so he has to put others down as a way assure himself that he is good enough, as in if others are worse than him, he must be better. This is honestly both very toxic but also very cringe, childish behavior. When your friend gets something cool, why not just be happy for them, why not cheer with them? Instead your friend almost sounded insulted when you got an heirloom, it only took a second or 2 of you cheering for them to start trying to put you down and they immediately had to point out they have more than you, as if that even matters..?? They are so insecure that your achievement somehow becomes a loss to them, their insecurity turns your joy into an attack on them, when in reality it could have been a happy moment for both of you... I'd also guess that since he spent a lot of money trying to get those heirlooms, you getting one for free made him feel even more insecure because it means at least part of the money he spent was a waste since you got it for free, it means his "achievement" is worth less now. Also as a side note, someone bragging about money and putting others down for having less money is like the biggest sign that someone is insecure there is... Ultimately, I have to be honest with you, your friend is extremely toxic and insecure and you deserve better. I'd actually recommend you distance yourself from them as if what you say is true, it seems you're not happy with their treatment of you and they likely only use you to have someone to put down in order to elevate themselves. I've seen this happen many times before, these kind of people also tend to not have many friends due to their behavior and I'd almost be willing to bet that if you cut them off they'd be on their knees begging for you to come back. So if I were you I wouldn't worry about what happens if you don't keep up with his behavior, as again, I'd almost bet he would be the one begging you for forgiveness, not the other way around. Also looking at your other videos he seems generally unpleasant to be around, he sounds very demanding, spoiled and insecure. It should also be mentioned that there is a possibility that he is trying to flirt with you (very weird way to flirt, I know), assuming he's into you. I've seen plenty of guys, especially in shooter games who behave this way around love interests for some reason. I guess they think by doing this they make themselves look "cool" or something..? This is just speculation though and even if I was to be right and even if you were to be remotely interested in him back, you should take his behavior as a MASSIVE red flag.

It’s true he can be really immature and childish but he’s only turning eighteen next month. It’s more a mix of immaturity and childishness than toxicity, to be honest. What he does like he did in the video is mostly done without him thinking much about the consequences of his actions since it doesn’t really affect him. It’s not voluntary what he said when he said what he said in the video. If he really meant it, he wouldn’t have sounded so disinterested, to be honest. True, what he said, I shouldn’t tolerate. I do talk to him about it and he understands, so he’s mindful. He just slips here and there but the occasions aren’t as bad as they seem in all honesty. I do know him personally, and I can tell you that compared to actual people I met who were truly toxic, he’s just immature and childish. Don’t worry, I got rid of the toxic people from my life never to be seen again, lol. So yeah, he’s a pretty much chill person to hangout with when you get to know him personally on regular basis. There are ups and downs but never any toxicity. There used to be a few times where I didn’t like what he said or did and I talked to him about those. He said he understood and would stop which is true and he respected it and me. I hope it clear some things up if there were any misunderstandings or some things of the alike. Regarding the flirting, he’s not into me nor is he flirting with me. Plus, it’d be illegal and I’d feel weird and quite uncomfortable for me to be dating him nor am I into him. I’m not interested in relationships. Though, I like the fact that you considered that a possibility. I appreciate it. Thanks for your understanding.

Players got waaay sweatier and tryharding hard. xD Yeah, on my side, it was one of the few cases I queued up solo in pubs and I was still kind of new at the game. I also loved how we played.
