Please Owala Free-Sip water bottle link isn't working 😢
It might depend on the country you're in. It works for me (based in the UK). If the link isn't working just search for the bottle on amazon or on their website. I'm sure there are loads for sale
For home i prefer 1200ml straw one. For travel anything that will keep warm or cold without spilling, and a car holderr will help.
The free sip feature makes me an Owala buyer. The moms can keep their Stanleys.
That's a cool video and you are a great TH-cam video persona!
@@justaguy2567 thank you so much 😊
great & fun vid as always-and love the accents of course😄
This is like the 3rd or 4th time I've watched this video xD I love it, it's fun and a good succinct solid overview of the backpack! I'm sooo excited because my Shell has arrived at my friend's (doesn't ship to China) so I'll be getting it in a few days!🤩😍😁 As I mentioned in comment to your Hive video, I'd love if you could compare others backpacks from Tropicfeel, including the Nook and Nest ^^
@@ZachAgape thank you so much! I love that you liked the video that much to watch it multiple times haha. Hope you enjoy the bag 🙂
One of the best/most efficient review of Hive, thanks a lot! I'd also love further comparison to Hive 2.0 as it's quite lacking on the internet (there's a single low quality 17min video comparing them-and if you happen to get your hands on Nest and Nest 2.0, I did not find a single comparison of these two online). Personally what discards Hive 1.0 is having a front laptop location, which thankfully has been fixed in 2.0. I love the little/comments jokes you add as text onto the video😂 Really loved your video on Shell as well, keep it up! And if you have time, I'd be curious to watch a comparison of Shell and Hive and what you think are the advantages or inconvenients of each compared to the other ^^
@@ZachAgape thank you so much again! If I can get my hands on the other backpacks I’ll definitely do a review
@ you're very welcome, great thanks, and I appreciate both your comment responses☺️ Have a lovely week, take care!🫶
Bro I read your comment, realized there's a Hive 2.0(for some reason its shown alll the way at the bottom on their site), and I bought it right away! Like you said, they legit listened to feedback and improved everything that sucked about 1.0 I should get the bag in two/three days and will do a week long trip with it. After that Ill upload a video for others to check!
@@jonbikaku6133 Hey, thanks so much for sharing!☺️ I'm glad my comment helped and indeed it's weird why the keep it at the bottom of the site! I guess they want to empty the stocks of the 1.0 first? You can also find the Hive and Nest 2.0 whenever you're looking at any of their backpacks and scroll down to where you can select their other backpacks to compare with😊 I agree, it seems like a good improvement overall! I still wish it had 2 water bottle pockets though haha And yay, thanks so much, I can't wait to see your review/comparison about it!😁🥰 I'll subscribe to you so I hopefully see it when you upload🫶
@@jonbikaku6133 Have you received the bag and had the chance to do your week long trip with it? ^^

Really well explained, thanks a lot, and keep the hard work!
@@Vivalbasket14 thank you! glad you found it useful 😁
Re: the quick access org issue - there’s a hidden passport compartment along the side of the backpack closest to your back, and there’s another pouch for chargers/wires/etc that’s hard to see between the main body of the pack and the area with the vestigial plastic nipples
What's the bottle like when it's filled with carbonated water? I've read that it officially doesn't hold it but would be interested in ur experience with it. I really like their design but highly prefer carbonated water...
@@rosally I wish I could help you but I only ever put still water in my water bottles, sorry
My favourite bag !
Прекрасный обзор с хорошим монтажом, спасибо
I just want to know if these can handle hot beverages. I'm a hot tea drinker.
@@girlgreenivy because of the straw included I’d say no. But I suppose the straw could be removed and it would be fine. However I’d recommend getting a dedicated hot drink flask.

I love this bag too! But I find that it's a bit heavy even when it's empty. What do you think?
@@TravelwithYiew can’t say it’s a factor I consider for day to day use for me. However I did notice I couldn’t put as much in it as I liked because of airline carry on weight limits when travelling in the Philippines.
@@tristbrook Cool! thanks for sharing :)
Nice video, Any update about Owala?
@@WasifAnton thank you. It’s still a great bottle and no issues so far
Awesome review!! You need more subs!! 🎉🎉🎉❤
@@nomadkids_de thank you 😁
I love the style of your videos, surprised you don’t have more followers. However! You spent 2.5 minutes talking about what it didn’t do and just 30 seconds reviewing the actual bottle. Should’ve been the opposite in my opinion. I would barely know what’s it looks like had I only watched this video. Guarantee that if you fix the story line of your videos, a lot more people will watch.
Thank you for the feedback. I originally filmed more good points about the Owala but felt I was repeating myself too much after listing a bunch of things that makes a water bottle good around the 30s mark. So figured highlighting the main stand out feature is all that needed to be spoken about. I will definitely consider your points for the next video I make :)
I had this water bottle owala for a year and it the best water bottle I ever had
just bought one😊❤
Getting one of the iced breeze 32oz water bottle on Friday! Super excited!! 😆
Could I use this bottle without the straw?
You can still use it regularly to drink like a regular cup, bottle, etc. The straw is just there so you don't have to tilt it to take a drink.
@@sharonramirez6665 definitely!
How is it now?
@@Obedthian-UK still perfect. No complaints at all
Really excellent review video!! Thank you!!
Very good video pal, keep it up!
@@mrbladenft thank you 😁
This was a great review. I found it after purchasing the bag but it makes me feel confident that I have made a good purchase. It would be great to see a review from you on the wardrobe and pouches for this bag, so that you can put your 'nipples' to good use!
Thank you! That's a good idea! My girlfriend has the wardrobe and a few other accessories, so I'll definitely be doing this
Hi, great review and production. I was wondering if you could also make a review for the Shelter backpack from Tropicfeel. I'm planning on traveling to Asia in a couple of months and I am looking for a convertible clamshell backpack. But the marketing feels really focussed on only a few aspects of the bag. In the video you mentioned that you also used the shelter so was interested in your opinion. And if you could make a review even better! Also subscribed btw :)
Hey! Glad you liked the review. And thank you for subscribing :) I would make a review but unfortunately I've sent the Shelter bag back. So I'll write out my thoughts for you. There were a few things about the bag I didn't quite get on with such as the side and front straps always coming undone and the roll top (I just don't like roll top bags I found out). But more specifically for your use intentions I wouldn't recommend it because the size isn't quite right. It's too big as a daily use bag, and for carry on. Yet it's not big enough to maximise the checked bag size allowance you get on airlines. Personally I would either go with two cabin bags or one large hiking backpack and a sling back like the Wandrd 6L for carry on. I hope that helps. Happy to answer any more questions :)
@@tristbrook thanks for the reply. That indeed answered my questions about it. Might buy the shell bag for a daily carry and for small weeks away and look further for a bigger backpack Thanks!
Hey! Considering buying one of these... as a avid water drinker, I'm thinking about buying a 40 oz bottle. Do you think that after being filled the handle will be flimsy, or break off?? Looks a little thin and 40 oz bottles do tend to be heavy when filled, and I can imagine the handle not being great in that case, but then again I could be wrong. Is it a sturdy handle? And another question, does the material on the lid get dirty easy? Saw a review that mentioned it and I'm considering getting the all white color. Thanks for the help :D. Take care and keep doing what you do!
@@brynnchristensen2005 hey! Although it doesn’t look it the handle is very sturdy. I often carry it from the handle when full or hang it on hooks etc. I had the same concern but it’s honestly been okay. I haven’t noticed the material on the lid getting dirty however I have bought it in grey so it could be concealing it. The material is quite soft so I can see how a white version could hold/show dirt. Hope that helps 😊
@tristbrook Thank you so much!! And a question that I've had but can't find in the videos is is the straw easy to drink out of or awkward at all (compared to most other bottles)? I'll probably use the straw the most and I still want to be able to comfortably chug out the straw, lol. Thanks again 🙂
@@brynnchristensen2005 No problem :) - The straw is very easy to drink from, I use it most of the time and it's the easiest I've ever used
@@tristbrook Thanks again! Take care 🙂🙂🙂
It sounds like you want an omds em1 Mkii. Weather proof with the 12-40 mm f2.8 (24-80) lens. Best image stability. Not an attention grabber and on and on. Nice video
Thank you for the recommendation. I'll check it out :)
Just got one of these. I'd been using a generic plastic bottle for years. I'm loving this bottle and wish I had it years ago. I wasn't even particularly worried about the insulation but it delivers. Just so nice to know that water's going to be nicely chilled. I doubt I'll ever need to find out if it really lasts 24 hours but it stays cold as long as my water's in there. But the game changer for me is that spout. It's just so simple when you think about it but it just works so well.
That's great! Totally agree. The drinking spout has made such a difference
Great and very informative video! :) What is your favorite backpack from Tropicfeel? Can't decide if I should buy this one or the Shelter..
@@onechilleddumpling thank you! Oooo I’ve not tried all of them yet but I have had the Shelter and my girlfriend owns the Hive. In my opinion the Shelter is too much. Too many straps that don’t stay in place. Not big and comfortable enough for backpacking but not small enough for carry on. Out of those 3 I prefer the Shell. But I’m keen to try the Nest and the Nook as a smaller daily carry option. Hope that helps?
@@tristbrook That helps a lot, thank you so much for your answer! :) I bought the Shell, really looking forward to it.
Is it not just marginally better than a good iphone?
I somewhat agree. Because it's a designed specifically as a camera it has quite a few features that make it a lot better than an iPhone. But if you're happy with the experience of using an iPhone to capture video then that's great :)
in which ratio you’ve taken the video on pocket 3??
Best review I've seen on this, you deserve more subs.

We need an update on the Owala! I've been using mine for a couple of days and I like it. Would love to hear your opinion after almost a month!
So far it’s been perfect. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. You’ve made a great purchase. 😁
@@tristbrook Let's go! Glad I picked the best one out of the bunch! Cheers!
Two issues with Owala water bottles: 1) The exterior surface is slippery as a mother if it gets even a slight amount of liquid on it which is bound to happen when filling. I returned it for this reason alone. Infuriating slipperiness. I was thinking of buying latex tubing to tie on a two-ended handle to slip my hand in, etc. but I just went with the Contigo lock-top 32 oz. and Coleman 40-oz lock-top, neither of which are slippery when wet. The Coleman doesn't seem to retain cold as long as the Contigo and it does seem a Stanley handle would be nice (along with the narrowed base for car cup holders). 2) The plastics in the lid are cheaper and retain odors. I got a two-pack from Costco and one lid retained a muted and unpleasant Earl Grey Tea scent and the other got a sort of musty scent to it, not sure from what, but opening the bottle after washing it presented the smell of something you'd expect to find at a thrift store, not less than a month old and properly cared for and washed.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing your experiences. I've personally had none of those issues. I actually just got the bottle wet to see if would make it difficult to hold and there doesn't seem to be an issue. I've also never experienced any weird scents. Did you buy the Owala free-sip? Maybe there is a difference between the ones sent to the UK and the US. Such a shame. I hope you find a good one soon that's right for you :)
The perfect "big" waterbottle would actually be those "Simply Grapefruit" bottles, with the narrow neck and wider base. If only they weren't plastic. A plain steel one would be great, no need for vacuum-double wall either, the shape is great for large volume. In the same size as the juices but also maybe a taller one, same footprint. Nothing fancy for the lid, but a lanyard so it can hang off the side while drinking so it could be a one-handed affair.
@@tristbrook There might even be a difference in the two-pack versions for Costco or bigbox stores. It was definitely the FreeSip. The plastics used it in seemed to be of a slightly lower quality/density (hard to say, like variance between car interiors, some seem "cheaper") The exterior surface has a fine small-grain dapple to it, and when wet it's a real bear to keep it from slipping through my fingers. The Coleman bottle has a similar texture, but no slippage. (This one: "FreeFlow AUTOSEAL® 40 oz Stainless Steel Water Bottle") It felt like some kind of prank, like "how could they DO this to me?" XD
@@tristbrooknah king you did a great job and the Owala is a solid product. Some folks just don’t clean their product properly
It says that it’s only good for water on their website
Have you tried using this bag with a budget airline?
Yes! I've used it as my only bag on Easy Jet or Ryan Air when we went to Scotland for a short trip. I wouldn't recommend maxing out the bags capacity by filling the kangaroo pouch though
Sold , I would like dis bottle

Did you have regular crocs or all terrain crocs? (I feel embarrassed. I completely forgot about crocs and sport mode!)
@@tristbrook not the regular ones, the ones with bigger more robust lower part(don't know how to call it) but damn I never wore crocs after that hike haha

Love tropic feel shoes ! So adaptable !
That's a lot of gear for my taste. I take a M4/3 a couple of lenses and a small super zoom 1inch sensor backup. But, I'm older and my back would not deal well with such a mass of gear.
Weight is definitely a big factor and very personal preference with how much we are each willing to carry. I’m always trying to reduce the weight but maximise quality and versatility
I agree with a good bit of this
Good to know! I’m interested - what would you do differently?
@@tristbrook the only thing I'd say I'd do differently is I do make use of my ND filters if I wanna shoot video with my big camera. You're right about them being a pain in the ass but I suffer through it. And while slightly less useful I'll still bring one of those little lights they've come in handy a time or two. Everything else is spot on.
@@jmackultra Your comment about suffering sums it up! What we are willing to suffer through dictates what we are willing to take. The release of Peter McKinnons new ND and Polariser in one filter might change my mind on filters
What about an Insta360 x3 or newest x4?
During filming I mentioned about buying one but cut it during editing as it didn’t feel right to comment on a camera I haven’t used or own. Planning to buy one though. The reviews look great and hoping it could be a replacement for the GoPro. Do you have an x3 or x4?
