Hello my friend! My name is Vitaliy. Welcome to my channel!
I’m a blacksmith from the Ural Mountains. For the past 10 years, I’ve been hammering, grinding, quenching, and hardening, turning cold-rolled steel into cool pieces of craftsmanship.I make axes, blades, and all sorts of blacksmithing tools. Here, you can watch me bring ‘em to life. Check it out and smash that bell to stay in the loop!

Forged a replica of the billnas axe
Billnas are the most beautiful and reliable on the market, they are already considered vintage. Now almost no one makes them, mostly old samples are restored. Therefore, I decided to forge a similar one, but did it work out? Write in the comments.

Forged Splitting Ax with Handle Guard
One of the ways to make the axe handle live longer is to protect it with additional reinforcement. At the same time, to make it a beautiful part of the axe, as a result, it turned out to forge such an axe for chopping firewood. The weight of the head was: 1.5kg The length of the handle: 550mm My telegram channel: t.me/forgingchannel
The Yakut axe! Or rethinking the Yakut knife
If you type a Yakut knife into Google, you will be shown a knife with a forged blade with dozens of variations and designs. It looks interesting and original. But since I do not make knives, and my professional activity is mainly axes, I was inspired by the ideas to make a Yakut axe and recorded it on video for you. Inatagram: / @owl.axe owl.axe
Forging a small blacksmith's hammer
As a rule, forging hammers are not sold in stores. They need to be bought from other craftsmen or remade from simple hammers. Or forge a new one, so in this video I will show you how to make a new beautiful hammer that will serve you for a very long time and perhaps not only you but also your children, so let’s start with a small weight and make a small hammer Inatagram: / @owl.axe instagram.co...

Forging axe tools
I decided to show a very important part of the axe forging process, these are his tools, without which it would be unrealistic to forge an axe. Therefore, it was decided to divide the forging of the axe into 2 parts, the tools themselves and the axe. Inatagram: / @owl.axe owl.axe?igshid=MzMyNGUyNmU2YQ &
I enjoyed the making of the Yakut Axe. I appears to b extremely useful.
Thank you
Magnifique travail bravo 👍
Thanks
I never thought the overstrike protector would be integral to the axe head. That is clever
Thanks
Great work!
Thanks
Great video! i would love to know what power hamer are you using, mind sharing that? I,m looking for one myself but have no idea how much power i need to make stuff like this.
Thanks, I have a 160,80,40kg hammer at my disposal. Take something in the middle, it's always more versatile. But the best purchase would be a hydraulic press)
Thank @@Owl_axe for your reply. I will research the hydrologic press before I make any decisions, good tip. In the mean time I keep watching you video's 👊
👏👏👏... thats very very looks good.. really like that.. thats very useful. for me

Thank you
Fixing a hundreds of year old invention! ❤
Thank you)
Cool video
Thank you
Topppp

You do absolutely outstanding work. The size and geometry is perfect for splitting. I love the handle guard!
Thank you for support
What a beautifull replica. Awsome work. Very Nice video also. Thanks.

Bravo za vrhunski rad
Giveaway perhaps
Plzzz
@@m.j.k5928 I'm sorry, but I'm not making anything to order yet.
@Owl_axe When you do... Might I suggest tapping into the local Renaissance festival? The individuals that attended such an event do look for real and useful steel, too... But more than the attendees, the participants in particular, would be interested in your fantastic skills. If you were able to perform your smithing in a guild yard, you'd draw quite the crowd.
@@deemushroomguy Thanks for the offer, but so far I've decided to focus only on youtube
@@Owl_axe it was more of a suggestion than an offer... But whatever ✌️ Have a great day, dude! Good luck with your TH-cam channel!
Ooooo what an axe the billnas
Something similar to number 1 and number 3 from the catalog
Beautiful work demonstrating real finesse when using the press. Really appreciate the handle guard, although I imagined the axe was going to be bigger (not a criticism, just my thoughts), but it looks like it works very well. Thanks for sharing this.
thank you, it’s very nice to read such comments
thats some awesome content brother!
thank you, it’s very nice to read such comments
How much does it cost
Not for sale yet
Nice!
Thank you 👍
Nicely done. You just making one? Or going to make more to sell? If so, how much and where to buy?
Thank you, I'm doing it for myself, I'm not doing sales yet
@@Owl_axe you mentioned “yet”..when or if you decide to, I think this one will do well.
What sort of camera setup do you use? The lighting is absolutely stellar. Also you should definitely film the process of making a handle if you're going to do another tool, because the handle looks nice. Also do you do custom commission work? This is the kind of skill and craftsmanship that I'm looking for, and is one of the nicest I've ever seen.
The settings are different, depending on the moment of shooting, everything is solved by a softbox and another lamp. While I'm only shooting the forging, another master makes the pen so that the videos come out more often and faster. Thank you for your support and kind words
@@Owl_axe I'm also curious if you do custom work for a price.
@@crimsonfox87fluxule62 No I’m not working on it yet
great work
Thank you
Don’t colour the head it will only get worn away and scratched up have it shiny BUT good handle well done
If you paint it with special wear-resistant paint, then everything will be fine, but nothing will ever be new, just like an ax without paint
Hello friend, how do you like my work? I will be glad if you subscribe and appreciate my work 🤤
Very nice. Thank you
Thanks for watching friend! Write how you like the video
Good looking, bro!👍
Thank you
How do you like my videos? Let's continue?
🎉
👍
Really cool and much better than I certainly can do but I have to ask what defines a axe as a Swedish axe or yxa
Thanks, Swedish Ax is more about classic head shapes like the one in this video
@@Owl_axe aaah thanks for the explanation
Enjoy your videos. More please
Great tutorial without a bunch of blabbing. Good stuff
Thank you
Very nice. Thank you
Nice action on power hammer
