I want a BMW E39 525i or 530i in the future for a more practical daily driver. Either that or a MB E320 from the early 2000s.

@@bensgarage4017 thanks I currently drive a MB SL550, love it, but I need a back seat for a big boy dog and to take my parents around once in a while. Always wanted a E39 5 series since I was in middle school decades ago when they were new.

@@bensgarage4017 thanks, wasn't sure I was going to make it in the run up to shedfest, had to replace discs & pads all round, but had seized bolts & rear caliper, thankfully got it all sorted in time 🤞🏻

Auto Alex channels are so poor now, where are the sheds exactly?? ...... wait ... I will wait for Car Vertical or Febi to show me. Jesus wept get a life, there were cars there from £250 to £250k some might think a 250k car is shed. There was a mutual appreciation for anything that moved. Much needed in the current car scene and very much enjoyed by myself others that I spoke to.

Hi Ben I just bought same motor down here in Oz...2003 E49 530i with factory Msport pack black on black. Like you its needed heaps to get it half decent. I got it cheapish as it had been badly vandalised on the exterior ...every single panel had been keyed. So 90% of my work has been on the paint. Pity as its black with ;ovely black leather interior so it really showed. Anyway good luck with the channel .

You have a great car! ( Im totally biased. I got my E39 530i in 2005, with the same color as you) Problem is you cant ever sell it. after 280.000 Km no serious issues. Just take proper care of it as you do. If you suffer bad xenon (DIS) reflectors you can change them to modern ones without changing the OEM styling. Over the age the D2S reflectors turns pale.

Great looking car. My 1999 M sport auto 520i is also in immaculate condition. Silver and SUEDE interior. 189000. 8 years of my ownedship. Mechanically 5 star. Interior same and everything works. 35M new and bought by myself for £1150. Unbelievable. Last of the great Beemers. Drives like the first day. So lucky. Best car in 58 years driving. See me out.
