    You need to drive your tractor up onto a trailer with the splitter hanging off the back, so that it will be taller and you won't have to bend over all day like that.

    Wow, this is really cool. Was this actually an army truck or just painted to look like one?

    • @overkilljeep
      @overkilljeep ปีที่แล้ว

      No. I renovated it and decided to give it an “army theme”… We put a dumper on the back for use on the farm. This truck used to have an “airplane starter” on the back and was used on an airport in Alaska (First Air). My cousin bought it and trailered it back to Quebec (Across Canada). It has very low miles on it… around 11 thousand miles…

      Not certain of the model... This splitter was built by a local farmer who passed away a few years back. I believe it's a high flow hydraulic pump. Il'l check if there is more info on the casing when I go back to the cottage... cheers.

      Lol! I'm going a little slower for the video. But It's actually a lot faster than most of the other splitters I've seen. And strong to! With a helper feeding me the logs, I split about a face-cord per hour.

    I just just finished pulling my father's 1959 ford 801 powemaster out of retirement it had been sitting for about the last year and had been kinda put off to the side since my father no longer able to jump up and down and bend around dipping diving and dodging branches vines cleaning a wood line bush hogging at a pretty good moving speed and be able to hold him self up by his back on the back rest of the seat and one hand on the suicide nob leaned back and only five foot nine inches tall hike one leg up to keep ck the tractor stack back up if soething hung up on it and bent it back with one swift kick from a little short man in liberty overalls he could kick it with one kick and stand it right back up to the exact right spot and do all that and never touch the throttle to slow down he hauled tons of fire wood from some sketchy plases for a old two wheel drive tractor but dad never thought twice if a job needed done dad and his 801 got the damn job down he graded the land he built his house the house I was raised in pulled every stump leveled the land cut a drive way up the hill to the house and pulled every stump with that tractor he used to bushthe right away 3miles up the road and keep the neighbors ditch cut as well we skinned and dress many deer from the boom pole off the back he gave hay rides at every church event school fall festival and many birthdays he washed and drove it from the house to the local tractor show and we rode in many parades I grew up on that tractor it's bout like part of the family and pains me to know my dad will never be able to things he once could on that tractor due to his recent battle with A.L.S. but he's a tough man and I knew if I got it back running and gave it wash he find away to get up in that seat and paraded it down the driveway and up the road for quick spin and I was right today my dad smiled for the first time in a while and enjoyed him self once again just chugging along on the tractor he bought the day before I was born a hot august Sunday dad stopped to look at it on the way home from church my mother pregnant with me standing in the waiting on my dad ask he test drove the ford 801thru and around the old man's field in his Sunday best a black 3 piece suit and tie dad looked it over and had to have it and paid the man cash on the spot and drove he new slightly used 1959 ford 801! Hell the next day mom waited on him to finish washing and scrubbing on it until it was shined up before him and my mom headed to the hospital for my mother to have me that day I guess I'll always think of my dad any time I see one of those old powermasters and will always be the tractor of choice a personal favorite a tractor that always came thru and get the damn job done on time every time and today after I rebuilt the starter and carb put some points and a condenser in and it fires off and runs like a top once again and dad was able to get a kick out of it and even enjoy a stroll in faithful just st like he used to. That old tractor means a lot to me and I'll always have a soft spot for any ford 801 of any shape or condition I'll always take the time to admire one!

    Loved it. I think you captured the solos as NY generally does. And you sang it that way. NY gets something then plays with it. Sometimes works, sometimes not so much. Honestly, you're playing at a level that I will be aspiring to over the next while. Keep rockin'!!

    I was under the impression the PTO only worked on an 8n in gear?

    • @overkilljeep
      @overkilljeep 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. The PTO will turn when engaged with the transmission in neutral. But if you press the clutch in, everything will stop.

    • @calholli
      @calholli ปีที่แล้ว

      My 2N is the same way. You are correct that it will only work with the clutch engaged. (which is a bummer in many situations).
