EAW-From Jellyfish to Sharks: Ocean Swimmers Provide the Blueprints for Next-Gen Underwater Vehicles
Dr. Brad Gemmell, Associate Professor, Department of Integrative Biology, University of South Florida
Aquatic animals have always been able to move through water with much higher efficiencies than human-made vehicles. This presentation delves into the fascinating world of natural swimmers such as jellyfish, bony fishes, and sharks to explore the secrets behind their efficient locomotion.
Using state-of-the-art techniques, the Gemmell lab has collected data on the unique biomechanics and fluid mechanics of these aquatic animals. The talk also emphasizes how this knowledge is being applied to innovate underwater vehicle designs, creating more efficient, agile, and adaptable systems. By bridging biology and engineering, the study of natural swimmers offers a pathway toward next-generation aquatic technology and expands the potential applications, from environmental monitoring to underwater exploration.

I am very happy to witness the good work of Dr. Ugoma. I have suffered from the Herpes virus since 2007 and I have frequent symptoms in my private area. I have used acyclovir, but it only comes and goes worse. It was very disheartening, since I was diagnosed, but after meeting Dr. Ugoma and evaluating him, I was convinced that it would definitely cure me, so I contacted him and he told me how to get the medicine from him. He said I'll wear it for a week and take a look. At first I said how can this be possible? After purchasing it, I used it the way it was prescribed and tried again. My result was negative. That is why I made an effort to share this good testimony on the Internet so that the sick can benefit and be cured. Email: drugomahome@gmail.com or WhatsApp +33 7 51 85 62 30

I find this talk a little disingenuous as at first she states that the rising seas will not occur during our lifetime and then proceeds to let everyone know that it is going to impact them during their life. Well, it IS going to impact people now as it is NOW impacting people and the trajectory for impacts was not captured in this presentation. If you want people to become aware and start talking about this then stop lying to them and let them know the real danger. I'm not giving this a thumbs down b/c at least you're out there trying. Just not sure why you are sugar-coating the message.
