I play with mouse and keyboard. I don't think you can play it with a controller on PC - but there are console versions of the game.

I knew of this game's existence back when it came out - but it was Mechwarrior 3 that I played properly first. This video is my first playthrough of the game ever and I did it just earlier this week 😄

The game blows me away even now. It has an amazing soundtrack, as you say, but it also has explosion physics, amazing atmosphere, the graphics are 'charming' by today's standards - with some games even trying to replicate that low texture, cel shaded style. The gameplay is good and the mech simulation is good. It has true 3d graphics. It's one of these milestone games.

I'm using Windows 10. I bought this version of Rainbow Six on GOG.com. I don't think I'm doing anything special - but I can't remember. The only slight problem I encountered is some enemies / hostages not appearing on the map. This meant I had to edit the victory conditions on some config files.

I have the original Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear up already. Doing Ghost Recon is a good idea - I love that game too.

On the PC version the default key is "Tab". The game has a concept of pressing a key to use the right hand and a key to use the left hand. "Space" is primary fire or use power glove; "Tab" is fire with left hand or block. (Firing with left hand is only applicable in some historical missions where you can have a storm bolter in one hand and a grenade launcher in the other.)

I don't think this game has difficulty settings. This video is the PC version - which I found to be the hardest. No cheats are on. If memory serves, the console versions had a slider for genestealer density.

I've seen the "Go Codes" handled in 2 ways. Some people equate the "Alpha Go Code" to Blue Team, the "Bravo Go Code" to Red Team, the "Charlie" to Green, etc; and they know from writing their own plan the section that team will clear when given the code. I don't use this method. I use the "Go Codes" to indicate order: For example, all teams move on Alpha first, Bravo second, etc. So, when all teams are waiting, I give the next "Go Code" in the sequence. You can tell when teams are waiting from the status in the bottom-right of the screen. This use of "Go Codes" is also how the default plans are set up.

Thanks for the reply man - so im guessing you do your own plans then? if im using the default plans and im leading my own squad, and im in a certain position in the level, how do i know its a good time to call them in so everyone is in sync so everyone is covering each other? i find myself going too deep into the level and i dont have the support from other squards, and vice versa, i might call them in too early and i dont give them support, and they get takin out easily. I do create my own plans. The defaults are okay for instant action, though. If you're using the default plans, the trigger for the "Go Code" is when every team (including your own) is waiting. It's best to look over the plan so you understand why teams are waiting at certain points. For example, let's say Red and Blue are waiting for Alpha but Green is waiting for Bravo. Give the Alpha Code, but not the Bravo. Only when all teams are waiting for Bravo (or a later Code) do you then give the Bravo Code. It's worth mentioning as well that on modern Windows the game has a bug where sometimes not all terrorists (or hostages) spawn. This means that sometimes the mission can't be completed because the victory conditions can't be met. This happens to me in this video during the airport mission. You have to edit the config file for the victory conditions by lowering the number of terrorists or hostages accordingly.

The tank is 60 litres - but I think bigger would be better. Probably double that. These guys would thrive in an outdoor pond. They've grown quite big. Whenever you see them in the wild, they tend to be tiny - like in the first video.

@@wojciechkubiak6020 They are the same size now as in the video - they are fully grown adults. I set up the tank first by adding the sand, rocks, elodea (the plants in the background), sponge filter and a heater connected to a temperature controller (for when it gets really cold in the Winter). I keep tropical fish, so I transferred some of the mature water from those tanks into the new tank. I collected the fish from the river in a big 15 litre bucket and I gradually added the water from the tank into the bucket to acclimatise them to it. I used a net to add the minnows to the tank then topped-up the water.

Ah - I didn't know that. My flamer is spent by mission 15 and he becomes dead weight until mission 17, where he seems to get resupplied.

@@nicholasgordon4999 Yes, the developers should have put this information somewhere. Similar situation happens in the mission 11 Reinforce, where you can find at least two heavy flamer reloads when you break up particular red doors by shooting them. I never knew that when I played the game but I saw it in the Space Hulk VotBA video by user CaldabolgGaming (Space Hulk Vengeance of the Blood Angels Part 26 Barren & Reinforce). You can find my comment there about that as well.

Do you mean the tabletop game? That's booming now. It's in the hands of Catalyst Game Labs and they produce spectacular miniatures.

I never learned how to play though lol, I just got tones of the old ones with the supplies to play too.

@@lampbagel6552 I recommend Death From Above Wargaming channel here on TH-cam. They do a good breakdown of the rules. There's even a new, slightly simplified, version of Battletech called Alpha Strike. It streamlines some things to allow for bigger scale battles.

It only lasts a few minutes as an intro. There's no music after that.

It's 12 Celsius. I sometimes let the temperature go down to lower than that in the Winter.

Yeah, narrow wedge rasboras are Trigonostigma hengeli - just another name for glowlight rasboras.

I used a long-handled net - the kind you get at little shops selling souvenirs. If you hold the net in the path of the school, they basically swim into it.

I feed them micro granules and dried blood worms regularly. I've fed them occasionally on things like scraps of mussels and salmon. And occasionally I feed them live gammarus and daphnia. They also eat algae in the tank.
