This might be the best video I've ever seen on TH-cam!
How did you handle the humidity?
@@KeaganGoetschusagi-chan I didn’t. However it didn’t seem to affect anything. A lot of people are doing dry hatching now. I’d say the ideal humidity was definitely lacking in this case
Thank you I will try it on my 3 month pullet I’ve had her isolated for 5 days. I’ll try the bandage tomorrow. ❤ praying she’ll walk again too! 🙏🏼
I've noticed few farmers/chicken keepers have figured out the whole roost thing. Youve about got it. I have old 6 inch timbers as roost. at about 5 feet high. with a broad ramp to one side for those not wanting to jump up. Most important part is all my roost bars are at the same level, so the pecking order does not apply at night and they all feel secure. Leave the lower for access but add another up top and you re golden .
@@thvirginian great points you make!
We've had 4 fir a year. Had to bring one in for three days because he was sneezing. Put him back and they were jumping him.
It's so nice they all get along so well together! They are so lucky to have you!!❤
Video of the year! I sent this to my entire family and I my husband says you are 100% right. They are needy.
Do u just have 1 rooster? And should u only have 1? Or should u have a few roosters? If u have 30 hens how many roosters should u have?
@@ryanscott6319 the rule of thumb is 1 rooster per every 8-10 hens. I currently just have 1 rooster. A single rooster can service up to 12 or so hens, but if you have more hens than that, some eggs may go unfertilized. After all, he can only do so much. However too many roosters and not enough hens leads to fighting and stress in the flock.
Bucky 🐓 ❤️ says rescue me on the important one Daddy
Wow... Impressive. Good Dad
Got my girls and 1 gent, with 2 heat plates and 1 heated bowl plastic over coup and run except the needed vented area. Just the things we do for our critters 😉 my girls are still laying eggs, just ain't got a heart to tell them that they can take a break 😊

Would a treat shake with a shovel path been just as good? We will never know. My husband never misses an opportunity to use a flame thrower either! Hugs.
@@barbarayorkwoodside3716 I secretly enjoyed the flamethrower. Probably too much….
ohhh my gosh you had me laughing the whole time esp at beginning when you had feed in hand and still they just looking at you, i currently rebuilding my small flock just two for time being, but after umpteen years raising chickens, these first to be really fine with walking thro tons snow today to get to me and treats, wish i had pic , even so i shovel em paths this deep its, gonna get super cold this week, i too have heat lamp, back up plans but still gonna be rough week, anyway thanks for ur videos you are so funny & destressed me having some one can relate too with chickens ya love and cold winter aint easy
@@MelanieBare-cl1tc thank you ☺️. Good luck!
You're simply the best! Dey loves you!
You’re a GREAT farmer for sure and for certain. I was worried about the bunnies with this cold spell coming. I don’t think I’ve missed any videos but you seem to have lost many many chickens! What happened?
@@jennifershephard4708 I had several die over summer, sold a few. It makes keeping the coop clean so much easier
@ I’m sorry you lost some of your girls. Want you to know my recovery from surgery was easier because I watched all of your videos. They kept me very entertained and I learned so much. Thank you

Thank you very much for your instruction video on installing t-post and bracing the corner posts with wedge lock brackets! Your video is superior to others because you spoke clearly and slowly unhurried with close ups of the brackets and how to install them. Very helpful 👍
@@HappyHeartLuvs thanks! Glad it helped!
Maybe apartment dwellers can raise quail. Eggs are getting crazy expensive! I have only two girls laying through the winter. The rest of my hens are old ladies and only lay in spring/ summer.
I got 1 eggs today!
Im glad you made this video. I'm a city dweller, but i wondered about this for some reason. 😆

Re: 4:40 - Release the drain hose from the connector. Push the tab to the left, push on it, pull down…the connector does not release the drain hose, it’s stuck. Any suggestions???
After many attempts, I discovered that after you push the released to the left, if you hold the connector at the top/near the release tab and pull down, the hose releases easily. Hopes this helps for anyone who is struggling with this issue.

My chickens were spending all day under their mobile coops when we got snow this week. I moved them to the barn to keep them out of the high wind and snow. I don’t have power to the barn so they’re getting even less light than usual for this time of year. The older hens stopped laying. The younger birds are still laying, but they get a little more light. Hopefully the snow melts soon and I can get them back on the grass. 🫣
