Did you ever figure anything out? Our 2016 Fit just started doing this.
HI Gavin, yes I found out what the issue. The "Smart Power Control Unit Module Assembly" aka keyless entry module is failing. This unit is located behind the cluster and I was able to pull a code through a friend who used the Honda system (same as dealer).

@@bodellg No problem! I actually found out that the Honda Odysseys are having the same issue.
Any chance you know where I can buy the parts to fix it ? My do the same thing and alarm keep going off randomly if I leave my battery plug in

Sound good. How about the power and maximum speed? Need to remapping of ECM?
No change in power or maximum speed. Most of the restriction comes from the catalytic converter.
