Parents, are you over leveraging sports and entertainment? Don't build resentment 😎
After a phone call from a parent seeking information about our kickboxing program, I created this video to address some common concerns and questions. The parent was very interested in prices and hours for our kickboxing program, and when I mentioned we offer a full week at no charge to try both kickboxing and Jiu-Jitsu, he started to hesitate. He mentioned needing to discuss his son's grades first, which made me think about the balance we need between academics and extracurricular activities.
In this video, I emphasize the importance of not overleveraging activities like martial arts as rewards or punishments for academic performance. It's crucial to find a healthy balance where kids can enjoy and benefit from physical activities while still maintaining good grades. Martial arts can provide valuable lessons in discipline, focus, and perseverance that can complement their academic efforts.
Join us as we explore the benefits of martial arts for kids and why it's important to keep a balanced approach to their development.

I run a very modern organization. The kids are used to saying sir because we live in the south. It has nothing to do with what I require them to say. By the way anyone that says sir or ma'am is showing a huge amount of respect which I believe is extremely important in society as a whole. At age 54 I still say sir for ma'am to anyone holding the door for me or doing something which I feel deserves thanks. Thank you sir. Thank you ma'am. It is a wonderful thing. Let me reiterate, I do not require anyone to say sir in my program.

Why is a fair question. Shoes protect the feet...always have. Shoes prevent the spread of fungus like athletes foot and ringworm. Maybe the other question is why bare feet? The answer is simply that Asian Culture has many traditional schools thinking there is only one way to train and that is with bare feet. Ironically, we don't take off shoes in a fight. We would be better off wearing shoes in a street fight for obvious reasons.
