Poor car, sure seems to run well though. I live in the north and salt is a lot worse then dust so car stays inside.
Im all for patina and driving them, but at least wash the thing first, and that dash lol.
@@JasonFord-l5s I can’t keep up. I drove it again yesterday and birds must live under the shelter and they pooped all over the bonnet. It was below freezing and I had to go to work and never got the poop off yet.
Don’t ever get rid of that Mobil Agricultural Chemicals sign. That is ultra Vintage.
Of course not! i LOVE old stuff! lol
Mobile VW motor shop. Ball hitch protects underneath as well. I have a Kombi version of this. Can't wait to make it look like this. Beautiful truck.
Brought tears to my eyes, as I had one just like it, along with a '56 Beetle I'd had since Summer '59...was planning to restore BOTH of them....stored in a rural barnyard....and...GOT STOLEN! No "recourse" for either of them... BOTH LOST FOREVER! Dr. RM Kaufman/NW Oregon/USA
@@RichardKaufman-g6b that’s sad man. Sorry 😢
65 double cab, vw trucks are the best as you know.
Excellent truck
Cool SC ya got. And speaking of good Holland beer 🍺, i discovered one on draft in the Amsterdam Airport that i have missed since coming home: TEXELS. If you like Belgian beer, you'd love this one! Find it. Cheers 🍻 👏 PS- when ya gonna do a vid on your Series Landy?
@@IAm1InTheIAm will try that beer ! The Dutch military lightweight land-rover needs another motor put in. I have a motor and I will get to it someday.
Does the cradle in the bed attach somehow? Very cool rig and trailer all around.
@@m4a1m16g36 just lays in the bed. The wood slats on the bottom keep it from moving side to side and the dolly lets it move forwards and back.
@VintageWanderer Interesting. My instinct would be to bolt the frame down with the dolly still able to slide, but I'm on the opposite side of the load securing spectrum, then most folks I see hauling shit. I suppose if the load was heavy enough it'd never be an issue.
@ I thought before I got it you had to bolt it to the bed. But it’s cool that you can take it off and use the bed like normal. It works as designed. Cheers
My brother has a VW Transporter he'll get around to rebuilding one of these days. I just sent him this video to show him he's missing a part. That trailer equipment is neat and solves the short bed problem.
@@StapleCactus it’s even better as the single cab bed is big! Longer and 8ft and near 5ft wide I think . Either way a 4ft x8ft sheet of plywood fits easily. Cheers !
@@VintageWanderer I bet. He has the crew cab version. (at least that's what I think it is, been hiding in a corner of the lot so long I haven't looked in years)
Nice video 😊 I have a '58 panel and buddy has a '63 single cab. Like your Mom's remembrance 👍
Thanks 👍
You have a quite neat transportation museum at your home. Thanks for sharing. I do remember my brother-in-law once owning a VW (late ‘70’s) small pickup. It was a similar size to an original small Chevy S-10 or Ford Ranger. I don’t remember ever seeing another one in my lifetime.
@@stevencosky4035 might had a VW Rabbit truck
Awesome and outstanding
I am anxious to see this vehicle at the gym. Venture on!
@@stevencosky4035 probably tomorrow!
There’s a couple guys locally with transporters that are pretty heavy patina and slammed. They’re super cool. I dig the amber fog lights to!
LOL ! They are out there for sure!
Wow what an absolute gem! Didn't know this body style existed for these VW's but it reminds me of a 101 forward control rig! like the Willys jeep M series 101's 🔥🤯
@@MaxBrauns the Vw bus : trucks helped get Germany back on its feet after WwIi. They were cheap and did the job. Panel vans, single and double cab trucks. Some with lift buckets and such. My next video will be a rare trailer option. so14 . Not many left. Cheers.
th-cam.com/video/zGynzZgHJKA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qTCESb09hRnfMC1i check out my buddy Randy's bus and show he just filmed. Hopefully I can film better and do this. In the future I hope to get my lightweight Landover going . Cheers,.
Somebody ever tried to swap a big turbo T5 engine into a 303? Let's turn it into a 700 HP drift beast ! HAHAHAHA!! HAHAHAHA!!
@alexandermathar7780 they do motor swaps. Not sure what though
HA! All your VW projects give me anxiety. Not the Volvo one however. Nor the Jeep or LR.. I used to have a 1967 122S 2 door that I turned into a real sleeper canyon beast. Someone sold it on Bring A Trailer recently. I had nothing to do with all the stickers or seats. Looking forward to more C303 content.
@@pellcio thanks ! I have a Vw running now and will have it in a up in coming video. Cheers
Congratulations on a nice car!
Fairly easy to change clutch compared to Fiat spider, only two I've done.
If only needed clutch adjustment. 4 barrels on and had to get a 123 distributor to make it work. Hopefully another video on it in the future. How do you change the clutch in these? Pull transmission?
As the old joke goes... the 'A' in Volvo is for 'Aerodynamics' In this case we can add the 'F' and 'E" are for 'Fuel Efficiency'. I have a very similar C303 but with an aluminium shell. All the best with yours!
@@PB-jy2we truth ! I love this truck so much I drive it as much as I can afford fuel! Lol.
It isn't worn out. It is normal that it comes of. You just turn on de rubber part counterclockwise and you are good to go ;)
@@mediavormgevingsittard9731 Thanks for the clarification. First time messing with a military headlight. I am used to mostly VW’s.
I enjoyed looking at your future projects.
@@stevencosky4035 thanks !! If only I had lots of money so I could retire and just work on them! Lol. Cheers.
An aftermarket fuel innovation?
@@stevencosky4035 had a rusty tank when I got it and wanted to run the motor! Improvise!
I had a 1974 Pinzgauer 710 for a hot minute a few years back. I had big plans for it but they never materialized after digging into the cost to get everything rebuilt. The Volvo C303 is amazing as well and likely has the better power plant. Love to see content like this, keep it up.
@@texlee84 thanks! I also had a 1970’s pinzgauer back in 1999 to early 2000’s and regret getting rid of it. Then found out about the Volvo version and have wanted one for 24 years!
@@VintageWanderer I'd love another vintage 4x4 at some point but I am just too all over the place at the moment to even focus on any one particular vehicle at the moment haha.
@@texlee84 I hear you ! I am in the same boat with 16 cars to deal with! Half are old and fun. You should see more of the on the channel as I get them going again. cheers.
I only have one question …… what do you do if there is a vehicle traveling in the other direction? I am enjoying the ride with you. Found the answer - It is a one-way trail.
@@stevencosky4035 but if someone was going the wrong way one would have to back up to a wider spot.
Thank you for sharing.
@@VolvoLaplanderCamper keep looking on my channel. Cheers
At the 5 minute mark, the slick rock on Witt Rd, we 2 wheelers figure, 1 in 3 bikes go down there. It is just hit or miss. And there is a hole on the Southeast end of it which catches some of us off guard.
You are correct, most of the videos I see is 1 out of 3 bikes going down there. Cheers.
Yep. We see them down there all the time
Monte Alban Mexican Restaurant, 498 Main St Andrews, NC
Yes that was amazing and really the only restaurant open till 10 pm.
Glad to see you met Termite off road. Good to watch one of your videos. I'm also on the Vintage Rigs and Dusty Rides group. I have the red Wagoneer.
@@derelict_wanderer awesome! We will meet for sure some time. Cheers.
Always gotta be prepped for the outdoors, i remember getting 12 miles deep into a mountain road in the snow in Oregon 6-7 years ago, and on our way out to go back to town a tree had fallen into our path, me only having a 2wd VW Vanagon i somehow was able to stack piles and piles of wood( this took about 2-3 hours to find and figire out how to construct a ramp, up and over the fallen tree. I swore to myself from there on out that id always bring a chainsaw, minimum a handsaw with me from there on out on any outdoor adventures. Cheers for sharing the video. Loved watching all 4 parts of this trip.
@@LinguraDeLemn93 awesome story! I have VW’s too that I will adventure in the future.
