Spirit Crusher by Death Bass Cover
Time for my annual Death Metal Halloween Cover!
Replacing the cover I did on my old channel 15 years ago. Couldn't get a good tone out of my 5 string so I clicked an EBS Octave for the 5th string notes.
Used here:
ESP F-254 w/ Geezer EMG Pickups
Darkglass X Ultra
EBS OctaBass
Audient id44
Logic Pro X

Måneskin is one of my favourite bands I've discovered over the past few years. Not only because they're Italian, but also cause they're so badass and their bass player is incredible. Super groovy tune today. And surprisingly it was recorded through my Darkglass X Ultra. Great example of how the Darkglass stuff can be used for SO much more than just metal. Had a ton of fun with this one. I always said my three favourite bass players are Cliff Burton, Jason Newstead and Robert Trujillo. And this proves it! Lots of cool licks in this part if you really listen closely to Jason's playing. Once again I'm doing 30 days of covers for the month of January. Took a few liberties in this one. I tried it passive with a pick but I just couldn't get it to speak with the way I play, so I found fingerstyle and active just felt so much more right for me. Anyways enjoy this classic cover of one of the most iconic baselines and most iconic bass players in Classic Rock. Once again I'm doing 30 days of covers for the month of January. Day 3 of my 30 days of covers challenge. Full songs, no post processing (all sound is straight from the pedalboard) I'm making it my goal this year to get better at dialing in synth bass sounds so I thought this would be a fun song to try it out. If anyone has any tips let me know in the comments! Once again I'm doing 30 days of covers for the month of January. Everything you hear is straight o...

In the quest for SvT, Tech 21 found their own thing. The VT Bass line used to include a rackmount, a deluxe, and a 500 watt amp. Not sure why they discontinued them. All were fantastic.
Gracias bro ❤
I just got this baby from the local used music store. Thanks for the tutorial. I'm about to have some FUN!!!!! 😈😈😈😈😈😈 I'm sneaking this in church. 😈😈😈😈😈😈
Love it! Great job, and you are a great showman. I'm sure lots of bands are after you! I can play well but I just stand there - wish I had your moves! (You don't play half bad either!)
Único vídeo no you tube com as notas corretas!parabéns!
You need more than a "couple of inches" past the tuning post. Some wires have a thinner section for attachment. I'd sooner cut as he did some 4 or 5 inches.
You should have mentioned first not to take ‘em all off at once. Oops
Sir this sounds amazing
Not quite my tempo.
Great tutorial! I found it very helpful. Having received this pedal today, and even after tweaking the different pedal settings (as well as making adjustments on my amp settings), I couldn't find a sound I was 100% happy with. I watched your tutorial video and adjusted the settings like you had on the first demo section; turned off the built in SGT settings on my Ampeg Rocket RB-110, and there it was!!!!! 😀 Thank you very much!!!
I use the guitar strings to mount staghorns to trees : D
My screen has never been happier.
awesome cover work, well done to you !
Great bass cover and tone. New subscriber 284.
So why would you want it lower
Only thing I would change is how much string you have on the pegs. as much as I love overcompensating and making sure that you’re not going to undercut the string, if it’s too long, it can make it hard to tune up to the higher strings, harder to takeoff in the future without cutting the strings and if you’re not careful, can put too much tension on the pegs and break them off (happened to me but my bass is a beginner Ibanez so that’s different). Be mindful of how much you put on your bass. Also another tip for changing strings, try out a bunch of them. There are standard stings, super thin, extra thick, flat wound, hybrid, so so many. Go to your local guitar Center or music shop and try some basses. If you like the feel of the string pick it up. If it sounds nice, do it too, but sound also depends on everything else.
Bend it right before where you gonna cut though, this keeps the inside perfectly fine in position, as sometimes they can sound quite meh.
They should overlap on the peg too ✌️
Hi, excuse me, if a have an Active bass, is correct to use the +10dB 1/4"?? Or am I just messing it up?
Depends on what's coming after it. That much signal might break up an amp, but that also might be what you're after.
Thanks!
Nice job, man. Keep up the good work.
Think you’ve got enough extra string there?
That Song is by Pat Metheny though
"But it's a jojo reference" did you not get that last part stupid?💀
🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
You could also use Flats. I know it's not everyone's vibe, but that will save money + time in the long run.
I actually use flats on one of my other basses for that reason!
I bought dr highbeam strings it was my first time changing strings and of course I had some complications I tune in d standard on bass and now I’m the first fret is buzzes out and there’s buzz all over the fret board do you know what I should do lol I’m new at bass stuff
Loosen the truss rod a bit. That might fix the buzz fret issue.
remember to have about 3 windings on every string, then this "tutorial" is complete.
My dad has the same Warwick and claims its the best bass hes owned in 40 years
You forgot to explain in which direction they need to be wound
Amazing!
Who told you you can't take off all your strings at once cause it's bad for your neck and you have to change one string at a time 😢😢😢😂😂that's the biggest bull crap I ever heard and I am 97 years old... How else are you gonna clean your fretboard with lemon oil?
That’s a LOT of wrap.
Very well played and killer bass tone Daniel! Keep it up!!🎸
Great cover
3 measures of 4, 1 of 2, 2 of 4. The only reason I count it that way is they do a 4 count at the beginning of the video
Very Well played my friend! Great bass sound!!🎸
I will never for the life of my understand MIDI. I can never figure it out enough to get it to work. I have yet to view an operators manual or watch a video on here that doesn’t assume everyone is an expert and knows all the complex words and descriptions. For me, creating Excel spreadsheets is far simpler than MIDI and DAW
I always take mine off. All of them at the same time. I clean the frets up with .0000 steel wool, also screen and clean the fretboard, then oil it up a few time. Wipe it down. Then I clean the running legs and bridge and the spots between the pickups. But new string back on, stretch them a few times and tune up and play. Have done this for over 20 years, not once have I had a problem with my set up or neck.
Very well played my friend! I love your bass sound! Keep the covers coming!!🎸
Perfect!
Nice review and explanation of the pedal. I just got a Bass Fly Rig and it includes the VT in the SansAmp section. This helped me understand it better.
Close, but you need a bass IV and a healthy dose of reverb
🍻YES! ONE STRING AT A TIME! Why do guitarists take all 6 off especially with a whammy bar? NO!🍻
how can I clean the fretboard if I take off one single string at a time?
Tats like a bit too much wound on there...
i've got the V1 is with no mids should i sell it toward this
I really like having a mid knob but you can still get a lot of tones with just low high and presence.
Good man you went one at a time
As soon as I saw the warwick headstock in the preview pic i knew it would be a very chunk cover, love it
Bro I love that bass.

2 year old video... but I am watching it today. I ordered a VT pedal and should have it tomorrow. I have always had luck with the Sansamp BDDI. So I am not sure I haven't already tried this pedal. The BDDI is the only pedal I have been able to use with my Markbass rig and get a better tone than what I started with. So we will see... the added benefit it being able to go ampless.
