This channel is not DIY advice. it's just me doing things in and around the garage. Not a professional mechanic at all. Not even a good amateur mechanic lol. I'm not qualified to be giving advice on any of this stuff, but you're welcome to hang out in the garage with me while I make mistakes.

What was the problem ?? Did you got it fix
@@461caracheo the transmission fluid line had a massive leak. That was the big puddle at the end of the video.
Man, thank you so much for doing this video. My first year having an inboard boat. It was a gift from a friend to my family. It’s a 2002 stingray with a penta 3.0 like yours. I was dreading winterizing it because I didn’t know how to. You gave great instructions and I did the winterizing of it as I watched your video. Thank you!
@billytreece2 no problem and thank you for watching and commenting and I'm glad you found the video helpful. Make sure there is no water in your outdrive behind the propeller. It typically drains naturally when you lower the outdrive but it's always good to double check.
Thanks for talking me out from buying this junk! Much appreciated!
@@mitsuoo1012 you're welcome
This was very helpful Thank you.
@frederickratel4231 thank you and thanks for watching and commenting. Glad you enjoyed the video!!
Cool. I just ordered this set. I like to keep the cases open in the drawer as well. Fast access, then fold the case for travel.
@MarzNet256 I agree those cases are perfect for about anyway you wanna use them. Thanks for watching and commenting I'm glad you enjoyed the video!!
Mine doesn't even have that 😂
@@SidAker I think only 03 to 05 had it. Thanks for watching and commenting
I have a question, On the torque specs, use 71 inch lbs for the valve body and 53 inch lbs for the lead frame assembly. My torque wrench I can only get 50 or 52 inch lbs and 52 or 53 inch lbs. Which one would you recommend?
@lenupdyke4263 I'm not sure what you're asking but the quarter inch one goes from 20 inch pounds to 240 inch pounds so it would cover both of those. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Maybe Dewalt should assemble them in China instead of the USA.🤷♂️
sometimes i feel that way about it too
Good to hear you've solved your problem, but it's sad to see all the unnecessary parts and time.!
thanks and yes some of it was a waste but i think the accumulator actually did have a tiny leak and after that service it cools way better than it did before so it was a complete waste. thanks for watching and commenting and glad you liked the video!!
@hoobsgarage yes, those accumulators are known to rot in the bottom since they are enclosed in a plastic housing. Thanks again.
I don't understand you saying these cars are not fast. I'm not going to try and burn down a set of tires while leaving a traffic light. On the highway my TC has plenty of pep. I purchased my 1996 Town Car 22 years ago. I test drove it on the Interstate. It ran up to 120mph very quickly. And I had plenty of pedal left. I don't know how fast the car would run before a speed limiter would kick in. I figured that was fast enough, so I drove back to the dealer and bought it. I've been very happy ever since.
@jeffreytidwell5509 I do think they do have plenty of pep and you're right they're not for burning down a set of tires at a traffic light. You just answered your own question. Glad you're still enjoying yours, They are amazing cars. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Three pack of tape measures too (12' 16' and 25') less than $25. Love me some tapes. Oops, there you said it.
@themeat5053 yea I think it's a good deal too, was actually sitting here thinking about going and picking up a pack lol. Thanks for watching and commenting. Glad you liked the video!!
@@hoobsgarage Glad I found it. I don't do much mechanicing, because I'm a wood worker; but, I do like to watch videos about tools. See you around.
good video. im looking at these now
thanks and i dont think youll regret getting one theyre pretty reliable cars. thanks for watching and commenting
That's usually why I look at the back of the package if it says China I usually don't buy it
I got one of them tools is that a Ruger cuz that's what it looks like 357
Lol they're good tools to have aren't they and you're right right it's a 357 but it's a Smith and Wesson
Awesome video. Great help to someone like myself just coming off my first season of boating in Canada.
@KJKelly-y9v awesome I'm glad you found it helpful. Be sure to make sure you have no water in the outdrive, back in the little holes behind the prop. It typically drains naturally if it's in the down position always good to double check though. Wish I would've included it in the video but at the time I was just focusing on the block itself. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
How did I miss this video. Great post! So glad you got it fixed and thanks for sharing the problem. Solid stuff. How’s the intake manifold holding up have you had any problems on it in general. I know it’s common with the crown Vic’s.
@Mrnormalsense thanks and thanks for watching. The intake is doing good so far, it's been on there about 3 years now I think.
I thought the point of a forum was to have conversations and asking questions about cars.
@pjustice817 it is but most people flood them with questions then rude comments then never reply with their results. So I left it up to them to advertise their forum and they did. It's in the comments just look and you'll find it.
If worse comes to worse, you could see if the other compressor has good threads on its pressure switch and swap the switches.
@ronyerke9250 I don't have the first one I returned it. This one is holding up for now though. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@hoobsgarage If TSC still has it, you could give them a call to see if they would swap. They're going to have trouble selling the other as is. It may be too late already, though.
At 34 Im tired of being burned by unreliable cars, so I googled most reliable cars and these kept popping up and even though Im not a grandpa Im still seriously considering buying one.
@crzzymnn911 these things are the most reliable cars I've ever owned. Thanks for watching and commenting, glad you liked the video
Yall be sure to make sure your outdrive doesn't have any water in it. It typically drains naturally when the drive is in the down position but be sure to check. It's something I wish I would've included in this video but at the time of making this I knew mine was empty and was only focused on winterizing the engine itself.
You have a beautiful car
@pizzaman2824 thanks and thanks for watching and commenting!!
anyone know what the bolt is at 2:35 mine is rusted out i need a new one
@kobewade8139 sorry I don't. All the videos said it's was an 8mm but mine was a 10mm for reason. But I assume your talking about thread size anyways. Hopefully someone here can answer. Thanks for watching and commenting
Thank you I recently bought the 1/4 inch one at Lowe's and it was 45-55$ in idaho
@landonhyde4916 no problem glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Questions: 1. 4:39 you mentioned filling the block with antifreeze. Are you referring to filling the engine block and the manifold with antifreeze? 2. the part when you pour antifreeze 4:54 to intake/inlet tube ( where the power steering is) and drain it through the inlet fin in the out drive. I don’t have power steering in mine. Where do you propose I pour the antifreeze to run it though the water intake in the out drive? Thanks
@sonnytan8297 1. You can fill both with antifreeze. I prefer to "flush" it out with antifreeze. I guess my thinking is if there's nothing in there then there is nothing to freeze. 2. I don't know what kind of unit you're working on so I'm not sure where all your hoses go. I would assume it would come in somewhere around your waterpump area. The volvo motors have a crank driven pump on the front of the crank. Then a standard waterpump like any car motor would have. The mercury only has the car type water pump your raw water pump for it is in the outdrive. You'll have to have an inlet hose somewhere around the waterpump it's not completely necessary to put the antifreeze in at the power steering cooler it just happens to be a convenient place on my boat to pour it in. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Where did you get your replacement struts and how many inches are they?
@adenexcho369 sorry man I honestly don't remember where I got them from but I believe it was rockauto. I can measure them tomorrow and post back on here. When I ordered them I never measured them. I just selected the vehicle type and ordered them. Thanks for watching and commenting
Nice ride 👌

All the transmission fluid lines. One had a leak but all the others were rusted so I had them all changed. Thanks for watching and commenting I'm glad you're enjoying the videos!!
I titally agree. HF has life time warranty as well🎉

love your honesty man, Appreciate it

I’ve been transitioning my cheap tools to Icon, Tekton, and Capri. I really like the Icon and Tekton ratchets. The Capri and Icon wrenches are pretty good as well. I lean towards Icon because it’s fairly good budget quality, plus 5% cash back from the Harbor Freight card
@bevins38 thanks for watching. I'm glad your liking your icon tools too. Thanks for watching and commenting
Hi, great information! I'm concerned about water inside the power steering system. It wasn't drained, which could cause damage.
@jucamvil glad you enjoyed the video. Not sure why there would be water in the power steering fluid but you could always change it if you wanted to. Never hurts to be to careful I guess. Thanks again for watching and commenting.
@@hoobsgarage No. I meant, water also goes through the power steering cooler and it was not drained. I suppose some water still remains there after this procedure. Check minute 05:00
@@jucamvil it drains out the hose going to the water pump on the front
I love Icon and Tekton tools. The prices, warranty and quality are great. Plus I don’t have a snap on truck pulling up to my house. So I couldn’t give a crap about snap on.
@slim56 yes I agree with you. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I've owned two Town Cars, a 1986 and a 2002, both panther platforms. Hands down, the most durable and most pleasurable cars to drive. A Town Car is an army tank in a prom dress...virtually indestructible. And the legendary Lincoln ride is second to none. Wish I would have kept them.

@christianadams4673 thanks and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video, Thanks! I have the Stingray Volvo Penta 3.0 GXI. 6 cylinder. I'm doing my winterization for the 1st time to save a LOT of money. Is there only the 4 drain plugs? 2 on each side? I'm paranoid i'll miss one, lol. NY here, BTW.
@TimK73 usually there's one on the block and one on each manifold. Be sure to drain your lower unit of water and make sure there is no water in the gear oil or drain it.
Should I do the oil change first then the winterization. Thank you
@shawnhagerman4252 some people do. I never did I dont like brand new oil just sitting around all winter so I just do it in the spring. It's a good idea to change your outdrive oil just to make sure it didn't have any water in it. I never do that either as the same reason for the motor oil but I do drain a little out to make sure there's no water. If this is your first time I'd probably go ahead and drain it to just to make sure you have no water in it. I've done it enough I know what to look for.
I agree that Harbor Freight has stepped right into the gap that Sears left behind, and their tool line has improved greatly over the years. I have many Icon tools and have zero complaints.
@Double7-DIY-Garage yea I find myself getting more and more stuff from there these days. Thanks for watching and commenting, I'll be sure to check your channel out too
@hoobsgarage 20 years ago, I was buying most of my professional use tools from Craftsman. If I had to do it today, it would be hard to pass up Icon and Tekton to fill that need.
Amazing post! Keep LTC videos coming
@Mrnormalsense thank for watching and commenting I'm glad you liked the video. Keep an eye out got a couple more coming soon.
@@hoobsgarage definitely can’t wait! Question for yah I’m considering either a 96 or a 11’ do they have similar issues? which TC would you recommend in your opinion. Both amazing
@Mrnormalsense both are tanks but I'd definitely go with the 11. They're very similar but also very different. The 96 obviously has all the age and plenty of time for gaskets and such to start leaking and wires and sensors to deteriorate. I do have a video on common problems with the 03 and up town cars.
@@hoobsgarage makes alot of sense I’ll definitely have to go check out that video now. That’s awesome.
I bought these over the Knipex ones because these were $10 less per plier so I hope I didn't make a mistake! I am hard on tools, but I don't use these quite as much as other plier. Keep us posted!
