Awesome cards in all eras, awesome players in all eras.
missed the hobbypalooza drama but you make great points scott!
Thanks Clay.
Don’t you have a box to break? I never called Ken Griffey a pussy. Ever. I am calling you a skippy however for not listening to what I said. I said Sports Card Radio’s producer Timmy, (the kid)was a pussy for making a comment about my 30 dollar fit bit. I went on their show to promote Hobby Paloozi. What did you do? I have never, nor would I ever call Ken Griffey Jr”the kid” a pussy. Orlando and I raised more than 10% of all the money that was donated to signatures for soldiers. Plus what other watchers of our hour gave. The show was highly watched and well received as being funny, showing cards and being entertaining… AND yes, Mike Petty is an Act… a good one where truth and integrity rules. No time for stupidity. Enjoy, my handsome friend. I really feel embarrassed to have worn that same hat in High School because you’re number one argument about me saying the kid was a pussy, you didn’t even interpret or hear it correctly. I feel you owe Orlando and I an apology for that. Play it back. Also, my apologies to your parents, who I am pretty sure have heard worse.
To correct you, I did not call Ken Griffey jr a “pussy”. I called the “kid” Timmy producer on sports card radio for his comments about my Fitbit during my appearance on their show promoting the charity. What did you do? What did you give? Orlando and I gave 10% of all the money donated to the charity. I have been nothing respectful in Scott’s a chat. I never called Ken Griffey a pussy. I’m pretty sure your parents heard the word Scott. I didn’t do anything on your chat Scott and never will. Like most collectors.
I am sorry if someone else used your real name and came in my channel and said that. I truly sorry and I will publicly say this. I did not personally attack you and I straight up said I was disappointed that this attitude is acceptable.
It seemed like Orlando and Mike's livestream was them just joking around. Petty is a sweetheart and wouldn't purposely offend anyone. Value talk comes from all corners of the collecting hobby. Modern collectors want their low pop numbered cards, since they have immediate value. Vintage collectors want their cards to maintain value, since they are bigger purchases (investments or what ever the preferred terminology is). With regards to pitchers, none of today's pitchers can hang with the power and longevity of my man, Nolan Ryan... 😃. The beauty of the community, it allows us to voice our opinions, and in some cases, our concerns.
Great points. I understood the concept just poorly done. It seems if you collect dead guys that you are the smartest guy in the room. Yes Ryan is a special cat.
Scott, I apologize if you were offended. Don’t take it so seriously, we were just having fun. Petty can be very in your face sometimes. Always collect what you like, appreciate you sharing your thoughts.
Thanks Orlando. I still think you are great for the community and don't worry not so much offended as disappointed. I hope it is a character.
I like Petty. I can't speak to your experience with Petty but from what I've seen he often rails against the wanna-be investor, get-rich-quick influencers that are encouraging people to speculate on the latest Johnny Come Latelys. I think he like a lot of people champion the era they grew up watching. I collect everything. I watch some of the vintage show and tell and don't agree with everything said. But the cards they show give me ideas.
Bob I agree with everything you said. I watch others for ideas and I watch some people the collect different than me to see great stuff that I would have in my collection.
Gave a video like. There is no wrong way to collect. I’m not worried about the future value of my collection. It is entertainment for me. I have met Petty, so I can appreciate the character that he is. He makes fun of people who collect PMG cards, which I do. I don’t take it personally. Would still walk around with him at a show and chat him up. I can appreciate fellow collectors when they collect differently than me and even bust my chops a bit. I could go on, this comment is long enough. Keep up the great videos!
Thanks Hodges and that is good to hear.
Scott, I loved every second of this. I love to see someone stand up for what is right. Unfortunately the "TH-cam Card Collecting Community" is becoming increasingly more and more about vintage baseball cards. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing, but it's not as well-rounded of a community as some might think. They should have called it "The Vintage Baseball Card Hobby Palooza" this year. In years past Baseball Collector (Mike) would look for a basketball guy, hockey guy, modern collector, TTMers, and so on to make Hobby Palooza more well rounded. I personally would love to see a more diverse lineup next year. As far as calling The Kid a p*ssy, that is totally unacceptable. Ken Griffey Jr & Frank Thomas brought an entire generation into the hobby, my generation. At the end of the day we all collect pictures of men on cardboard, think about that. This is a hobby, it is meant to be fun and inclusive. The thought of someone telling me they are cooler or better because they collect pictures of dead men on cardboard versus me collecting living pictures of men on cardboard is absurd. Sorry for the rant LOL, I just had a lot I wanted to say. Keep doing what you do Scott.
I can not put it better and Thank you. Much respect.
Brother I couldn’t have said it better myself, this is exactly how I feel
I guess if you want to call it Vintage Baseball Card Hobby Palooza it should have always been called that. I invited almost every former host from the last two years and had five people who couldn't make it. I ended up adding 5 hours to the event and bringing in Because I'm Carlos to get some hockey talk, Spitballin Cards to add more modern baseball, and Cajun Cardboard to bring in some modern basketball. I thought I had you and Jake/Dom to cover the autograph world, but I suppose I will specifically find a TTM host next year. I felt like I was put in a position to not change the event that much with it being our first year. With only a month to put it together this time, I look forward to what i'll be able to do next year. As for the content of the Orlando/Mike Petty episode, we did not have the full story on what the subject matter was going to be, only a vague understanding thinking it was going to be more of old man type lamenting of the kids "ruining things." I don't agree with what ended up happening during that hour and will do better vetting before next year.
Putting these things together are not easy and actually having it run smoothly isn't easy. Even when there are complaints everyone in the community is glad it was done.
@DKsMidLifeCardCrisis I totally agree. John did a bang up job this year, especially doing 90% of it by himself. Are you headed to Cleveland in a couple weeks?
Good job on the response. See you at the National and the first beer is on me.
Scott, I'm very sorry if you or anyone else was offended my Mike and Orlando's show. Those of us at 4 Collectors have nothing but the utmost respect for everyone's collecting style. Heck, Cesar pretty much has every style as he collects anything and everything in true hoarder fashion. I viewed their show with its entire format with the drinking as complete over the top farce. Even Orlando got into the act of playing a character that was completely different from his true feelings. In the future, I will not be open to anything, even meant in jest, that is disparaging of others. The last thing I want is to offend other members of our collecting community.
Thanks, from what little we have w talked and have hung with pepin man I never thought it was coming from you guys. I was just a little disappointed that no one from the "vintage circle has addressed this. And I hate labeling different collectors. We are all collectors. Thanks again.
Comedy is not as easy to pull off as it appears. I watched about 15 minutes of the referenced show. I didn't take it personally but rather a failed attempt at comedy. I'm sure some of the things said was how they felt, but I'm not going to try and read their minds.
Whenever someone uses the words "smart" or "stupid" to talk about cards, with the implication being value/worth it's automatically anti-collector in my opinion. If you want to speculate on cards, by all means. Play it super safe and dabble with the dead. I guess my problem is the presentation when the overriding implication during the entire thing is purely about the money. Collectors should not be driven solely by what their cards are worth. But I guess I'm freakin stupid for thinking old school like that.
Thanks Ed. 3 weeks brother.
If that kind of talk is part of hobby palooza i know many collectors that will not even turn it on next year 👏💃
I will be ok not being part of it.
Ur father is far from being an old coot💃👏👏👏👏 Love ur monday show also
Thanks
I give you soooo much credit for actually standing up and calling petty out ( doing it very well) I guess other collectors are afraid of him. They just laugh at it all. I turn off the channels that allow him on. This is after i have heard him talk. I don’t respect that kind of talk. But he is what i call an old coot who doesn’t want to learn. Their are many older people then him that i don’t consider to be an old coot. Thanks for speaking out. My respect for this has really moved my needle 💃👏👏👏💃💃💃
Thanks
I know i am stupid for collecting Dolphins, i dont need to be told that lmao

The Batman set looks AWESOME all together! Love it. Congrats man.
Thank you sir.
Fun set reveal & DC fun facts and trivia!
Thanks MikeO
Great cards Scott
Thanks Orlando
Great looking set. i have the set but ungraded and not as nice. The blue bat and red bat sets also show comic art like this one. The Riddler back series has 38 cards and shows pictures fro the 1966 Batman movie. A real nice set. The Bat Laffs back set has pictures from the tv series. There are 55 cards in set. This is my favorite of the 6 sets. Finally, there is another set with comic type cards numbered to 44. This is also a blue bat set, but has a big blue bat on the back of the cards.
Gave a video like. I love the oversized cards as well.
Thanks as always
Nice pickups for the collection Scott! Well done my pancake eating brother!
