@NotQuiteVR ok I saw it, i had to search the name, cus when u linked it went no where, im sure who ever it is prolly works for the company and they have rights to it. Either that or they have a better software to render it in 3d. Just like how venta x was able to do it.

My tutorial is limited to creating the SBS 3D file for upload to the headset for viewing. There are two methods to upload to TH-cam. One is for "SBS VR" and the other is for "SBS 3D". The VR version is more complicated and I can't rally explain it here. However the "3D" version is easier. To upload to TH-cam, you will need to attach a set of instructions called "metadata" which informs TH-cam that the file is a 3D file and not a normal video file. To do that here is a link to a instructional video that you should watch first "th-cam.com/video/MmDrnwPIWKg/w-d-xo.html". I use "ffmpeg" to write metadata into my (mp4) video files. This method is explained in the video. First you need to install "ffmpeg" if you don't already have it. Then call up the command line, from the directory that your 3d video is in. Then insert this command line "%f" -aspect 16:9 -vcodec libx264 -x264opts frame-packing=3 "%~nf_MetadataInjected.mp4" then press "enter". You should see a second file next to your original file called ".... Metadatainjected". make sure your video file extension is MP4 or the command will not work. Now you can upload the new file to TH-cam and watch it with your headset. The upload usually takes 15-30 min. However the conversion to 3D process could take one or two hours before you can watch the video. I must warn you that TH-cam might block your video if the content of the video is copyright protected! Everything I explained is just for creating a 3D video file which you can watch with your VR headset. However this is not the VR verions that I normally upload. That process is

@NotQuiteVR lol that's a good one 🤣. Speaking of that, dont know if I remember talking to you about it or not about the Venta X app on the quest. Every week they put 3 new 3d kpop performances in it, and it's free to watch. Not sure you heard of it or not. They do take old performances and I think they make it 3d 180 video, but prolly with a different program or something. Just thought u might be interested in checking it out since you like to do these 3d videos. Ofcourse I'm excited to watch what you make too. Keep up the good work, just sucks that not everyone can watch these the way they intended to cus not everyone have a vr headset.

Yes. I often check out Venta X content and I think I know what you are referring to. I noticed there were old VR180 videos, at much lower quality now showing on their channel. Those are not conversions to VR180. The videos were shot years ago with a "dual camera" system similar to what they do now. I think they just purchased the rights to those videos and up-scaled them with AI. To be honest I'm not that impressed with what Venta X is doing. Sure the quality is much improved however the formula is still the same and resolution is still not enough. In my opinion they need to get rid of all the noisy backgrounds which is frankly way too distracting and concentrate the highest resolution to the middle where the eye is mainly focused on. All the peripheral content should be eliminated or be out of focus on purpose and that will save precious resolution for the center of the screen kind of similar to what I'm doing. Also their videos seem too sharp specially the edges which feels unnatural. My other complaints is that there is no real production or post production cutting or editing of their videos which results in boring content. Just throw bunch of dancers in the middle and have them dance around a dead still camera. No panning or zooming! Also, the members are seemingly instructed to get way too close to the camera at times. I really don't care to see all the flaws on their faces so up-close. Perhaps eventually things will improve. Meantime I'll try to fill in the gaps with my own limited ways.

@@NotQuiteVR I do agree with what you saying about venta x. I've seen the 8k upscaled on Dreamcatcher's Deja Vu on they latest content, i feel like i'm watching Ai made video mostly. Most of they weekly add ons are just older video with older quality cams back when vr or 3d vids was only starting out. they newer contents are more crisper (its live contents" since they songs on there are more recent than they older performance videos. I also dont mind the video cam no moving to be honest, cus i've watched dance videos where the camera guy goes in and out way too many times, and sometimes i want to focus or follow on a dancer or singer and when they zooming to one person i dont get to see the one i'm actually following, so that kinda just something that bugs me when i see them zoom in and out too much. I mean i get it, its just a style of recording, but call me old fashion lol. and to be honest if they did try to make the singers more clearer, they would look like Ai created them lol. But i do like the path you taking too. its a whole different look to 3D VR, and i'm here for it.

Absolutely. It is all about preference. Also one reason the camera doesn't move is that since the 3D is so real, camera motion would induce motion sickness and would not be much fun to watch. One advantage that my approach has is that since the 3D is not so realistic, it allows for conversion of most types of videos without the negative effects of motion sickness. That means any production company could adapt this concept into their productions at relatively low cost and produce higher quality 3D/VR videos. I think that will happen when headsets become smaller and more main stream.

Mostly personal preference. I started this channel three years ago with the intention of sharing the content that I liked to watch. However I try to accommodate requests as much as I can. There are many reasons that I may not be able to fulfill every request and the main one is that I only convert South Korean K-pop girl groups and like to stick to popular groups. Also don't want to deal with low quality content however if it can be upgraded to HD I will do it. There are also restrictions placed on me by TH-cam as well. Not every video can be modified due to copyright laws. I also reserve the right to reject a request if I find the video distasteful based on my own taste and preference. I don't make any money from this channel and the only request I have from viewers is to give "like" to the video in order to help TH-cam promote my conversions which in turn attracts more viewers. This song is so magical. And I can't explain why! Good to hear from you. I remember writing to you about my conversion process. There is a software (Owl3D) that does a real good job of converting to 3D and it also has a VR conversion capability. I have tried the 3D conversion and the results were very good however have not tried the VR. You might be interested in trying it.
