Why is zenless so diverse while Star Rail is just different shades of humans?

I know star rail won't add non-human playable characters but I also wish they would, they're not having as much fun with the fantasy side of sci-fy as they could be. They should take inspiration from King's Raid, they had a playable blue ogre shaman chief, a reckless goblin and a humanized lizard wizard!

Oh, one big place and one small place per version is already what they are going for. Small places will just mostly be Xianzhou locations related to Luofu and other fleet ships.

If you look at those characters you praised ZZZ for, those are all from 1.0 character roster and so far the limiteds are just waifus with some hisbandos on horizon.

Many non-humancharacters ive seen are silly, contrived and immersion braking. If they have some good ideas then i wouldnt mind them adding some. But if not id rather them not force a bunch of silly species like this video is suggesting.

You have to keep in mind even though I agree with most thing but CN has alot more regulations for character designs that are PLAYABLE

inhuman-like playable character? Probably as likely as a playable lady wearing pants.

problem is they are not sellable they need be cool handsome cute or beautiful would not want pull for certain humanoid but that rare case

Problem with zzz is most recent characters are still human characters and no sign of them adding non human. I doubt will see hsr do anything different for awhile.

Glad to see stall team still has a place in the game. Kinda tired that all of the permanent content really punishes stall team in hsr. I understand that this is less about the characters but more about planning your gameplay around the scepters and the team that can enables the scepters. Regardless it is such a nice choice from the devs for not making the same gameplay over and over again for SU

Ive had this complaint for so long, im glad someone with a platform finally talks about it. I beg in the feedback forms to make unique characters every time lol. I initially thought that Firefly was going to be our first just cool mecha character, but they turned out to be another girl first and foremost.. (I like her character now dont get me wrong but I was like, "so close..")

having duke inferno killed offscreen was so annoying to me tbh, i rlly wanted to play as him or atleast talk to him in the story, but nah bro got like 20 text boxes max and 2 cutscenes-

Well, it's honkai, they need to create those sweet sweet waifu regularly, even if they already have a lot of waifus

For a supposed "fantasy" game, Star Rail is sure lacking in traditional fantasy representation Kafka's trailer confirmed the existence of an entire planet that's inhabited by furries. Robots like Screwllum exist. Borisins? There's an entire universe out there, but it seems like the most "diverse" non-human character Hoyoverse can make is a human with horns and a tail or something similar

glad someone else brought up the issue of a space traveling game and there are barely any "alien" designs or characters with significant differences. even the Vidyadhara seem to be clamping down on the unique or different designs, Lingsha having no horns or tail and only having painted red hands and feet

You know what, you really do make a point. If they can make a sci-fi outer space themed world, then what's stopping them from making more unique non-humanoid characters or having a more diverse range of human-like species.

In terms of aliens, they have absolutely garbage alien designs A halovian looks barely any different from an avgin, and even to a foxian and a vidyadhara, which is… just disappointing I am a Chinese ben 10 fan so even if my standards are high these are still terrible alien designs at the bare minimum.

They have teased a number of different species we have seen little of if at all. Theres the faction of good borisin introduced during the wardance, the planet Kafka incited a rebellion on thats filled with multiple kinds of animal people, some followers of abundance are undead, there were demons and oni on Acherons home planet, and energy lifeforms/heliobi. Hopefully as more villains get introduced and more planets visited we get more non-humans as playable as theres no shortage of them in the lore.

I think if Hoyoverse takes this advice, their profits will be wiped out. Western game devs are experimenting with making ugly/repulsive characters and varied lifeforms and are losing profits. They are also experimenting with not having sad/tragic back stories and it isn't working. As humans we love to see beautiful people in tragic stories. It's the basis of every major myth or religion going back to the beginning of time for every human population. There's no need to mess with that formula. A monster here and there and some silly comic relief or light story character now and then is fine to breaknup monotony, but what will sell is: 1. beautiful waifu, 2. smoldering heroic husbando, 3. tragic backstory filled with difficulty and failures.

Is a China game for chinese people, they only want human girls. Zzz is probably design for a more occidental audience

How about Monster suit, basically bulky Gauntlets and bulky armored boots. The Gauntlets have spikes on the knuckles while it has the tonfa pole launcher thingy on the forearm, the boots just have rockets for movement and prob kicks. This could use any martial art I guess, the pole is barbed meaning it could latch to anything.
