A beautiful walk, thank you. We've recently found your channel and love your vlogs, which are very interesting and relaxing. Love the longer vlogs 🙂 Best wishes from the UK 🙂
Oregon weather is so changeable in the winter, etc. The Oregon coast is really impressive. I loved going to visit when I lived in OR.
Where is all the apocalypse the magas talk about? Hilarious that they believe all the photoshopped garbage on their news.
I moved from Portland 2 years ago and I'm extremely home sick and your videos have really helped me THANK YOU!!! and Happy New year
I'm glad to hear my videos remind you of home! I'll be making more this new year! Thank you so much for watching and Happy New Years!
Haystack is a type of rock formation. There are a few on the coast. Pacific City has Chief Kiawanda (a haystack), Neskowin has Proposal Rock (another haystack), and there's one in Bandon too. Cannon beach just calls theirs haystack lol. They were very literal. But then they did name their town after an actual cannon that washed ashore. When the tide is low in not winter, you walk around hug point to get to the other beach and waterfall. There used to be a road. You can still tell where it was. You'd hug the point, hence the name, Hug Point. (Literal again)
Wow thank you for the info! I did not know all that! Lol I guess those where haystack rocks after all! I appreciate you watching and for the information! I truly appreciate it! Happy New Years!
Keep up the good work fam. When I went through life struggles your channel helped me out more than you know. Thanks.
Wow thanks man! Hearing that motivated me to keep making these videos! I appreciate your kind words! May 2025 be a great year for you and your family!
Thank you, I also never seen such bridge liftIng. Times flies last year. My first life in OR have started and subscribed your channel in 2024.😂
I’m glad to hear you’ve started your first year in Oregon! Welcome! Thank you so much for subscribing! I appreciate your support!
Tillamook is a must visit if you’re on the coast! I was surprised that the crowds are still big in the winter. Guess the only way to avoid them is to go at opening! We’ve had their lunch menu (grilled cheese, soup, spicy Mac) and it was excellent. Glad you got to stop there!
Yeah we were surprised too to see the crowds in winter but I guess people can’t resist the ice cream till summer lol we haven’t tried their lunch menu but it sounds good! Maybe next time we’ll try it! Thank you for watching!
BTW, that's the Hawthorne Bridge (named after Hawthorne St) being lifted at the end of your video.
Thank you for letting me know! Didn’t know that but was really cool seeing it life! I appreciate you watching!
Hawthorne Street in turn was named after Dr. James C. Hawthorne who is notable for founding Oregon's first asylum.
The coast is so nice this time of year and $80 is sure a bargain! We always stay in the summer and the rates are triple. I’ve never visited Manzanita it’s a cute little town! Have you been to Shore Acres Park? It might be too far for a day trip but they do a beautiful Christmas light display and have nice gardens to see.
I haven’t heard of shore acres but I’ll look into it! We love exploring the Oregon Coast and will continue to do so this year so we’ll probably explore some new spots so I’ll keep this one in mind! Thank you for watching!
I enjoy your walkthroughs of downtown in the fall/winter months as we only visit in summer so it’s a whole different feeling. I love the Christmas tree and the lights they put up! The streets are definitely looking cleaner in the colder months. We used public transport and it was really easy to use, safe and fast! Have you done that 100 Santa search they do in Portland? That seems fun.
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I haven't done the Santa search yet but it sounds fun. Maybe next year I’ll do it! Thank you for all your support!
Thank you for sharing your view of Portland! Happy New Year to you and your family!🎉🎉
Thank you so much! I enjoy making videos of Portland and more to come this year! Happy New Year to you and your family too! 🎉
Your videos are so inspirational. Thank you!

No, thank you for sharing. God Bless you and yours this New Year🎉
God bless you too! Happy New Year!
Wow...I would be in cheese heaven. When I come to Oregon I will put Tillamook on my bucket list.
It's a must-see! You'll definitely want to try all the cheese.
Happy New Year Dude, to you and yours! Love watching your vlogs!! Especially on the coast. Can't wait to see your 2025 coastal videos! Keep on keeping on Hector!
Happy New Year to you too! I appreciate your support and love for the coast, I will for sure be making more coastal videos this year!
ps: On the way back when you get to Banks exit, go right to Forest Grove. In the Safeway plaza is "BJ'S COFFEE." Opened in 1992. They roast all their own beans. Import them too. Best coffee of all me thinks. Also of interest: Buxton Train Trestle. (North of Banks on the way to Vernonia.) Astounding - huge! Bike and walking path on top.
i haven’t been there in ah long while bro
Nice weekend. Portland is awesome!
hahahaha checking in or checking out brother haha 🤣 so funny ha God Bless you brother in everything you do keep exploring God’s creations it’s amazing be careful out there wow Tayota my dream cr RAV 4 hehehe 😂
Beautiful !
Beautiful !
80 bucks for a motel at the coast is quite a bargain. This time of year the rates really come down and become quite affordable.
Yeah we were kind of surprised since New Year's is coming up but I guess everything gets cheaper after Christmas. It was a bargain for sure. Thanks for watching Allan and Happy New Years!
Have you seen whales🐳 near the coast?!😂
No I actually haven't but on one of the viewpoints that we stopped at, there were people with binoculars searching for some whales! So maybe we should invest in some particulars and search for some next time we're at the coast! Thank you for watching!
been a fan for a while just never comment lmaoo , always watching
Lol no worries! I appreciate you commenting now and for watching! Means a lot! Happy New Year's!
is there any cool stuff in salem ?
We haven't really explored Salem to be honest. We gotta go down there sometime soon. We've only done Enchanted Forest, The Riverfront Park, and The State Fair every year but will definitely go down there in the future and explore more!
@@hectorslifeadventures yeah i seen those videos love them , but true true
It’s be cool to show the different neighborhoods of Portland like NW 23rd, and all the quirky ones on the east side.
I'm definitely interested in checking out some different neighborhoods in Portland! If you have any recommendations, feel free to let me know! We did 23rd Ave last year which was really cool. Thanks a lot for watching! I appreciate it!
From what I remember, Pearl, Alberta, Hawthorn, Mississippi, Laurelhurst, Mt tabor area…I also enjoy the St John’s area. not sure how they are now though….
I walked all over downtown Portland in the '80s, but I haven't been back for a few years.
Wow! I wonder how it looked back in the 80's! I'm sure very different! Thank you so much for watching! I appreciate it!
Hi Hector, that was so cool watching the bridge lift ! Perfect timing ! :)
Hello! Yes I got excited because it was my first time ever seeing a bridge lift! Haha thank you so much for watching!
nice walk brother good content good walk nice grey sky God Bless you always brother keep safe you Comprende
Thank you so much brother! God bless! 🙏🏼
Thats where i did my breaking in the 80s. I think i need to9 move back there very fond memerories of a place where people were peaceful and it was city vibe but calming. Trippy place kinda like Seattle and SF vibe but more compact and slow
That's awesome! Thank you so much for watching!
@@hectorslifeadventures Hey i think someof the kids used to put something funny on the pointing mans finger lol thats been there for 100 years hahaha i saw Purple Rain in a theatre couple blocks from the man im old lol i need to move to downtown portland and leave LA behind lol peace brother youre awesome!
Your videos are always great. Thank you ever so much! *😀*
Thank you so much for the feedback! Means a lot! I'm glad your enjoying the videos! I appreciate you watching!
@@hectorslifeadventures Thanks. I lived there for 32 years. I miss it terribly.
We had our high school bachelorette at The Grotto! Do they even have those anymore?! Another banger video! Thank you Hector!
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching!
I like the consistency, keep it up 👍. How much has downtown Portland changed since your last visit, does it feel safer/cleaner?
Thank you so much for watching! Yeah I've been filming quite a bit lately! This time around, it didn't seem too bad. It seemed pretty clean and didn't really see any shady people around so I think it might be getting a little better! Appreciate you watching!
🤣🤣🤣😂😂 come on man
Hello Hector, thank you for another fine video. Happy New Year. God Bless. I can't wait to see more of your adventure this New Year.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! Happy New Year and God Bless you! Excited to go on more adventures in 2025! Appreciate your support!
I love ur content so much! I used to go to Portland just to walk around like this but I can't anymore with my health. So this was cool to watch. Thank you!
Thank you so much! Im so glad to hear these videos are something you enjoy to watch! I'm so sorry about your health! I'll continue to make more videos like these in the New Year! Thank you so much for watching and Happy New Year!
Yeah nobody likes getting shot
Yes, I love walking ! Portland is so beautiful. I love your vlogs ! Just Sub. :)
Thanks so much for subscribing! I'm glad you enjoy the vlogs!
Hey! You're in my part of town! Love what you're doing! Way to represent the PNW! 💚
Thank you so much! It's a beautiful part of town! I appreciate you watching!
That park is so nice and the neighborhood around it is lovely. Definitely a million dollar neighborhood. The streets seemed wider too. How funny that someone put that effort into putting all those stickers into a Port a Potty! I wouldn’t spend one second longer than necessary in one of those lol!
It is definitely a nice neighborhood to walk around in and would be nice to live in but so expensive! And haha yeah I agree on the porta potty! Thank you so much for watching! I always appreciate you tuning in! Hope you have a Happy New Year!
That was great. I always wanted to go there when I lived in Portland, but my friends at the time weren't that interested at the time; they thought it would be too Catholic, etc. I wish I had insisted. It looks quite nice. Thanks for taking us along.
Yes you can definitely tell it's Catholic but it's so beautiful with all the lights, Christmas tree, and that big rock that you'll end up admiring it and appreciating all the Christmas lights even if you're not religious/Catholic. I'm glad you enjoyed the video Michael! It was fun making it. Always appreciate you! Hope you have a Happy New Year!
@@hectorslifeadventures Thanks. Happy New Year to you and your family, too.
I look forward for your videos!
I really appreciate it! Glad you enjoy the videos!
It's a beautiful part of Portland up there. It costs a pretty penny to live there. I really like your exploring various areas of Portland.
Thank you for watching! I'll continue to explore different areas of Portland in the New Year for sure! I'm enjoying exploring different areas of Portland and even outside of Portland. Appreciate you!
Omg! That tree!!😮
I looked up the selling price of that house for sale... it's 1.6 million. Don't feel bad, I would have also guessed 700 thousand.
Woah! That's way more than I would have thought haha but I'm not surprised! Houses in the nice neighborhoods are starting to be around the 1 million price tag! Thanks so much for watching Allan!
Very nice walk brother God Bless you always keep safe takes care loves the foggy weather bro it’s epic
Inside one of buildings they had a small theather with a indepth video about the history and how it was made. I havent been to the top gardens since the remolde. Thank you for making his video.
Thank you so much for the info! Yeah we haven't been to the top garden in years eoghter so we'll definitely be back some time soon and check it out! Thank you so much for watching! I appreciate it!
@hectorslifeadventures I look forward to that video. Being disabled it's not friendliest place to visit. When I saw the upper part last it was vandalized and they didn't know. Being very young and coming back to them crying trying to explain what I saw has haunted me. I can't travel to places so I love every video you share. If you visit later after the spring leaves bloom I'm sure it will be beautiful.
