From the Geek! EP, recorded in 1985 before Bilinda Butcher joined MBV. The lead singer's name is Dave Conway.
Me driving home and playing OPN in a 1993 Honda Civic
I've got a boy But I can't stand it I wanna leave him But I don't know how I've got a boy But I can't stand it I wanna leave him But I don't know how Every time I try to leave Every time I go to sleep There he is in my dreams Every time I try to leave Every time I go to sleep There he is in my dreams
Awesome!:) If you're a fan of Best Coast, check out Ted Duchamp - Coke Float! :)
I can see why MBV were influenced by The Birthday Party.
um, what
Vocals are impossible to take seriously, but nice tune otherwise. :-)
"lopatin vs fennesz" version .. awesome !
Jefre Cantu-Ledesma
LOL so Lopatin, love this cut
dá hora.... show de banda ...
best version.....actually possibly one of the most beautiful noise tracks ive ever heard
I think you should make noise music
perhaps compressed 7 dBs over the album version?
always been my fav
I like it but the album version is better
Kevin and Lee Hazlewood! Bring it on bastards!
wrong speed. supposed to be faster
This song is already in my favourite discoveries of the year for 2015. Like this band a lot, simple music, although the early stuff seems a lot more complex. terrific
i can hear tiny tim singing this
This droning guitar reminds me a little of the song Drown Soda, by Hole, even though I don't relate Bethany at all with Courtney Love...
I LOVE BOTH BANDS SO MUCH
..i love the darkness of DAVE CONWAY here!.. bored me Belinda butcher.... first are better like syd barrett- pink floyd..rockanroll!..
best song of the year!
Joyvtl Jvbuayf!
I prefer this version....reminds me of the movie 'Children of Men'. I don't know how, or why...but that's what o think of.
So their are two different versions of this song?
thanks for explaining! Was a bit confused. The album version is my favourite song on the LP.... so crazy good.
This was released on the Oneohtrix Point Never website as a preview track (I imagine), encoded in 90s-style Real Audio format and titled "Joyvtl Jvbuayf," which is a Caesar cipher of "Chrome Country". Most computers don't play RA files anymore, so this was re-coded to MP3 and uploaded as-is.
'Chrome Country'. You could just do it yourself, pal.
what does it say?

Oh! I like it.
Count backward seven letters from each letter in the song title and see what you get.
Lux Interior, or Nick Cave (during his Birthday Party days).
I've looked for this song all night
hahaha, the most spot-on comment yet.
Tennessee Ernie Ford rocks way harder than I remember...
the vocal sounds like glen danzig meets billy bragg. haha
More Lux Interior from The Cramps than either.
@hundhun17 I was thinking Ian Curtis more than Morissey, but I guess it works.
Somebody's been listening to Nick Cave!
this song hurts me so good.
Like a DEMON in PARADISE....I ever loved this band.
So glad Kevin Shields and Belinda Butcher started to sing
This song puts me in a such a great melacholy feeling
@Govonovixcks thanks a lot!
@Mechapoch He became a successful horror writer.
morissey fronting the jesus and mary chain.
@RippingFadedSmiles I think he became a writer. Does anybody knows the lyrics for this song? I couldn`t find them anywhere and I dont have the best english.
what happened with Dave after the valentine?
thank you!!!
I quite liked the "Dave " era and Paint a Rainbow remains an all time fav
love this
