    Aloha from Kona, Hawaii Chris, I recently posted a video of the Yongala on my youtube channel that I made from when I dove there last month and thought you might want to check it out. I titled it "SS Yongala 10/18/2023". It looks like the conditions were a bit better when you were there on this video, but I was still able to capture some pretty good stuff! My name is Ron Siebert and I dig your videos, so maybe subscribe to my channel as well and share these underwater experiences !!!

    Hey Chris, quick question. Im trying to understand the cost of this skydiving Lifestyle. For the AFF course I was looking at around $ 2,310 with Sydney Skydivers. Once I complete the course how much do you reckon I'll need to actively jump say 1-2 jumps per month? Gear hire? buying my own gear? I just want to understand if its a sustainable hobby for me. Thank you and Im really happy for you embrassing your fear :)

    • @chrisgustoff
      @chrisgustoff ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Joan. That is pretty good to do the AFF course and sydney would be a great location! I think just get 50 jumps in and then start to look for your own parachute. The jump is over $50 then an extra $50 - $60 for gear hire. There are sky diving rego fees added.

    • @TheNightKiing
      @TheNightKiing ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrisgustoff so after the course Im looking at around $110 ( jump cost + gear hire x 2 jumps per Month = $220 per month cost 🤔 ) How much is a parachute + gear clothing etc? Thanks! Oh and fees? Thanks!

    • @chrisgustoff
      @chrisgustoff ปีที่แล้ว

      @joan23us For second hand.... at least near $5000 range or more. For new parachutes definitely over $10000. Hope it helps! :)

    Well done you are truly brave, cause bravery isn’t feeling no fear, it’s about staying strong in the presence of fear which you did. I’m currently on my level 7 so I can relate in a few ways, especially the plane ride up, I bloody hate that part. But in the end it truly is worth it. Honestly even though I don’t know you I am proud of what you have done :)

    Every summer gets the most dangerous lightning storms and please be careful hiking around Uluru Kata Tjuta and lightning can strikes the trees and stay don’t go swimming when the lightning strikes. It gets hot in the summer and drink lots of water. It get beautiful sunsets at the viewing site of Ayers Rock in Australia. I loved to hike in the Australia’s Northern Territory in the Red Centre. I loved to watch the lightning storms in Uluru-Kata Tjuta in the area of Yulara by the Ayers Rock Resort and was spectacular to see the common types of forked, chain zig zag lightning and another seeing the anvil crawlers of lightning in the sky in the summer in December to February and early spring in November when the thunderstorm season starts in Australia in sometimes in October.

    Its sad they insist on a tandem(a strap on arch) since you really learn nothing. Before AFF 5 static line followed by a series of delay free falls(5 sec,10 sec etc) was the go. Just to point out too that even the static line jumps means out the door you are on your own,btw there was no radio to tell you how to control your (round) "sports canopy",those were the days.
