LEONLIII - The Wonder and Hardship of Love in a Hopeless Place

The brief was to make an original score under 90 seconds to accompany this artwork.
I imagined that this told the story of two star-crossed lovers in a time where all human meetings are prescheduled and authorised or denied by the system, and when the person on the bike gets conscripted for war, this is the last chance they get to meet, and possibly the last they'll ever see each other.
I then created some musical sketches, settling on the second idea, experimenting a lot with sound design. To finish it I found a female vocal sample that gave it Dune-esque vibes.
I then broke out the elements of the original static artwork image to make a dynamic animation.

Wow man, I heard your version on Metapop first, and got curious from the youtube picture. But realy nice that you recorded it live! Great performance. But, if I must compare them, the version on Metapop sounds better. Keep it up!
ah, I really appreciate your comment, that's great to hear you enjoyed it. I agree with you, the metapop master is much cleaner. Hopefully I'll do some more when I have found the key to sustained optimism. Currently grey-souled.
@@LEONLIII I'd hope to see some more too, but all in good time. Sometimes the darker days can turn into some beautiful music, but then again, it can also just leave you numb and eat up your whole drive to make music in the first place. We've all been there. In those cases I turn to listening music instead, or watching cool inspiring TH-cam movies, like this one here ;) I hope you find the optimism again soon, you surely spread it. Thanks!
