Too bad they went with a lighter, satirical tone with Drakengard 3. Don't get me wrong, I liked Drakengard 3 a lot but I had hoped (and still hope) for a sequel that could match whatever Drakengard 1 did

I like to call this chapter's whole ost "Leaking numbness". What do you think ? You know, I have this habit of making descriptive chapters in my fics with the title of songs I love in order to make my readers imagine they're reading a script of sorts for an anime intro. This OST and the "On the Ground" follow up would be my anime intro for "Kingdom Hearts 1". "In the Sky" would be used for the images involving the Destiny trio's daily life in the game's beginning. And "On the Ground" would be used for all other scenes in the saga/game/fic. Their friendship at the beginning seems very hollow to me, hence the numbing tune. Only when their fights start, is when I truly think they actually start meaning something to each other, in spite of the destruction.

This is one of my alarm clocks. I try to make some of "Drakengard" songs as part of my daily life in order to keep myself connected to the saga. Do you do something similar ?

I think this is what actually plays in veterans' minds in hostage situations. That's essentially the difference between "Drakengard" and other fantasy games. The broken veteran trope without the hopeful new generation, or when evil doesn't mess around for plot convenience.
