March Madness Recap: Tar Heels' Triumph to Sweet 16"
HD just isn’t the right guy for the job. He’s too antiquated in his thinking, makes bad in game decisions, doesn’t hold players accountable, constructs bad rosters, and has 0 consistency. The team looks unprepared most of the time and the buck stops with HD.
I love how hansbrough keeps it a buck and is able to talk about UNC rationally. Hearing Theo pinson talk about UNC sounds too emotional without much rationale.
If you’re head coach, what would be goal for the remainder of this season?
Simple, play hard, play together, and win
tyler hansbough is totally correct....the other guy ...good god...cut your runons that say nothing to a minumum please.
Make sure to like and subscribe to see if I take your advice!
Tyler needs to give Davis and team a pep talk
It’s David job to motivate I don’t care how much talent you have. Guys need to start moving and not standing around
9 games. It would be 7 - 2. That is embarassing in itself he cant even add.
Must be those two Carolina degrees
Tyler use your covid year now please !
By the way Renault our Stanford big 7'1" real center 40% 3s got 24/14/4 in kicking our butts in Dean Dome and Daniel Wolf who reached out to us last year...BOTH won getting 16 points 14 rebounds 4 assists 2 blocks YESTERDAY...with any FORE THOUGHT 2 years ago we have TWO top mobile 7 footers lob threats pick and roll specialists out there right now...F- on UNC COACHES bigs signing last 5 years...we got zero 5 production...embarrassing recruiting with zero coming. 100% on UNC SYSTEM as both top winning bigs tried to come to UNC...PATHETIC coaching blunder. Somebody's head should roll to wake system up! We been spoiled too long!
Losing why...we giving away 14 inches standing reach and 30 pounds per player...softest effeminate center UNC ever started...teams just bully ball us outta the gym...smallest softest UNC team in history! 100% on UNC choices of recruits. Period. Sign two bigs this portal or resign in shame total incompetence to recruit college size athletes to play major college basketball! Pathetic
They never should pay the players they don't care anymore it's all about the money.
Davis seemingly put all his chips on Washington taking a big jump and Tyson becoming another Manek. Neither happened. I think if those two things worked out, then we would be having a much different conversation. At the end of the day, this team is just not that good. My concern is that it doesn't seem that Davis is able to motivate/coach them to get the best out of them. The inconsistency makes no sense.
I can't believe that the staff thought Tyson could play in the ACC
haha
Love my Heels, but to quote the teens, this team is cooked:(
Davis shouldn't never been hired has no displine for this team seems they do what they wanna do no noticed not many top players dont wanna come here hire outside the program this family hire dosnt make a difference
Tyler is surprisingly good at this stuff. Excellent work.
Put THans on the coaching staff!
Not unless the players want to do what there told don’t blame Hubert
I really think Tyler would do a better job than Davis. Tyler understands we need some bad ass big men. Davis never should have gotten the job after only being an assistant for a couple years.
One thing I been saying about this team since HD's first year as coach. There is no accountability for bad play, he lets them keep messing up and messing up some more. Lets them play with no effort. Never takes anyone out that's a starter. Now the bench guys, they even look like they're going to make a mistake. They're pulled instantly, starters have too much freedom and bench not enough freedom. I was so happy when Raymond Felton said that on their pod, to reenforce what I been saying for years.
Well what Felton said is something like if someone isn't playing good, coach needs to sit their ass down
Man that's my number one problem with HD since he took over he just allows his starters to play without a care and continue to make the same decisions and mistakes with absolutely no consequences man then he scapegoats alot remember I thought that bad year was all Caleb loves fault now he needs a gm because he has too much on his plate not one time In four years have he ever said I have to coach better or I have to do a better job at having the guys ready to play man he has zero accountability
@@KingFlexo916 HD just can't coach. Period. The End.
But having a big definitely changes a lot … a real dominate big that can score can take a team a LONG ways compared to not having one. Defensively and offensively changes the game , especially starting game go ahead throw in down low to get going and when plays break down be able to have that to go to and when you really need a basket
T hans pls join the staff 🙏and get some dawg back into this program we need it ,teach them what it takes ..the toughness and physicality it takes to be the best
Love that hat, Sleep
I hate the fair weather fans so much… keep up the podcasts tho! Love it
Tyler… where’d you get that hat bro?
This team is getting worse as the season goes on. There's no teamwork, it's just one of the guys getting the ball and trying to get his. Almost all bad shots. Dribble, dribble, dribble bad shot. There's no accountability with the players. They play bad and never get sat, HD actually doubles down and lets them completely lose it. Been that way since he's been coach. It sucks watching this team, we don't play defense and our offense is hero ball
We are 13-9.!!!...... Most unc teams dont have 9 losses all year! This is bad. Unc should not be a just get to the tournament team in all honesty
After this season no matter what happens i feel they will give Hubert 1 more year bc caleb Wilson if he deserves it or not but i just wanna get back to winning games like we should!! Taylor Swift is a turd!!!!!
UnC All time based upon NBA career: 1. Kenny Smith 2. MJ 3. Billy Cunningham 4. Worthy 5. McAdoo UNC alltime based upon College Career: 1. Ford 2. Jordan 3. Worthy 4. Jamison 5. Hansbrough UNC All time based upon talent: 1. Lawson 2. Jordan 3. Carter 4. McAdoo 5. Daughtery
Great to have Wayne. The moderator might be talking too much. Thanks for the episode.
On of my best friends is celebrating 7 years of sobriety on February 12th.. he’s is literally the biggest Psyco T fans there is! I’m trying to find an autograph jersey and have no luck!! I’m not looking for hand outs I’m willing to pay 🤞🤞🤞🤞
Other than a couple of games, RJ Davis has not played well. His shooting is terrible. His lack of height and size has been exposed this season by playing against bigger and athletic guards. He is not going to play in the NBA and needs to yield to Ian Jackson more offensively. Caddeau, God love his soul, simply cannot shoot the basketball and now seemingly passes up simple short floaters and midrange shots. Elliott cannot continue to just keep driving and hoping for a foul call.
I will say this to you as a Patriots fan from New England. I watched Tom Brady go to Tampa and suddenly all eyes were on them and their culture also changed. It took a few months but Tom Brady left them with a better culture and he doubled their fan base and with that more money came into their program. With Bill going to UNC, I have already heard Patriot fans looking at what is happening and UNC is the only program getting mentioned in the media.
Cadeau is hurting us more than his potential to help us. Gotta consider letting him go!
The problem is Elliot has the point guard skills that we need to hit our ceiling. But he also has the ability to lose games for us by not being focused.
TH & AJ are all time fav Tar Heels
Bill really has been crushing everything since he left New England. Hoping he will crush this, too. It has been nice to see him smiling and laughing.
Someone was paying enough attention to know that Bill really missed coaching and they understood his history and made an offer that spoke to Bill’s soul.
We got that big win now T Hans, finally!!!! We now gotta go handle Campbell by 15 + then go 15-4 or least 14-5 in ACC and if show we should dance as a 6 or 7 seed
BIG HAWK I'M GOING TO BE HONEST RJ IS NOT TRYING TO WIN GAMES HE'S TRYING TO WIN THE SCORING TITLE
He looks distracted....
Dude ACC sucks!!!😂😂😂
ACC should be embarrassed 14-2😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Unfortunately, Mack was NOT being honest in the presser. He claimed multiple things were true that were not. He backtracked many comments and declarations that he had made only a week prior. He also reneged on an agreement with Bubba and the athletic department that he would step down at the end of the season. Mack Brown is the ONLY person to blame for the ugliness of this situation. I have no sympathy for him, and y'all are wrong about splash hires. Jon Sumrall is an incredible coach and I hope we will hire him.
Did anyone see KENDRE Harrison commit on 247 he’s from NC but I thought he was disrespectful to the other schools but I thought especially to Carolina throwing caps off the table then put UNC cap on people started clapping then took it off laughing and and then threw it across the room and slapped on Oregon thoughts
Zero respect. He'll realize living in Oregon is rough and family and Reidsville HS are 3,000 miles away.
Hey how you guys doing hope y’all had a great thanksgiving/ wanted to know Tyler will you be on any more radio broadcasts with jones angel? Never got to see u play live but watched every game in college and got the league pass when you went to the pacers listening to Chris Denali and Quinn Buckner call games go heels beat bama😂just answered my question I’ll be listening Tuesday and sleep I’ve done the same thing for years trying to link tv sound with radio been doing since Billy packer if he was calling game on tv I was listening to the late great woody Durham RIP
Our team has a problem with hustling and been an ongoing problem since HD became the coach. Not saying he's a bad coach. I think he's an amazing coach, just has a problem having these guys putting out max effort. Either we need an assistant that gets these guys going or recruit players that gets everyone going. We also need to start holding people accountable for bad play. That's been a constant for too long. We have the talent to be the best team in the nation. We showed it against Auburn, which looks like the best team in the nation.
They were terrible in 2017 and 2018 when Mack came back, then six straight bowl games. They were terrible when he arrived in the late 80s, too. This is your best coach ever, and the nicest man in college football. He deserved to be treated better (by Texas, too).
Love Mack Brown but it was time.
Drake Powell giving me Julian Wright vibes....
My dude Tyler!
Heels beat Dayton, lose to Iowa State/Auburn, then win the third game...Maui is TOUGH this year
Field is stacked. Will be a great test for the Tar Heels.
definitely not beating auburn or iowa state if we play like we did against hawaii
They was already on hawaii my guy
