I got the 3/8 at home depot and a 2.5HO battery. I also purchased a milwaukee 3/8 impact socket set 44 piece. Dont use chrome sockets on impacts because you will damage the retainer ring. The milwaukee sockets are very nice and i swear the 3/8 has more power than the 1/2 model.

I have both the 3/8 and 1/2 versions and for some reason the 3/8 with an proper 3/8 impact socket seems to have more grunt than the 1/2. Identical brand new 2.5 HO battery fully charged. Adding a adapter to the 3/8 or any impact definitely kills the power. I love the size and feel in my hand. Doing a big rig lug is out of its league.

Have you ever broken any one piece impact socket? Does it happen often? I don’t really have impacting tools. But I got some of the sockets! Japanese mostly.

Snap-On is quality, no doubt. But man, my entire set of deep well 3/8” Icon cost the same amount as my 5/8 SO spark plug socket. That’s a hard pill to swallow. The value just isn’t there. Especially when they are 80% of the quality for 20% of the price. Love my Icon and US General.

I’m a diesel mechanic and do this every day. I also have pretty much every newer Milwaukee impact from stubbies to the high torques. This m12 will not take off a lug nut of that size that’s been properly torqued to 500ft/lbs, especially with any type of corrosion present

The toolboxes usually have a few holes in the bottom. Does the side cabinet not have those? If it did, you wouldn't need to drill a hole and void the warranty.

Milwaukee updated the adapters and fixed the issue of sockets coming off, they are providing free replacements for existing users, I got all 3 adapters replaced free and kept the old ones, they work geat this is an awesome Insider Ratchet! thanks for sharing the video

It’s good in a pinch but it seems perfectly designed to completely destroy every M12 battery thrown at it. I sold my Gen 1 M12 stubby a few months ago because 90% of my work I reach for an M18 by default. I’ll wait for long term reviews in a few months before buying something new which might kill off half my M12 battery collection. Other TH-camrs are warning of significant voltage drops and excessive heat on this one, but it’s good to know what it can tackle out in the real world.
