The spray you used after polish

Thanks for watching. The spray is water or denatured alcohol that raises the grain in the wood. If you do that and then sand it again, the finish will be smoother when the goblets are used.

I have to learn a lot about turning with skew. It is very important how you cut out the blank for the spatula; I have messed up a few times.

With skew it is very difficult. I was just using skew today and had quite a few problems. We are learning all our lives

Thank you for watching our video. We also made one from maple wood, and we have been using it for a year. It's like new and has no strange taste.

I have made several similar mugs from black walnut, and I finished them with a mix of hot paraffin and mineral oil. I used a heat gun to help the mixture really soak into the wood. Several years later, the mugs still look like I just made them, and there is no taste at all from the wood no matter what kind of liquid gets put into them. (And there has been plenty of “adult” liquid consumed from these mugs!)

Thank you very much. A scraper is a very useful tool for turning both inside and outside. Be careful not to use a scraper at a 90-degree angle to the wood. It cuts really well if you have fresh burl.

We in Slovenia call it Ruj. This is really nice wood. It rarely ever grows into a tree.

Vielen Dank, dass Sie sich unser Video angesehen haben. Ja, dänisches Öl wird hauptsächlich zur Beschichtung unserer Holzprodukte verwendet. Was das Halten des Spatels in den Backen der Drehmaschine angeht, schiebe ich ihn nicht weiter in die Backen hinein, damit ich den Spatel bis zum Ende formen kann.
