Samoan song and dance has the potential to be innovative without being too contemporary thus retaining its entertainment value in typical animated Samoan fashion... this was a joy to behold.

These guys from "Hibiscus". That's so awesome. I thought some of these dancers look so familiar. And I I couldn't figure it out until it hit me. God bless you guys.

I would love some information on the history for this song! I am Samoan Maori, and grew up in the rural far north of Aotearoa. My mother is full Samoan and currently suffers from dementia :( currently she is repeating this song day in and day out :) I love it, and would appreciate any guidance on where to find this info. I have searched corners of the internet with no luck :( nga mihi !

Wesley Paongo yeah I’ve read some of the comments on the videos of this song :) I guess I’m just hungry for more! Lol. It’s also part of an essay I’m doing for uni, so was hoping for articles of anything on it. I know we pass down our songs n knowledge orally so it’s no surprise that there’s not much on the internet about it :) would still love to reference someone or some thing :)

Wow!! two years later no one replied talofae... These songs in the first part were written especially for this event the lyrics talk about how great and Tapu of that land where the event is held Rotorua is because all the catering of different Nations & their culture are coming together to showcase and share their cultures and everyday way of living and then the second part when the men move to face each other in action the song change lyric they were explaining how to make one of Samoan traditional everyday food its call Taufolo Sami its make from breadfruit and coconut cream it's mainly the oldies favorites for late morning breakfast, its breadfruit cook on the umu or hangi while the fire is still in process of burning the rocks before the final process it's from the beginning until its ready to serve out to the Matai /Chief or the oldies and you will receive word of blessing from them after. The song performs by men only because in Samoa men own the kitchen ...lol meaning men cook not women I hope my English makes sense and help you.

Faleula E is a chant from the Mau Movement days 1880's (advocating independance from NZ) look up Mau movement to find out more. Translation: Let us go to the fale ula to hear the word of our chiefs.

Such a powerful arrangement. This performance kept me on my toes. Absolutely mind blowing. I interpret this as the "Power of Unity" within a Village or Community bringing Families & Friends Together and Working Together as One. This is the legit real Fa'a Samoa. Fa'a Malo atu i le Au Malosi. Tele Alofa ma Fa'aaloalo mo le Au Siva. Oka se Matagofie. Keep up the good work.
