Nice & neat with no fairing modifications, will only work with a double bubble screen as is or just extend the bracket to clear original screen :)

What happened to getting the spark plugs out!😂
I did this video whilst doing the job and forgot to hit record for the plugs, you can clearly see the plug caps though so all was not lost 😄👍🏻
Hi Chris! I recently followed your video to change my sparkplugs, reason I changed them was because it kept bogging spitting flames and stinking of fuel to I suspected it needed plugs, since changing the plugs for new iridium ones (100% right plugs) the bogging has got worse and threw up an F1 light. Any ideas?! I'm completely stuck
Are you running the standard exhaust cans or aftermarket ones? Mine would not run right with aftermarket cans on. I put the original ones back and it ran way better. If you have Fuel Injection it can be made to run better with a power commander but tbh the standard cans are the remedy plus they do look cool (think mini guns) 😎
@@wattysautos5442 I'm running dual Remus cans and yes mines fuel injected. It been absolutely fine for the past year though, so I'm guessing it the exhaust was the issue it would be running bad since I had the bike?
Does it happen when cold mainly? The Fi Blackbirds have an auto choke system that can get lazy in closing 🤔 this can also happen if the coolant is low as this too effects the system. The fi system will compensate by adding more fuel as it will think the bike is cold. A dead give away for this is the choke will struggle to knock off or stay raised (@ 3k ish) when warm. Just a thought bud. Hopefully you get it sorted.
Torque spec for 99 spark plugs?
Very important not to over tighten. Having said that I have never used a torque wrench to tighten them down on any of my bikes, I always hand tighten them till snug then + 1/4 of a turn only. If you are going to torque them I'd do them to 8ft pounds.
NB:- Fastener @ 2.37min is 2.8mm terminal latch female connector 👍🏻

Re the Caliper Pistons, they can come out one side at a time so be careful! If unsure only pump them out 2cm! 👀

Not on the Blackbird as mine was fuel injected. I have on my Fazer 600 though I used a 'Morgans Carb Tune' to balance them 👌🏻

No problem, these were bought second hand, J.A.C exhausts have a website and a look really top quality company. Cost wise gotta be £200 upwards I'd imagine...

Lol random question 😃 however rats will get in anywhere they can chew their way in, airboxes are only plastic and rubber 👍🏻

Thank you so much for uploading this video and help me understand how to lift the tank as I was having some troubles with this. But wondering if you could give me some advice I actually think it may be the spark plugs but I've been getting a lot of sputtering from my bike and when I come to a standstill it's turning off. I have spoken to a couple of mechanics and they both mentioned that it may be my spark plugs or maybe even the fuel injectors, what do you think mate ?
No worries, deffo look into changing sparkplugs. Also look into... blocked tank breather, loose ECU connections, old fuel, charging system voltage between 13.6-14.2 running. Hope you get it sorted have a look in to these it may help 👍🏻

Great video: just wondering: how do you stop the little rubbers from falling off the tank mounting (up in under the front of tank) when pulling out the tank? Every time I try and get the tank out from this mounting one always fall off and down in under where they are real hard to get at. Very frustrating! Thanks for the informative video though. :)
Hi cheers for your question, when I have lifted tank I use lots of 'red rubber grease' on them this makes the rubber slide off with the tank instead of been pulled off as you say 👍🏻
I have the same bike, I once let it idle for 10 minutes and the bike over heated is that normal?
The Blackbird runs hot, if the bike is fully warmed up and you let it idle for 10mins the fan should kick in this is normal. However engine will soon cool down when on the move. Many including myself have upgraded to an aftermarket radiator with bigger core. This helps a lot 👍🏻

will this work for a 2002 blackbird? thinking about changing air filter an plugs. not sure if they have ever been done since i just got the bike
where were the sparkplugs ? didnt see them on the bike.
@5:10 you can see where the plugs go buddy under the 4 rubber ht lead caps, use iridium plugs as you have to service less 👍🏻
I too just purchased a 99 blackbird. And this was very helpful. Btw if anyone is short and needs to lower the bike, you can literally lower it about one inch by undoing the triangle that holds the shock and turning triangle so that the arrow points up instead of forward.

I found the volt meter was too bright for night use so I managed to dim it right down using matt spray paint on the led screen only. This worked a treat decreasing brightness well over 50% imo.
