How to change colors on files purchased from Etsy for use in White Toner Printers
I can't believe this video doesn't have much more views, it's exactly what I've been looking for for quite a long time. In all forever or youtubers videos promoting white toner transfers they only show how to apply the transfer and how good the finished shirt looks, about the durability they only mention "up to 50 washes" but they never show or explain how the shirts look like during the process. I also liked the comparison with the other transfer technologies, on plenty of videos people talk about how screen printing is the best and lasts forever without wearing off. Also dtf is said to be much better than white toner transfers. I was starting to feel less confident about the product I'm selling to my customers because I promise them the best quality and durability, but after watching your video I regained the confidence on my white toner transfes, so thanks for that 👍🏼 also very good recommendations to extend the durability.
My pouches like this come out sealed from my laser printer 😢
such a quality video from a small youtube channel ! Really interesting and instructfull
Thank you 😊
That's great. I have a few questions. What setting in prorip do you put tgw white at to avoid cracking but have it still look great? Also is there more innovation going on with the toners and transfer sheets? I have a dtf printer but would still like to use my icolor 550 as well for shirts.
There's no "magic setting" in ProRIP for better lasting white areas. These shirts here all have been printed with the default settings for 2 step standard. White in general is a color that fades and cracks much faster throughout all technologies, simply because of the way White pigments are made. Plus you see them first wearing down on a black shirt due to contrast. Rasterization is the biggest helper you can have for softer and longer lasting shirts. If you want the paper with the highest durability in general => iColors 2 step premium makes a difference
hello, what settings do i need to use to print on 560 on prorip essentials, i used all default settings with aqua clear and it looks transparent only some colors print with white on back
Hello Chris, by any chance do you offer one on one training on this topic?? Please let me know. Thank you Vette
Thank you. This was very helpful and it answered a lot of my questions 🤗🤗🤗.
Can anyone please tell me the settings to lineup registration marks for A4 paper with the funky size it has in the software? I’m going on day three awake and I’ve had it.😢😢
There are no registration marks or special software used for this process. Just create your artwork the same size as your paper and make sure to choose the correct Avery media paper type in your software (in this case we used Microsoft publisher)
Thank you, waiting to receive mine
Fantastic job! The video is PACKED with vital information. Thank you so much for your time and your kindness to help others attempting to perfect this craft.
This was TRULY helpful! Ty! I'm ordering one next week. I need to make sure that I get what I need. Was the 650 done with the glossy toner? Idk if I need the 650 or if the 560 will work. I will be doing a lot of white font on waterslide for a dark hard surface.
650 => regular toners 560 => regular toners and glossy toners You see them all at once at the boomerang shot. If your main application is decals on dark substrates, definitely go with the 650.
🤤Fluorescent
Is it possible to make stickers using Uninet paper and Oki 8432wt printer?
You can print on the White vinyl media and the holographic media, but you cannot use the clear media as the 8432 cannot print White under the colours (just on top, like for transfers). The 8432 is quite limited in comparison to an iColor 650
@@chrishd84 Thank you Chris.👍
@@chrishd84Hey Chris, are the fluorescent toners more vibrant than the regular toners that come with the Uninet 650?
@@drizzyfest6285 They are a completely new color range, which would allow you to print colors that you couldn‘t with the regular CMYK toners. Examples are hot pink or a super bright orange. In general, you could say the fluorescent colors are brighter than the regular colors. You can also mix the colors in your printer (like fluorescent yellow + regular cyan and magenta) if you want to highlight a certain color.
Can you put your color layer down first and then foil after?
Are u using regular copy paper?
Yes! IColor printers use toner based sublimation that uses plain copy paper!
Why it can not be done with a crío/oki printer? It is not as simple as mirror the model, and when applying in the surface, just reverse and apply?
The aquaclear/waterslide material is best applied with the backside towards the substrate (it's not the same result when flipping the material over)
@@WhiteTonerTransferSupportGroup I was going to buy a oki, but then you appeared haha. I will need to find an icolor
@@SebastianRamirezH Smart choice...
Chris, ultra bright papar what temperature settings for 60/40 garment and how many seconds,? My setting is 270 with 25sec not getting clean transfer to garment 97% transfer complete
Would this work for a photo I purchased that is a digital file?
Can you still use the pro rip software?
Yes you may use your RIP if you choose to for this project.
@@WhiteTonerTransferSupportGroup Would love to see more Underprinting content with the 650!
@@drizzyfest6285 here you go! th-cam.com/video/YqCXTW23CIA/w-d-xo.html
Did you rastarize it?
These designs do not need rasterization since they already have ample negative space.
Hey where can I buy the pouches this is nice I’m abt to buy the printer
Not sure where the pouches came from, a customer sent them in for testing.
Are these sublimation mugs or regular mugs?
These are sublimation coated mugs
Thank you for the very detailed tutorial. I will tackle one thing at a time, I will try rasterizing first. I'm having trouble marrying A+B wasting a lot of the expensive paper. I'm using Ultra bright 2 step select. Do you know of an easier paper to marry? Thx
th-cam.com/video/E5zA8vkUBDo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-IjoumEuNCmQRxNc
Thanks for posting this! I just bought some foil pouches to try this, and while the print came out fine, I guess the pouch was too thin or another material that ended up heat sealed while printing. Gonna order another brand and try again.
Great video, love seeing this in depth comparison Chris. 650 is amazing!
HELP! Ive wasted so many sheets. my image is transferring to the Transfer paper B. adhesive media paper ( ICHTSTDB550) Ive tried several work around including lowering the pressure to a light pressure, heating up the bottom plate to a full 5 minute ( per the directions) and lowering the time in the heat press. I cant seem to find a solution.
Thank you so much for all the great info! I use the Uninet i560 white toner printer, and this helps confirm the best settings to use. I did not realize that using the cheaper heat press from Vevor could make or break my transfer... you made my life better with this info!
Do you have a link to the pouches?
Sorry we do not, these were printed on samples sent in from a customer
Thanks for the video! Lot of good tips! Thanks for the tip about ultrabright and tiny letters, that is good to know! Did you say for all white transfer you wait 30 seconds before peeling from the b side? Also, you mentioned that you bought the stainless steel table from Amazon but you were using magnets which was puzzling to me because I thought magnets do not hold on stainless steel.
Does the balloon float when using DTF?
Thanks for the video.i am new to the process and I found your video very helpful. Around 14 min mark you talk about getting transparencies from Amazon to test with. I am not sure what you mean by that. Who can you test using transparencies? Tia
What is the layer at the bottom? You didn’t talk about that layer
can you use this software with Icolor WTP's?
That's a design software, not a RIP software. Design software is platform independent and used to create / change designs. RIP software is created to send the designs in a proper way (with the right amount of White etc) to the printer. You'll need both, design software and rip software. I do use Affinity Designer in conjunction with iColor ProRIP for my iColor printers
@@chrishd84what’s the best format for exporting it to prorip?
what about prorip essentials i had my printer since december and not one print
None of this is applicable with ProRIP Essentials as it never loses it's configuration. Check out the new full tutorial for essentials here: th-cam.com/video/ALP810N9SW8/w-d-xo.html
Great video!
Do you still use your white toner laser? Do you still use theultra bright paper or have yoou found something you like better?
tried connecting 560 with USB, Wifi, and Ethernet, and no connection and printing will go to reserve digital image, no paper prints yet?
Thank you so much! I am new to the uninet 100 printer. Very different from the dtf I got on Amazon.
Really big help. Thanks!!
Fantastic
I tried this because my printer was doing all sorts of things. But now im not seeing the three different options for printing like i did before? How do i find those? I just see the printer as one. Can you help?
Will the grey background stay when you are using the “crop” action? I am wanting to crop images and still has the white background but need it to be that grey also
I moved my printer and now I'm getting a port unavailable error. Should I try this?
Yes! just follow our video to fix this issue.
Hi. Where I can find the one step paper?
here: www.icolorprint.com/store/Media/IColor-Light-1-Step-Transfer-Paper-A4-827-in-x-117-in-210mm-x-297mm
My yellow prints brown every single time and I have all the setting how you have them. Can you direct me how to fix this?
Most color issues are due to using the wrong file type. Make sure to use CMYK based images (not RGB)
thank you so much! Excellent job with straight forward techniques. I have only been at this for 6mos, and you have helped me so much!!! I have the Crio 8432, can I use uninet paper with the crio? I am sure I probably can. My only regret, if I knew the Crio could not print paper for invitations, stickers etc I would have changed to the Uninet. My fault, should have researched better. That said the Crio does a great job. thanks again for all your help as a newbie!!!
Glad that this video helped you! 😊 Yes, you can use all papers that are out there!
Where you get the foil rolls?
www.icolorprint.com/store/products?search=hot%20stamping%20foil
Dope but you got one if you are using transfer rip. Cause the settings are different if you got a video that covers the same I need to see it thanks
Sorry, all new content relates to the most recent RIP versions. TransferRIP is long discontinued. Consider upgrading to something more modern like IColor ProRIP
The main problem with me is that T-seal paper is not available in my country and there's no way I could imported it from US, it will be way too expensive. If there an alternative way to make T-seal paper ourselves?
