I appreciate your video. Just being yourself.
Nothing quite as unique as the feeling of being lost. It's like when you lose your phone or car keys x1000
@@rya7642 all fun till the existential dread sets in and you realize your alone with your own thoughts
What’s your favorite backpack?
Ive gotten lost twice in the woods. Only for about half an hour each time and walked out. But i fully understand. If it was very far in the woods i wouldnt move. I know using markers for a trail out and back in but thats it.
@@shaynehawkins713 definitely invest in a device like a garmin inreach! I’m also working on some stuff for a video on self rescuing yourself, when and when not to.
@Rewildoutdoor Ok. Subed too see what you do soon. Thanks.
Super cool dude

Lol none of the wilderness areas around here are gated, patrolled yes but gated no. But in the 40 years i have been hiking here never closed
@@jameshenry9112 this is in a National Park. Closed from wildfire damage
@Rewildoutdoor sad
Where is this? Any idea why it was closed?
@@kristinescream793 chimney tops, Great smoky mountains national park. Closed from a fire a few years back to give the land time to recover.
@ ahhh! We were going to go to the smokies in November but the trip was scheduled for 3 weeks after the hurricane so we decided to give it some time and go to West Virginia instead. We would’ve had to travel right thru some areas in TN that were hit and would’ve been hiking towards NC. We live in Ohio and the current available route is still almost an 11 hr drive. I’ve been praying so hard for the people down there.
I love the trail cam, like people couldn't just walk behind it 😂
Nate Wyeth: “Haven’t you ever been lost?!” Henry Frapp: “Lost? Fearsome confused for a month or two but I ain’t never been lost.”
Maybe you can make another video about how to identify your surroundings. Types of trees, water sources, etc.
@@RubinaMatev0syan that’s a great idea. I have a few different things in the works ranging from foraging, gear and survival.
As someone who has been hiking in wilderness areas at least once a week for decades and often going off-trail, I can honestly say that I've never actually been lost, BUT I have ran out of daylight three or four times. All but one of those times I just followed my GPS back to my car and once I just sat down and spent the night.... very warm night in the desert and so no big deal.
STOP -- This advice is also part of the Scouts' Wilderness Survival Merit Badge training.
Its pretty much universal across all wilderness survival training. Simple and easy to remember and can help you out in a sticky situation 😬
Just let the IRS know you are going out in the woods. They will find you if you owe taxes.

@Rewildoutdoor ah okay. Thank you for the response.
What species is this? I want to do some research.
That means the Bolete is toxic, right?
@@hyperionsolomon8718 not always, there are many edible species that stain.

And also THE method to distinguish edible boletes. The ones that colour like these when cut are not. In fact, it is such a sure method that I consider the bolete family the safest one for foraging in the wild.
Not entirely true.
Mostly true but this particular kind is an exception! These bicolor boletes or beef boullion mushrooms are DELICIOUS!!
@radderthanu that is interesting, I had to look it up. The exception you mention is native to North America. I live in the Netherlands so I was unaware of it’s existence. Thank you for clarifying 👍
Can u still eat it tho?
That’s its way of screaming from pain
@@lolone9663 if you listen closely you can hear it
Does that mushroom have psychedelic properties when ingested like psilocybin mushrooms do?
@@MoriahWilmas it does not. This is a different type of compound oxidizing.
Same thing if you press on it hard enough it will turn that grayish blue

@Rewildoutdoor aweee I bet 😍
See how it’s changing colors?? Then proceeds to never let us see how it changes colors… IDIOT
Isn’t this one edible? Something like beef bouillon mushroom? They grow in my yard like crazy I’ve always been tempted.
@@BombzofJager Lanmaoa pallidorosea has a much more red/pinkish red stipe. But something in Lanmaoa is a possibility.
Anyone know the name of the music used for this video😮?
I picked magic mushrooms before and when you pinch them they turn blue as well
Safe to eat?
Known to cause stomach upset, vomiting, the runs, and other symptoms generally related to pretty bad GI upset. Im referring to the one in the video because the staining is always a poisonous bolete. Boletes all have spongey undersides instead of gills under their cap llike other mushrooms. Mind you, if I’m not mistaken there is something like 230+ boletes in the genus(aka species - genus means family in a broad biological sense), and a number of which are edible. And even a couple of which are stated as “choice edibles” meaning one of the most decadent or tasty mushroom compared to other edible mushrooms.
Cartoon looking mashroom
Boletaceae is a neat family of mushrooms
you mutilated it for your sick twisted pleasure...
@@GeniusLevelSuperSaiyan the mushroom was asking for it 😉
if you’re not going to eat it, leave it alone. “hurr durr you can’t eat these” then leave it alone.
It’s perfectly fine to pick mushrooms. This is the final part of its life cycle. It does not harm the mycelium at all. And picking is necessary for identification.
Picking a mushroom is not like cutting down a tree. It's more like pulling an apple off a tree. The mycelium is still inside the substrate that the fruiting body was found on, and will fruit again multiple times over its lifespan.
Most mushroomy mushroom ive seen 😂
Quite mushroomy
Looks Toxic 😮
That's amazing! Mushrooms really are one of the most fascinating things in this world
That they are. As soon as spring is here and mushroom season starts I’ll be posting tons of cool ones I find.
Is irish spring soap😂
So is there psylosin in it?
No. This is different compounds oxidizing. There are many different mushrooms that stain blue but aren’t active.
God made soooo Many wonderful beautiful things😮❤🎉🎉😊
Is it edible 😋?
Not sure about this particular species. There are many in the Boletaceae family that we’re not sure if they’re edible. Some are and some cause gastrointestinal issues.
@@Rewildoutdoorthis one looks edible (as long there are NO GILLS), it could be either a Red Cracked Bolete or a Two-Colored Bolete, take this with grains of salt as i am not a professional mushroom forager
@@user-trolololololol I am 😉 I teach foraging classes. Having no gills does not mean a mushroom is edible. There are toxic species in Boletaceae. It’s not Xerocomellus or Baorangia bicolor. This is in another genus.
This species of bolete is known to be toxic. I find a-lot of them in the PNW. Still waiting for the day i find some healthy King Boletes!!!! Have found not-so-healthy specimens but for the most part alot of the boletus family isnt very edible, but mainly in the way it can just severely upset the stomach of those sensitive if I’m not mistaken.
@@fgpd7710this is not a PNW species. And many species in the Boletaceae family are edible.
How did you even find this out😂
There are many species in the Boletaceae family that stain different colors. Some blue, some brown, some bluish black.
