The outdoor lifestyle that Las Vegas offers is second to none. If getting outdoors is how you like to live, you can't go wrong with living in Las Vegas. Peter Lik is one of my favorite photographers! I was so excited when I heard he was the designer behind Jewel Homes. At the moment, though, they aren't building in your preferred size. Do you want me to send you updated info when I get it?

What do you find challenging about these roads?

Some areas are age-qualified, meaning there aren't kids. However, even in those communities, visitors who are not over 55 are allowed for up to X number of days per year.

So many of our favorite family memories involve Verrazano's! What was the favorite thing you ordered?

@@TheRealLasVegas We had a meat lovers, sausage and jalapeno, pepperoni and sausage and a cheese pizza with hot buffalo wings. Everything was very good. Seems kind of strange but I really gravitated towards the cheese pizza. I figure if a place can make a good cheese pizza they should know what they are doing. Also the ranch that came with the wings was very good. We will be back for sure. Thanks for the video.

What would make you want to sell your home?

What would you like to see in the new Urban Core?

@@TheRealLasVegas Less of the same old same old stuff. Unfortunately, the RE investors who build these shopping centers lack the imagination, the forethought on how it "works". Better quality stores for a better quality neighborhood. In the whole of Summerlin there really isn't any what I would consider "high" end retail. Downtown Summerlin is nice but far from great. In Summerlin West, I expect the same mix of shops. Really, who buy food at Smith's, Albertson's, Von's etc? How about a better "local" specialty supermarket? How about a specialty local coffee shop? Not going to happen. Am thrilled however that Whole Foods is moving from the decrepit shopping center on Charleston @ Ft. Apache next year. Guess what, a Starbucks is going into a space in the small shopping center. WOO HOO! Liquid Candy posing as coffee.

YES! The Summerlin 4th of July parade is legendary. What's your favorite spot to watch from?

Downtown Summerlin just opened a LEGO store & one of my all-time favorite coffee spots is Mothership Coffee Roasters. And there's more to come. So exciting!

I cannot join you on the Chipotle bandwagon, but my kids happen to agree with you. If you get a chance, try Amano on Ann & Tenaya. The rosemary lemonade will not disappoint.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Our family has lived in multiple areas of town, and we, too, have moved away from areas that no longer meet our family's needs. As our population grows, many changes are happening in Centennial Hills and Summerlin. What's your favorite local spot in either location?

@@TheRealLasVegas I live in Red Rock Country club, west gate. A major step up from the Lone Mountain/Centennial Hills area 2005 - 2016. I've found it odd in my nearly 20 years here that many simply move every few years. It's a pain to move and for most, they lose equity with each move. I'm always a cash buyer but we realize that most can't do that. Next move will probably be out of Las Vegas.

@@kennixox262 RRCC is one of my favorite areas in town! Close to so much, yet it feels a world away. AND...one of the last truly "guard" gated communities in town.

@@TheRealLasVegas Like I did back in 2015/16, purchased a house, gutted it down to the studs, and literally new everything, plumbing, wiring, HVAC, windows and doors, conditioned attic. Place looks pretty much the same on the exterior but the inside resembles nothing of before. Now, a lot more people are doing the same thing by getting rid of the "Cheesecake Factory" 1990's finishes that are rather dated.

Ryan, the new owner, was such a great choice to take over. His family owns a few businesses in town and are true Vegas locals. I'm so happy I was able to reintroduce you! What are you going to get?

@@TheRealLasVegas Have to go classic cheese, Portnoy has got me trying all the cheese pizza in town with his One Bite reviews. 😂

I've lived here since 1980, and this has become more prevalent since then. I'm sure having close to 3M people has increased those numbers as well.

The lifestyle is what draws people. While the summer weather might have people traveling to more temperate climates, our winters draw those who would otherwise be stuck in the snow. This is especially important for people wanting a year round outdoor lifestyle. What would you do with over 300 days of sunshine?

@@TheRealLasVegas The entertainment options. I don’t gamble or drink or smoke, but just want to watch a lot of shows. I want to find a good church, meet friends, and just travel to LA and other areas close to Las Vegas. I want to possibly retire in Las Vegas.

@@TheRealLasVegas There are so many. Nearly all of the South Shore neighborhoods have great views. The William Lyons neighborhood on the North Shore overlooking the golf course is great, the new Blue Herron homes on the North Shore are great. I lived in Tremezzo in one of the former model homes...so it had a great corner lot overlooking the golf course and lake.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Although the cost of living is higher than when I moved here, I still find California prices higher. Especially when it comes to food, housing, and gas.

There are some fabulous areas in Henderson. What area are you looking at?

The dust can get bothersome. What drew you to Las Vegas to begin with?

@@TheRealLasVegas I was in Phoenix for 3 years and there were higher paying job prospects in Vegas. The only thing I miss about Vegas is the cheap air fares, I made 82 trips to Tijuana during that period looking for sin that Sinless City didn't provide. I came from a city as liberal as San Francisco and I was shocked at the conservatism of Mormon-influenced Las Vegas. Proof: When it was ordained there'd be 40 medical marijuana dispensaries in Clark County, remember our flamboyant Mayor Goodman saying on TV: There'll be NO medical marijuana dispensaries in the city of Las Vegas. Ditto for Henderson, even more conservative, and Boulder City and NLV. I wanted to retire in a bluer city and I picked Tucson, the Blue Island of the SW, where even the public buses are free to ride. There are no true blue Democrats in NV or Las Vegas, they're all DINO's.

So true! How do you alter your routine in the summer?

@@TheRealLasVegas I worked the night shift for 20 years, and I slept during the heat of the day. Retired now, I still sleep all day during the heat of the day, and wake up around 7-8-9pm when the heat if off.

@@TheRealLasVegas The coldest nights is when there is no clouds in the sky. No clouds in the sky, Brrrrr.

Kevin, as long as you're mindful of hydrating and staying in the AC as much as possible, you and your pup will be fine. That first summer can be an adjustment. Our water district has made fantastic strides on the water conservation front. We use the smallest portion of all the states that have an allotment of water from the Colorado River. Also, if the water level ever reached dangerously low levels, the Las Vegas Valley would be the only one entitled to water. What are you most excited about when you think of living in Las Vegas?

I think the new scenery and nice nights walking, going out to some restaurants and getting familiar with the area. Although I’m sure the locals don’t pay much attention to the strip it sounds like there’s always something to do if you want to go out. Growing old in some comfort doesn’t sound bad either. Also San Diego and the beaches aren’t too far of a drive if for a weekend trip. Hoping there is good dental care there and great doctors too.
