Late to the series but if the game sells well is largely based on the sliders. Unlock tips to get the sliders narrower. Then theres factors like theme/genre/target audience/platform matching and if you market or not and what was your hype meter at release.

Loochara! It's been awhile, friend. Where would you recommend me finding more information about Eco? None of the official stuff is helpful for me to understand how it actually works. It's great if I already have an idea how it goes, for fine details, but all this government stuff is super confusing to me, and I can't seem to find any information on it. 😮‍💨

I just played the first 3h ouf my second run on normal (lost on hard in 1985), which is too easy. Maybe now after two starts I'm able to compete on hard as I now know a lot more stuff I missed before (all the small little buttons) Very nice game though Edit: Played a couple hours more and I bought Nintendo in 1981. No GameBoy competition for me I guess. I'll play this save a bit more to discover the features and so play on hard afterwards. Maybe I'll try with hard competition as it feels like it's not even there on medium. Once you got the sliders right it's gg. Maybe I'll play around a bit more with mixed genres. Still a ton of fun though.

I tried out the game today the first time (got inspired by this series) and tried hard for the first playthrough. I reached the year 1985 :D I had some games in the 70%s, but they didn't get higher, even once I figured the sliders out - maybe the problem was the lower sliders, it's hard for me to make choices on those. Later all my games sucked, but I think it's because I had no sound and graphics rooms, so competition simply made better games. Got my gameplay features and engines right though.
