Hey! Thx for the video...I have the same Sears 5 hp snowblower and it stopped running. Float was in bad shaape, so I picked up a low cost repalcement carb and followwed your video to replace it. I ended up replacing the fuel lines as they were rock hard. It started right up and runs like a champ!

Or just get a 400cca battery and call it a day. Pushes right past the release pressure

@mrsrx4584 do you do paid virtual consults ? I have the same snowblower and I need guidance with the replacing the recoil starter.

I wonder if connecting a jump pack to the battery to increase the amperage going to the starter would work if you spun the engine backward as far as possible before hitting the start key. People say blocking the air intake with your hand will work, since rotational inertia will overcome the compression, once the engine begins to rotate. That is my plan after mine fails, unless the pieces destroy the engine when it fails. I will try the jump pack boost second, since it might destroy the starter gear.

I hope you can help me. I cant get the drive shaft out of the motor. i tried to slide it forward but no luck. Do I need to remove the Jet pump first??

i've pulled seemingly bad ones and everything is intact,,,,lazy compression release spring? the cam lobes were fine. Changed it and it ran fine again...but I never really understood what was wrong with the other one...

Is there any reason you keep the original oil pump? ive seen many videos where people remove it and run premix instead, im not too sure if this is needed but many people do it anyway.

So what size were the plugs?

I always took and put a little tig weld on the pin when I worked at the lawn shop, never had one come back. did so many under warranty its crazy they are still having problems with those cams. also pretty crazy that when that puppy lets go the most damage i've seen done was a wiped out governor gear.... pretty tough motors just shit acr design ! cool video man

Yo i have a question for ya...my uncles 750sl sat for years I got it in the water last weekend and the bendix didn't kick out right away but started working throughout the weekend...I went backup 2 days ago and could not get it to start the starter was spinning But the Bendix wasn't kicking out. I was planning on replacing in the starter until I just watched this video. My question is now that you have context do you think I can clean the bendix and get away with it or is it something that I'll have to replace? If so will i have to pull the engine to replace that bendix? I was a diesel mechanic for years and I'm winging to on this 2 stroke stuff lol send help😅

Why not just do the deletion on the oil pump I'm thinking about doing that on my Any reason why I should not?
