It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing- Lowther Pavilion Jazz Club
A gem from our last Jazz Club at Lowther Pavilion with Pete Lindup, Phil Shotton Anthony Mason and Colin Turner.
Our guest was Suzanne Fonseca!!
Here with ‘It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing’! Our sign off for the evening.
As well as our usual high octane brand of Jazz it was hinted that next month might include my recently acquired Stetson Hat that was awarded to George Formby on his tour of Canada in 1948, our audience was spellbound at the prospect so it might very well feature with ukulele and appropriate song!
Make sure you come along to witness this unique occasion!!
We are the on the 13 November with our special guest soon to be announced!!
Tickets available from

Dads Army Jazz Band - When you’re smiling
มุมมอง 1295 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Dad’s Army Jazz Band spent today helping Leigh celebrate its armed forces day. Our epic task called for the big guns to be hauled out, these manifested themselves in the forms of Jonny Spall, Andrew MacKenzie and Phil Shotton, I was a rather smaller gun, or catapult in this case! Despite clouds and a slight chill we endeavoured to do this august occasion the justice it deserved and though w...

I seen them in Newport and in Blackpool and I still can't stop laughing at them
Nice video. Is this guitar made by J G Abbott and was there one called the Aristone Crown? Thanks
So sad second rate RN SODS OPERA Some people are easily pleased Pathetic Boo UJC
That looks like so much fun! Strolling musicians are not a thing in the US, really. It's too dangerous. Happy Autumn 🎃🫡
To everyone who played on the pool tables in the Crofters in the early 90s... You were a good bunch. And to those who put up with my jukebox selections in the Tudor around that time, too!
That's my car at 3:30 ish!
You chaps always seem to have so much fun playing together! Brilliant to see ^_^

Wigan keeps getting all these grants and obliterate the original landscape in order to spend them. Crazy
Cant beat a Baby Gibson !
The council figured out a way to deal with the empty shops in the galleries in the end....
Looks great, wish I'd been there! 😉

Blackadder drives forth sponsored by British American Tobacco - what a load of rubbish.
Excellent bass playing.
Lovely tribute, really really good. He'd be made up😊
I was born in Wigan 1962 Dicconson street the changes have been a mixed bag of tricks.I think I’m related to Yvonne Caldwell, my name was stuart Caldwell, I took my wife’s surname when we married so now it’s Stuart Atherton, but old friends still call me Caldwell .
Old buildings used to be a statement of wealth & style. I bet decision makes would now reflect on the sweep away the old and the fashionable. Can't wait for the 3d printed structures, or maybe just a plastic building make from waste. I came looking for Wigan casino then & now.
The immense talent of Café Society is enhanced by the superlative filming as always! 😁
Wow, thank you!
Does anybody remember going to Blue Coats school in Wigan in the 70s? I used to go there in the late 70s. It used to be were the Bus terminal now is.
love it
Edmund Blackadder, Lionel Hardcastle and Alberto Bertorelli (what a mistake to make-a) in racing circles! And the celebrated PC Cooper of Summer Wine fame.
Born in 1984, lived in Wigan all my life. Seen many changes in the relatively short time I've been alive, most of 'um for the worst. The Wigan-ness is disappearing, the Lancastrian culture is all but dead. I walk around town & hear the way these young gen z lot speak, it's completely different. They fake an accent to sound cool on their phone to folk they don't even know. The town is being destroyed & it's a bloody shame.
