omaigod i did not expect this to blow up, looking forward to making this type of content! Thank you guys so much for the support and different opinions!
Good video my guy
I think this quote is sort of related to the topic: "The issue every patient faces is: can he trust his feelings to guide his behavior or must these feelings be suppressed in favor of a rational approach? By their very nature, feelings have an irrational quality- which doesn't mean, however, that they are necessarily inappropriate or irrelevant. The irrational stems from sources in the personality that lie deeper than the roots of reason. The irrational is always opposed to the reasonable because the irrational speaks for the body, while the reasonable speaks for society." "Were the baby to suppress its crying or its desire, mother could describe it as a reasonable and good child. The psychiatrist, however, would recognize the beginning of an emotional problem. The person who rejects the irrational negates the infant within him. He has learned, unfortunately, that it's no use crying, mother never comes anyway! He makes few demands on life because he has been taught early that his demands were unreasonable. He doesn't become angry because anger had always provoked retaliation. He has become a “reasonable man,” but in the process he has lost the motivation of pleasure and the aliveness of his body." But there's also some nuance here, you may not be able to distinguish true self emotions from stuff like anxiety that is learned and will keep you down if you follow it. Good video tho, I agree with the conclusion.
I’ve been feeling this way for a while. Although Stoics would choose to make everything indifferent so you can be unhindered from the external, I always feel like giving into the randomness of life and my impulsive nature would be a better way to live so I can experience the full range of emotions
I love the sentiment of following both paths. It is crucial to trust in yourself to make the best decision based on what you know. One must promise themselves that no matter what they choose, they will choose to not regret it.
This is good man
TLDR: Don't waste your time on Stoicism. Stoicism is the ultimate slave Ideology-you're supposed to restrain yourself and do tricks to avoid suffering until you die. Stoicism is a method used by slaves to escape the chains of physical reality by withdrawing into an illusory world of imagination. Freedom in thought is only illusory freedom, not actual freedom. The stoic is detached from real life and escapes into their dreams. The freedom of thought is achieved by retreating from the external world. The stoic withdraws into his consciousness and trains himself to hold an indifferent attitude towards what is actual. As the stoic's mind becomes more impervious to the misfortunes of life, he loses the will and the ability to positively and concretely assert himself. The stoic is passive and unengaged, whose freedom is illusory.
hmm yes, i agree that Stoicsm has a lot of holes in it. But i think you misunderstand Stoicsm. - Yes the stoics did give us a lot of life tricks, but to deal with and accept suffering, not to avoid it. - Stoicsm is not a "slave ideaology" as you said and it was not made for slaves, then why Marcus Aurelius was a Roman emperor but also a profound Stoic philosopher. Yes there was Epictetus, he was indeed a slave but it doesnt mean that he was "detached" with real life as you said. - Moreover, Stoicsm does not teach you to avoid and detach with the reality. In contrast, it teaches you to FACE the reality, to navigate your own emotion, to understand oneself, to appreciate suffering, and to live life by the nature or the reality. - "Voluntarily Suffering" is what the stoic taught, sometimes you need to seek suffering and discomfort in order to further your self-growth journey, so Stoicsm is not a passive and unengaged philosophy field but it is totally opposite. - If stoic's freedom is illusory, then why did all the Stoic philosopher encourage us to accept suffering and face the reality? I know, Stoicsm has a lot of holes in it. That's why it keeps changing throughout generations. I'm not a totally Stoic but i always take their preaches to further my life skills. In short, your concept about Stoicsm is very incorrect, i recommend you to look into it a bit more. Thanks for the support!
@@imanaaa3 My comment is a paraphrasing of Hegel and Kojeve, so, no, I understand Stoicism just fine. Your response represents the stagnant Stoic position, where you confuse yourself out of integrating new information. What's important is that Stoicism is a morality for slaves, where people double down on the status quo to avoid integrating new information, which is exactly what you did here.
@@CSGOCOMPILERhmm, maybe you r right, but still, i only take what is good and useful for me. I dont follow stoicsm but pick a lot of their lesson to apply in my life. Have never heard of Hegel and Kojeve, i will check them out! Either way, thanks for the comment.

very beautiful video, reminds me of the style of Sisyphus 55
Yes! Sisyphus55 is the no.1 inspiration for me to start making this type of video. I learnt a lot from him and i would like to share my thoughts as well!
What if you dont know if the voice coming is from mind or heart😢
An advice i always give for any situation is to know yourself. Understanding your inner world would be a big help further in your life. For me, i spend a lot of time in solitude and study philosophy, sometimes neurology and psychology to understand this “self” i have. Its a long journey, but it is extremely rewarding! Good luck out there.

Follow both, but dedicate yourself to neither. There is merit to each, but ultimately, the separate choices made by each can never be perfect, nor will one made by both. The [Perfect] is never applicable to the [Flawed], and as we humans are flawed in our ways, we can never achieve perfection. Remember, we only think the grass on other side is greener because we personally experience this side. At least, if we made a choice with both in consideration, we at least knew that we did put our “all” into it. I loved the vid. Keep it up.
Correct! There are no perfect options. Each option we make requires us to sacrifice mutiple things in our life, even things that we aren’t even aware of them. There are always consequences in everything, either bad or good. Thanks for the support!
You raise a thought-provoking question about the age-old tension between following our hearts versus our minds. It's a dilemma that people have grappled with for centuries, and there are valid arguments on both sides. On one hand, listening to the call of the heart can unlock profound meaning, passion, and authenticity in our lives. Our emotions, intuitions, and deepest values can steer us towards experiences that are truly fulfilling, even if they don't always make rational sense. The heart has an innate wisdom that the analytical mind may overlook. Legendary figures throughout history, from artists to spiritual leaders, have emphasized the importance of trusting one's heart and inner voice. On the other hand, relying solely on the heart can lead to impulsive, shortsighted, or even self-destructive decisions. The logical, objective mind plays a crucial role in assessing risks, weighing pros and cons, and charting a prudent course of action. For major life choices with significant consequences, it's vital to engage in careful analysis, planning, and consideration of practical realities. An overemphasis on emotion at the expense of reason can result in regret, disappointment, and even disaster. The wisest approach is often to find a harmonious balance between heart and mind - to integrate both intuitive and analytical faculties when making important decisions. This requires a keen self-awareness of our own tendencies and biases. Some people may naturally lean more towards the heart, while others are predisposed to prioritize the mind. The goal is to cultivate the ability to judiciously consider both emotional and rational factors, then make choices that align with our deepest values and serve our long-term wellbeing. There's no universal formula, as the appropriate balance between heart and mind will depend on the specific context and our individual personalities and life circumstances. But striving to honor both our feelings and our reason, and finding creative ways to synthesize the two, can lead to wiser, more fulfilling, and more holistic decision-making. It's a lifelong journey of self-discovery and growth. Ultimately, the heart and the mind are not adversaries to be pitted against each other, but complementary aspects of our whole selves. Learning to listen to both, and to skillfully navigate their interplay, is a pathway to greater authenticity, wisdom, and integrity. Does this help shed some light on this deep and complex issue? Tks for listening
Wise words, indeed, the key to living fully is to find the balance of those two.
sr for the mouse-clicking sound, i have a habit of highlighting the text when im reading something. I really want to get into deeper topics but right now i just gonna try to focus on my writing skill which is still horrible. Thanks for watching!
wow can't believe bacon reacting to pewiepie reacting to Sushant btw ur back gonna die if u r in that position for a long time
Thanks but i’ll be okay 💀
can you say the same with the whole thing about "excitement" about your sinful purchase yesterday ?
I do aware of the complexity of the Sushant's case, people believed it was not a suicidal attempt as the media said. So the cause of death is still uncertain, I just want to correct myself in the video. Sushant was a great guy, I really like him. Rest in peace, Sushant Singh Rajput
