Havdalah - a beautiful and simple primer
Just beautiful. Wishing you a very Happy Hanukkah!
What a wonderful simcha to have this opportunity to sing with your son. Mazel tov
This is such a great song and so hard to sing. You do it honor, sir. Thank you!
Your son is adorable. He is quite the photobomber. The dog, too.
Brilliant!
Bob Remstein, the best! And two great singers to bring out all its beauty!
Just stunning! The harmonies were wonderful. Bravo!
You should have shown the entire havdallah
I finally got to hear this rendition, and it's just lovely. Thanks, Mark, David, and Aryell!
Shavua tov from Brazil🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
First time listening to the Havdalah service ( online) ...@ your beautiful singing. Enjoy the Chanukah festival..right around the bend. Shalom .
Wow that candle light, the palm, shadow casting from our lives.. Thank you!!!!
This was wonderful.Cantor your voice is quite beautiful. Who is the very darling young boy under the table? Why not introduce the charming child to us? the dog gets introduced???!!! I am a believer that animals are angels from Heaven; our sacred children are entrusted to us by HaShem.
I have just started learning the Havdalah. Still such a beginner! Very helpful video! May I ask, is the book you are using in the video a siddur or is there a Cantor's song book I could use?
Thank you. That was beautiful.
Best performance I have heard since Placido Domingo!
Hmmm.... Very dainty it is
I wonder who Joe Bobby is? Hmmm.
Thank you for uploading! I’m glad to find a video of the Havdalah being canted, because it’s the most beautiful way to me.
what do these blessings mean in English?
We have used this wonderful video for 4 years now & never tire of it! ברוך הי! Your energy is so very positive & your voice is absolutely gorgeous! Would love to see you make a new one & see how your son has grown! Where do you serve as a Chazan? Would love to one day visit your synagogue! יישר כח
What of that cup of wine??? Only a sip?
This is the greatest video on Havdalah; I've used this every שבת for 2 years & can't seem to do without it !
Thank you for letting me know that my video helps you beautify your Shabbat! I really appreciate the comment.
Nice performance!
Love his 'o's on 'home' and the vibrancy of his sustained 'a's, like I ahhmmmmm home.' Reminds me just a tiche of the great Richard Tucker. There he goes: across the la-a-a-nddd ... I am hooohhhhmmmmmm " ahhh ...
Just saw this lovely comment. Thank you!
thanks for the lessons, and your son was very funny, hihi
Love this song. Lovely performance. Thank you.
Thanksa lot
good job.....the cantor can sing....love this song
at :58 a fly heads straight for the candle and is burned up
Thank you so much for this video me and my family love it. :)
What is the meaning od the braided candle?
Really sweet. Kol hakavod!
What a wonderful piece! David has such talent! Ross Wolman
Of course. Do send an email to cantor@cbbsb.org .
Cantor Childs, I knew you many years ago when you were a student. I am so proud of you, and all you've accomplished. And what a pleasure to hear your beautiful voice again. All good blessings to you and your family. (And Truman!)
A couple of things seem wrong with this primer: 1) You drink less than "rov-revi'it" of the wine, which is the minimum amount required 2) By dipping the candle into the cup you waste all the wine, isn't the usual custom to pour just a *little* wine *onto* the candle?
it is beutiful. try not to sing with him .
your suppose to pourre some of the wine on the candle and let everyone else drink and then let people dip their pinkies in the wine and touch certain areas of the head and put some in ur pockets and also smell the candle after you put it out . .
Terrific video.Keep up the good work Terence
Great way to learn how to do havdala. watch till the end!
