Who/what was the gondolier and what happened to Lucrezia? Did she die? Would really appreciate any clarity; it’s driving me a bit bonkers!

I agree, the Bench is a very nice book! Love how Meghan is reading it on Brightly Storytime.

After finishing the book, I think the reason her mother is so freaked out by kissing or sex on TV is due to her own history. Also, just remembered that her mother gives her grief for not cooking, but her mother never taught her how to cook. I related so much to this book because my mother never taught me how to cook and really never tried to know me.

I’m re-reading NOT YOUR PERFECT MEXICAN DAUGHTER. And really enjoyed your take on the novel. “The teenager in me could totally relate. The adult that I am was sorta like ‘Honey, calm down.’” 🤓 Really enjoying the book this second time around.

As an English person, I can say everything goes with tea. From iced tea, to herbal tea, to a proper English black tea with a splash of milk there is a tea for every occasion. Green sweets are not apple as a rule here, they are lime.

Some people gave it a negative review before they even read it. Those people need to have self awareness about their own bias.

Its a good kids book and all the people bashing it havent read it and they forget they arent the target demographic for the book anyways, but its good to hear a good educative unbiased opinion about the book

100% Agreed. It's a sweet children's picture book. Adorable poem and illustrations.

That was a very honest opinion of the Bench. I loved the bench, and I especially loved the multicultural father's featured throughout the book. Meghan also was featured, toward the back of the book, holding her darling baby girl.
