When I first listened to this song- (in highschool), I noticed the pain in her voice right away, that was so noticeable compared to her other albums, because on her other records her vocal “character” was so buried under sounds. On this record you can hear her “raw” vocals much more clearly.

The fact she says "come on, Mark" in this song, feels like she is talking to me directly and is encouraging me to go on and not gaf about all the BS happening around me
