I diary a live update to my Choros.ie choir app, built with React, Vite, and Tailwind, in VS Code, with help from axios and UUID, and hosted on Netlify.
The choir app was developed for my chapel choir here in Falcarragh, Co. Donegal, Ireland. It replaces bulky ring binders with reams of photocopied song lyrics, which had to be double-indexed on title and first line, as the two are often different. Also, the rustling paper sheets were easily picked up by the mics used for the livestream. As one of the unmoveable requirements for developing an app was that phones and other devices should be used in airplane mode during Mass, React-DOM was a natural choice. Hit the app up once, from a link provided by me to the choir's Whatsapp group, and it works offline.
In development mode (offline, by me only!), songs may be added via a form with provision for capturing key, capo, usage (e.g. Communion, Psalm... ) and associated TH-cam URL for practise learning, which plays TH-cam videos, or alternatively Apple Music and Soundcloud audio files in-app.
