SKF Certified Electric Motor Rebuilder (video V2)
มุมมอง 63K12 ปีที่แล้ว
Version 2 - The right way to repair electric motors. This version show a more accurate bearing housing and journal measurement technique, using a CMM. After all, 50% of motor failures are bearing related, it's the area most repair companies get wrong.

what I'm hearing is a 2 stroke engine? :]]
Matt it took so long for youtube to recommend me your channel, hope my privacy settings are good enough 😀😀but finally they did it
I think in the role of the second guy it must be Mr. Bean. This old man looks too respectable.
okay
Đốt bộ dây quấn stator bằng lửa sẽ làm non mạch từ .
Arent this wayy to thin wires for 900kW id assume the voltage isnt extremly high
👍 Yo creo que sale mas conveniente comprarse uno nuevo que enviarle a un taller certificado 🤔🤔🤔

Very nice
Nice job
If you can use SKF, then you certainly have much better tool to do the work.
In my country it is usually said: if you have no dog to hunt, hunt with a cat.....
What country?I like that saying!
I'm proud and humble that I proceeded with this career (3 months now). Being a machinist serves it's purpose here. The company I work for was born in the 1940s. I kid you not, the practices in use today are still from way back when. All machining is done manually. From bearing housings, shafts, and any part of the motor that needs replacing. We also do in-house service work. Atlantic City, Casinos mainly, but also across the textiles/manufacturing industry across the board in 3 Tri-state area. Do what you love and love what you do.
I wonder if that motor was secured to a clamp. Imagine the armature grinding onto the stator, the motor would fly off its location and kill those guys standing next to it. You hear the bearing noise at the beginning but we need to run the motor up to full speed just to confirm. That 900 kW motor armature at full speed has a lot of kinetic energy stored it it when running.
I agree, it seems a bit dangerous. But then again, how likely is the shaft to suddenly seize? That kinetic energy also could shear metal ... but yes the motor likely would still jump. Crazy!
it can still work, why is should be overhaul?
It was removed from service due to bearing VA issues, you can hear the bearings making a terrible noise which would only eventually fail in service
They repair it before it gets seriously damaged. It's not reliable any more.
oh, thx for your explanation.
Chuck Norris called , he wants to know when you will have his toothbrush motor done
I need no measurements to hear that a bearing is gone
So where was the video of the bad bearings and the post test run?
We didn't upload the post-overhaul run, this was six years ago, we posted it as it was easier than emailing the file so our customer could witness the motor before we overhauled it as he didn't have time to visit the workshops.
no way is too bad. the old guys kill the bearing.
And then short circuit all the phases while it's running ;-) It will probably end up in the next town
Veri Nice
عالی بود
...This video reminds me of the old Popular mechanics "wordless Workshop"....excellent! And a Thumbs up! I was doing this stuff after high school in 1965....unfortunately, the shop did 99% of the 'Old School' stuff you see here.....including grinding near open pails of new grease, and using impact rotary tools on bearing pullers...! Heating new bearings with 500W infrared lamps...when the bearings started smoking, they were ready!!

they are in the business of selling bearings not motors
+brad will This was made in conjunction with SKF and my repair shop to highlight the differences in good and bad technique. SKF over in the UK are into selling good engineering practice not just their bearings.
they still suck and the SKF cert is a joke
good video!!!!!!!}
ever bearing i get comes pre lubed ???
Dax Marshall Depends the one he is using is a open bearing so greasing is compulsory.
Everybody does what this old guy does when they are just starting a new motor shop not until many years later when you save or make enough profit to buy all this fancy machine to do the job correctly you do and use what you have.
HmongGuitarPlayer The old guys motor is running too and the what will be the charges, definitely 5 times more.

Should have brought a KollMorgen.
and if the electric motor in old or antique and has bushings with oil box
Definitely a WEG W22 in the video
Nice!
Allen Bradley sucks. That is why it is being repaired!
