Stack Bat Check Swing Bat Speed Drill

Deceleration in the swing is an important part of being able to transfer energy and create bat speed / exit velo efficiently. This is a great drill to promote deceleration and energy transfer! www.exploswing.com
Split Grip Drill

Great drill to promote barrel release, good bat path and staying palm up/palm down through extension. www.exploswing.com
This is the best explanation of this swing, which I’ve been trying to teach my son from teacherman videos, I’ve seen. Thank you!
Very good explanation. I’ve tried to teach my players find it, feel it, fix it, If your just going through motions but don’t know what your looking for how can you fix it? You put it very simply and well said.
One of my favorites
Such underrated content even 6y later still gold
This is more outstanding material. Can't thank you enough for helping all of our players. Steve Terry, Peterborough
Outstanding as per usual. Great demonstrations and explanations. Steve Terry, Peterborough
Best explanation of the grip I have ever heard. Steve Terry, Peterborough
Excellent explanation as to how this drill is done properly. Steve Terry, Peterborough
Outstanding material as per usual. Steve Terry, Peterborough
I study a lot of good hitting instructors and this material is right up there with the best. Steve Terry Peterbvorough
Love the vids man keep it up! By the way, I am your nephew, Arjun, or A.J.
Thanks Arjun or A.J.!
When the back arm slots, is it a manual contraction or is it something that happens since your front shoulder moves forward? And i mean other parts moving will put it in place, or is it something you have to train since it's it's own seperate movement. Manual as in your hips twisting is something you have to do, and an effect as your foot coming off the ground from weightshift movement and hips twisting.
I think you teaching barrel dumping. The barrel enters the pitch plane differently for different pitches. There is a "knob to the ball" component of the swing but where does it end? See Buster Posey. th-cam.com/video/2CKyxbUdbgw/w-d-xo.html
good drills..dont allow hands to come away from body to much when going into bat lag ..keep hands tight ..kids like to start coming around with hands at that point
I am curious. Have you ever been through the Epstein Hitting System Certification, or have you watched a lot of their videos, or maybe even had the DVD book? That thing was wild! I have watched a few of your videos and your drills are almost identical to what Mike and Jake teach. Just a curious hitting guy always looking to learn more. Cheers.
I like the way you explain and demonstrate certain points. Nice job. I have made several observations and have a question. I realize this is a drill, but I noticed at Contact into extension your barrel appears to follow the flight of the incoming ball on a ball position around waist high, as opposed to following the path of the incoming ball. Obviously, the ball is on a tee which I would think would promote more of a flat swing as opposed to a 4-12 degree upward path into a ball thrown at you. I do like the progressions and use them all the time. Thanks for the video and keep getting better. If I may make a suggestion on your 'slot': try maintaining your elbow separation instead of purposely tucking the elbow into your side.
A+ Explanation!!!
Thanks!
You are excellent. Took me 3 years to get to what you just broke down in 13 minutes. Keep posting.
Thanks! I'm glad I can help!
Do u swing with both hands, arms, and elbows equally? Or is the swing strictly the back elbow scap loading and then slotting to the back hip.
Kinda divided by itself Backarm makes alot of power and the front arm is a leading rod that also gives power
What bats and balls are you using bud? Thanks
These are the Stack Bats (overload/underload bats) that I make and my heavy balls. Available at my online store: www.exploswing.com/exploswing-store-1
Awesome video man, you got an extra like! Keep it up! On my channel we also learn new tricks, take on new challenges and make progression videos! You could take a look and sub if you like the content :)
Excellent content. I know numerous 14U softball girls that could use this particularly focusing on the finishing aspect to extension. The amount of players I see not able to hold the box prior to contact and roll over is excessive.
Hi
Nice swing!
Just a question, doesn’t the front arm need to work up to set the elbow to the height such that it allows the front forearm to steer to the ball....at the same time the rear elbow slots... they shouldn’t be independently moving (rear and front arms). No?
Yes, after the elbow slots typically.
I’m learning a lot from your channel. Good stuff
Great stuff! Any tips on correcting extreme bat wrap? Thanks
Thanks, this is a great drill for sure. By extreme bat wrap I'm guessing you mean the barrel coming way around the head and the bat is horizontal to the ground. If this is true there are a couple of things I like, first of which is giving a mental cue of point the knob to the catcher or the ground depending on what makes more sense to the hitter. Or I'll take a connection ball and have the hitter pin the ball between the bat (just above the hands) to the back shoulder again with the knob toward the catcher. This usually gives a good feel to the hitter. I can send you a pic or video of this drill if you want to send me an email to info@exploswing.com. Thanks!
Explo Swing thank you so much. I’ll shoot you a email right now
Adding this to our fastpitch team!
Awesome!
Do not see this done enough! Great drill because it can be done without a coach as well.

Do you teach line drives or launch angle ???
I teach putting yourself in the best position possible to hit the ball as hard as possible. And in general I tell hitters that they're after rising line drives. It will also depend on the type of hitter they are. It doesn't make sense to be working with an undersized player with below average exit velo and having them focus on a homerun launch angle of 25-30°.
Man I love this drill, tried it with my 11 year old and it does wonders. Helps a lot with releasing the backside and not squishing the bug too! Just found your channel, I like how your straight and to the point. Keep em coming!
That's great to hear! Glad I could help!
Hello, nice swing!
