I was looking forward to the hearing Marissa's story, but I think you guys talked more about yourselves and your own experiences and didn't let her talk much. I learned more about you than her.

Nice video. Just a suggestion. When cutting the letters out of adhesive backed acrylic part , u could cut the outer keychain shape aswell. Then place over base and drop ur letters in with adhesive off . Could only be the width of your laser cut off line ...
@@thaDon2525 yup, that would work as well! Thanks for watching!

Great podcast!
Glad you enjoyed it! ❤️
That was such a fun one!!
She was the best! 🎉
Clicking the red dot isn’t working for me. I highlighted everything to make CP. Then double clicked the line. A few red dots do show up. If I click them, get out and double click again they are still there
@@tallgirlswagg do they turn from a red circle to a grey square? That’s how you know you have closed those open paths.
@@RileyBlackDesigns no they don’t turn anything. They stay red. But the grey square means its closed? I don’t know that Ty.
@@tallgirlswagg if you are still needing help with the file, I can take a look at it! Just email it to me at RileyBlackDesigns@outlook.com ❤️

Yes! Use a PA system for your podcast next year!
Definitely!!
wasn't helpful at all. Never mention where she begin the score lines, I don't where the score lines at.
I’m sorry you didn’t find it helpful! If you go to approx the 9 min mark, that’s where I add and adjust the score lines for the overlapping letters. I have a few other videos that cover this, as well and here if you have specific questions. Have a good day! ❤
Thank you! I've been doing Profit First for a couple of years, but this is the first I've heard of Relay and it sounds great.

Love your podcasts, I get value from every episode. I am finally caught up to current and now am disappointed that I don't have Riley Black Podcasts to binge. I just purchased my laser last December and am so disappointed I can't make the conference this year. I won't yet ask, "When is the next one?", but I will anxiously await the announcement. Hang in there and have a great time in Tulsa!!!

Another great podcast! Thanks Mr & Mrs Vegas!
Haha thanks!! We need to get you guys scheduled, too!!
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to make the video and help teach! I have been using Silhouette Studio for quite a while, but I know there are many things I don't use or still need to learn. As I watched I found a couple things to point out which were "missed" or maybe could be explained a different way to make it easier for some. 1. Grouping and Compound path often get confused and are NOT the same. Grouping "ties" the object together but doesn't make it ONE object. Compound Path makes several pieces of an object into ONE object, but you also have to look at the point editing to ensure all are connected like shown in the video. 2. When you make a Compound Path a great way to figure out if your object is a closed path or if you have unconnected nodes quickly is to fill it with color. If it will not fill with color there is an opening or spilt somewhere that need to be connected in node editing. Double click to find the red dot and click on it like she did in her video so it connects to the closest other red dot that may you cannot even see. Pop! The object is now closed path and it will fill with color. 3. When she was having trouble with the nodes not connecting toward the end of the video she did not mention that you can PULL the red node away from "itself", since it is really TWO nodes after you broke the path. So it you are having trouble with it "reconnecting"... as soon as you break the path pull one red node away just a bit. Sometimes it may be the wrong side of the line you are pulling away (the one you want to keep in place) but once you get that moved you can then see the one you do need to move/delete much better. Once completed you can easily move the red node back to place. This also works if you have an instance where you want to connect a red node to a DIFFERENT area with another red node to close the path. 4. I found the "embossing" instruction very helpful, but I would also add that you can change your line color to a contrasting color OR fill the compound path object part to a FILL (and maybe lower translucence) to be able to see what you are working with better. 5. Instead of making the name bigger, if you don't want that much overlapping and it only needed to be a smidge bigger in one small spot, I would have done some point editing in that one area to make only that one area overlap more. Its a design choice and sometimes it makes the difference in a small space.
Thanks for watching and sharing your knowledge!! I definitely don’t claim to know it all or even the best way, just sharing what I’ve learned along the way and that changes almost daily!! ❤️❤️
❤
😘😘
Appreciate it! 🙌
It was great having you on!!
