Goodtimes Chorus
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 18 ก.ค. 2014
The Arlington Goodtimes Chorus is an a cappella chorus based in Arlington, Texas. We are a chapter of The Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), formerly known as the S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A., in the highly competitive Southwest District of Champions. We've been around since 1962, spreading four-part harmony and good times in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
We welcome folks who would like to sing. It is not necessary to have a wonderful voice (although that would be nice) or to have years of choral experience. You should be enthusiastic and able to carry a tune. We meet each Tuesday evening at 7 P.M. at Epworth United Methodist Church, Arlington, TX. We are fortunate to have a Director and Music Team who all bring a great sense of humor, energy, and knowledge to every rehearsal.

Bill Smith was an amazing man. He was the director at the Police Academy that I went to in 1987. He gained my respect by pushing me to be the best I could be. At first I did not care much for him, but as I got to know him that all changed. He could always beat me in the runs and would push me to make a better time. I told him that he could out run me but he could not beat me in arm wrestling and I challenged him to try. He told me that after graduation he would arm wrestle me. Once I graduated, I loved and respected him so much that I would not wrestle him. I guess he won that match too because he had won my loyalty and respect; I lost the desire to defeat him in anything. Last week I decided to try to find him again....I waited too long. I tell people I love them and I know it makes some of them uncomfortable. However, this is why I do, because you never know when it will be the last chance you get. So Bill Smith I love you and I'm sorry I wasn't there to say it one last time.
That was Beautiful! Thank you!

I love thiiiiis
One of the most underrated songs in movie history.
get a sound engineer to help.
The problem is that these videos are recorded with a cell phone. Engineering would not help without better equipment.
Stunning!
When i first saw their picture i tought that the tall one is the bass man.usually the bass look like that.
Waw 👍👌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks.
:-)
Sorry, the videographer was not quite ready since this is a quick start with no intro.
David Harrington, Studio DH, did the original arrangement for my Dad as a gift. I just tweaked a few places.
The name of the song is "On My Merry Way To Love". It's an original song written and arranged by Brian Hogan.
Thanks, Mark.

The only a cappella high school group in Arlington, they have been invited to participate in the inaugural National A Cappella Convention in Memphis, TN, April 24-25. They are trying to raise money for the trip. th-cam.com/video/QAi2X0ubi2o/w-d-xo.html Stay With Me And here’s the link to pass on to help them with their fundraising: www.gofundme.com/volunteervoices
Our view count is climbing. This is new and exciting for a small group like ours. Please watch our video, #staywithme
If you like what you are hearing, you can hear us live or become a member of the chorus. See our website at goodtimeschorus.org/
Being the new kid on the block, I am not as familiar with Barbershop as these other guys and love the challenge of "updating" the sound and becoming more modern and accessible. There is nothing better than the blending of voices into a sweet harmony. Enjoy, share with your friends and stay tuned for much more as we explore the wonderful world of music together.
As the director of the chorus, it is my responsibility to teach these guys that there is a whole wide world of music out there that can be harmonized. This is, hopefully, the first of one such educational trip into the "wild side" of a cappella away from the safe shores of barbershop. ;)
